You can either decide to kill them for the beaver dam loot, or tame them for a lot of wood.

Get a anky and craft a refine forge put the forge in anky tame Castroids get castroids saddle and you should have anky saddle on anky then you collect metal with anky then get out refine forge then make ingots then use castroids to craft things also good if you have platform saddle Dino’s and he can be escape + fighter dino to use on a dino with play form saddle.

Best method for getting pelt cp and rare mushrooms make sure there are two dams and get a ranged weapon or powerful mount to kill the beavers then you get the stuff from only one dam so because they seem to spawn extremely fast near dams so be quick hope this helped ;)

I have a question. I have a huge bever farm that is fully walled in,located in a beach area. I was going to try to make my farm fully afk so I could get mainly pelt without flying to the redwoods or snow biome. Would a few raptors on aggressive deal with the beavers and the sometimes dilos,trikes and mega piranhas, or should I put in a sarco or 2? I do have ways to tame bolth but I would not like them to die from their targets. Thanks

On mobile, their loot can contain metal battlements. Mever craft battlements on your own!

If you build a small enclosure that only you can access and put a few in there they will build dams for you BUT ONLY IF IT IS IN THEIR SPAWN AREA!!!!!!!

For anyone having trouble with these guys (they do but pretty hard), use a bola or argy drop them into a pen. The bola works well for low levels. You will only get about 8 shots off with a snow, so bring extra bola for higher level tames.

Use kibble if you got it, very long tame and as stated, very very fast tupor drop.

Got one last night and he died after a lovely troodon attack...anyway its not fun taming these guys torpor drops ungodly fast so understand while taming him youll be staring at him 90% of the time instead of doing other things. They are unreal with wood gathering mine had 400 weight points and i have a stego with over 600 yet this guy literally carried at least 3x what my stego could. Theyre quick on land and amazingly fast underwater. Ps kibble is a must and you need way more narcos than what this app says i used close to 400 i believe for a lvl 20

You can find their dams by rivers going out to ocean, unless youre on a server where small tribes build right where they spawn

Can be carried by a quetzal and will gather wood at the same time! Just drive it up to the tree and use x (default) to stop the quetzal! Make sure the castoroides is close to the tree. Takes a little practice but once you get it down it's easy!

100% Recomended to farm wood, it has a 50% weight decrease for wood and tahtch on his inventory, if you are playing ARK Mobile Ultimate, the tame rate for local singleplayer is x2.5

If you have an Argentavis, you can grab a wild Castoroides and plop him in a preprepared enclosure near your base. We originally planned to tame him in there.

Turns out, if you don't tame him, he will eventually build a dam inside the enclosure that you can easily harvest from outside the fence. You just have to tranq him afterwards or he will go and destroy the fence.
