Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a castoroides? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a castoroides.
I only needed 3 Gallimimus Kibbles for a level 35, not 4 as it says.
Pick up with an Argy then drop in an enclosure and knockout. Don't leave it unattended! The torpor goes down very, very fast.
How to tame: Castoroides
Preferred food: Crops
Preferred kibble: Superior Kibble(extraordinary works too)/Gallimimus Kibble (mobile)
Difficulty - 3/10
Castoroides are wonder tames that can gather wood with amazing efficiency, saddled or not. Castoroides are small and fairly fast and can be found in lakes and rivers.
You will need:
• Bola (Take a stack or two in case it breaks free or has friends)
● Tranq arrows (Use darts for high levels)
• Narcoberries/narcotics (try to bring as much as possible - 200 Narcotics for example)
● Taming food
• Spike walls to protect from Sarcos and Raptors
How to tame
• Place sleeping bags near the Castoroides just in case you die
● If a dam is present, open it and bola all Castoroides that aggro to you.
• Proceed to knock out with tranqs/clubs, fists are not recommended for higher levels
● Feed the Castoroides and watch its torpor - it drops fast
○ If the Castoroides is a higher level, chances are it will take a while to tame, so surround it in spike walls.
• Have fun with your beaver!
If you want this creature you have to build a trap you need to make a trap for the creature and when you build the trap you have knock down you can use a tranquilizer to knock and when you do feed berries but if it’s too long you can wait and you cannot feed it until it’s about to starve and when you knock it again you have to feed the berries and it’ll be faster hope it helps
I went through two stacks of narcoberries make sure to stack up a bunch
Some people the theri is better for WOOD but the beaver is better for wood and gets a weight reduction for it also on mobile they can get quite a bit of rock carrots from jungle bushes
I was trying to find one I went to the redwood forest to my tree base I left I forgot the beavers were there my game crashed I also had some gally kibble on me
How to VERY easily tame Beavers (or any medium dinos with high torpor) on single player :
Step 1: Build a 4x4 trap with 2 high walls built with door frames (add ramps on one side if you don’t have an argy)
Step 2: Carry one with an argy or lure it into the trap with aggro if you don’t have an argy
Step 3: Leave it there but don’t go out too far so it won’t despawn, wait for night, put sleeping bag down and sleep for 4 hours. This step is to drain it’s food.
Step 4: Knock it out with tranqs and feed it berries or carrots (you can get plenty with a trike or stego, if not then parasaur is also good)
Step 5: Enjoy having a beaver then cry that you need to be level 61 to make a saddle for it…
Pros: Insanely fast starve tame method, doesn’t use any narcs of any kind for a level 145, doesn’t reduce much taming efficiency like the old starve tame method where you have to knock it out THEN let it starve, almost always gets 80-90% taming effectiveness.
Cons: Have to be in the area for a long while so it won’t despawn and wait for night time, it eats a lot and if you don’t check on it, it will eat everything you put in if you wanted to save stuff like crops or prime meats, you have to trap it for it to starve so will cost a lot of building mats to start.

Guys grab it with an argy and trap it in a box and sleep for 7 irl hours if you have the clock and in single player and when you wake up just knock him out he will have 0-500 hunger
You need to pump melee and weight.
Bring too much more narcotics than the app says… a lot of them
If you just stand on top of a rock even a small one, these cant get you cause they are very bad at climbing. From there u can just tranq them. I got a level 150 that way
Here is how to tame a beaver
1. Bola it
2. Club it
3. Feed it
There you go now you have a beaver
Can be carried by argys, Dododex says it can't. Drop it into a trap near your base and easy tame.
The argent can pick this up ...
Trapped a lvl 140 surrounding it with stone pillars. Took about 12-14 tranq darts with journey man longneck. After starve taming around 40 minutes and 125 narcotics later, it was time to feed it. I used exceptional kibble, one tier above superior kibble. It ate 10 of them and bam got me a 199 after tame. Health 3060, Stam 648, weight 438, melee 256. Not bad for my first casteroid.
Note! Torpor drain is insanely high!!! I brought 200 narcotics just in case.
Ok so I was gonna tame one of these little badger dudes, and I had this big prep time and all that, then it was time... I grabbed one with my argy and tranqed it out away from its little badger friends. I put in a 10x balm and gallimimus kibble (I’m on mobile btw) and, after all that prep, it was tamed in about ten seconds! A breeze if u have 10x balm :)
For ppl who are too lazy to make kibble like me find a jellyfish and kill it then use the bio toxin to keep it knocked out
So try and knock it out (this might take a while) feed it berries. But if you don’t bring any narcotics it will wake up. (This creature is in packs. So try to knock one and kill one but the downside is this creatures torpor will drain faster than any other. Be careful)!
Carry about 50 narcotics aside from the darts so you don’t have to harvest berries. Tame alone or build foundations doorframes w/o doors and tame. Be careful for others around.
