If you have an Argentavis, you can grab a wild Castoroides and plop him in a preprepared enclosure near your base. We originally planned to tame him in there.
Turns out, if you don't tame him, he will eventually build a dam inside the enclosure that you can easily harvest from outside the fence. You just have to tranq him afterwards or he will go and destroy the fence.

They know longer cut the weight of wood by 1/4. They reduced it to 1/2.
Idk if Iโm just an idiot and havenโt seen this on Dododex before, but if you trap a beaver near water with a wooden platform, four wooden doorways, and two wooden ramps, donโt tame it and it will build dams in it. Up so newbies see
If you carry a wild Castoroides and put it in your waters it will make its own dam. Easy materials in bulk!
These things are amazing! If you find a wild one, then thatโs great because you can raid itโs dam for some cementing paste. Now, if you tame one, the beaver sadly wonโt make any dams. But, you can now harvest a bunch of wood with it if you put it on wandering or use a saddle. If you think itโs a bit dangerous running on the ground, let me introduce you to one of the greatest things in this game for gathering, auto-harvest. Just get an argentavis and itโs saddle, grab a tamed beaver, and go up to a tree and let the beaver hit it. ( Put on wandering for the beaver for it to work) This is way safer than being on the ground. To get way more wood, put some levels into melee and even weight if you want to. Auto-harvest also works with ankylosaurus and doedicurus.

To get stuff frot their dams place a sleeping bag, transfer the whole dam inventory then let them kill you. After respawning retake your stuff again, they dont attack you anymore.

Wild castoroides sometimes build dams which can contain cementing paste, wood, silica pearls, rare flowers and mushrooms. But accessing the inventory of a dam will make the beavers angry so watch out!
This creature has a bonus where all wood placed on him will way significantly less. So Pitt all your wood on him
Seems to harvest more wood per hit than a mammoth, but the mammoth has better weight reduction, so just get your hairy-elephant to follow your splinter-mouse. Now admire the open plain where a proud forest once stood and laugh uncomfortably.
A castoroid will collect wood from trees if it's on wandering.
Everyone. TAMING OR KILLING THESE MFERS DOESNT MATTER THE GAME WILL RESPAWN MORE. Also when you take stuff out of the dams, dump the rest of the stuff out to destroy the dam. They wonโt fill the dam again until itโs destroyed. Nobody likes opening a damn to find a bunch of wood!!!!
