Tips & Strategies

What are tips for carnotaurus? Tips and strategies for carnotaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Aladar ain't gonna help you this time buddy. Be safe, bring a friend-as a distraction, of course.
After the TLC, Carnotaurus has become not only a more powerful mount but also a very dangerous encounter especially with their Yutyrannus leaders. The secondary attack causes a nasty bleed effect that drains the targets' health significantly. This paired with the significant knockback can easily kill many creatures with high health pools such as brontos and stegos. A fully imprinted, mate-boosted and mutated pack of carnos are a force to be reckoned with and can even take out Alpha Rexes.
It says that they don’t fit through double doorways but they can and I kinda found that out the hard way
Steps to tame:
1.get somewhere high
2.start attacking it with bow/crossbow tranq arrow/arrow
3.when it runs away follow it but lead away from any deep mass of water
4.shoot it while your running
5.when it’s knocked out feed it normal meat/prime.narcotics shouldn’t be necessary.
You now have a carno!
I was scared to shoot these things with tranq arrows and tame it but I shot it and knocked it out
It died due to drowning, lesson learned never knock a carno in the middle of a lake
A really funny thing you can do with alpha carnos is to get a rhynio, lure an alpha carno to the beach, and get it to swim after you in the ocean. If it loses interest and becomes passive, then get close to it and dismount on your rhynio and it should start swimming after you again. Then when it gets too close you can fly some distance away, dismount, and it will start chasing you again. Do this a few dozen times and you can trick the alpha carno into swimming to herbivore island or any other crazy location since alphas can't drown.
You can also leave the alpha carno at sea then fly away from it until it disappears in your render distance and forget about it since it will never despawn, drown, or even move so you can go to it later to kill it.
This process takes 33% longer than with an alpha rex or raptor, since alpha carnos swim 33% slower than alpha rexes or raptors.
A really funny thing you can do with alpha carnoes is to lure one to a bronto using a mount, make it deal like a few hundred damage to it, then either fly or outrun the alpha carno and get some popcorn as you watch the bronto try to attack the alpha carno while the alpha carno is minding its own business wandering or killing another dino. The more damage the bronto takes the longer it will attempt to attack the alpha carno.
This happens because carnos don't attack brontos, and wild brontos can't damage alpha carnos.
If you need to find carnos for the "pro hunt: no bola, better run" pursuit, then go to the tundra and find yutyrannuses cause they will ALWAYS spawn with 3 carnos.
If you are asking these questions then I have replies:
1. Are you serious?
No, I am not serious
2. Is this a joke?
Yes, this is a joke
I had one named stubs she was great until a therizino threw her off the red obelisk platform then megs finished her off R.I.P ;(
I swear when I just spawn in the game IT LITERALLY spawn next me I ran and it’s so fast I couldn’t even out ran it it was very scary
If you have a flyer get on a rock the carno can't reach or on multiplayer get a friend and a flyer and grab your friend and let him/she shoot the carno with anything that has torpor
A low level carno is actually easy to knock out I shot a lvl 10 3 times with my crossbow and boom, it was out I knocked out a lvl 90 with a crossbow and a longneck rifle. PROTECT THE NOOBS!
Word to the wise. When raising a baby Carno, remember they require more meat than baby Raptors. I lost a level 150 Carno while I was sleep lol
Rookie taming method (worked first time):
1. Craft a larg bear trap (and about 15 tranq arrows)
2. Find a carno out In the open and easy to see/fire at
3.get carno to aggro on you (somehow) and walk into the trap
4. Tranq it quickly before it breaks out
5. Tame!!!
I'm my opinion carnos are super good at being guard dogs and as a transport mount thier long range attack and the knock back on the head but move is super good at killing alpha raptor you should pump a level 1 with 10 levels
4 to health
2 to weight
3 to stamina
1 to movement speed
Because I’m an idiot, I forced my tribemate to help me kill an Alpha Rex I found. Well, that wasn’t a great idea. We landed on a cliff overlooking the Alpha and its turmoil, and began shooting with our crossbows. I HEAR STOMPING, OKAY, AND I TURN TO RUN TO MY PTERANODON BECAUSE I RECOGNIZE THE FOOT PATTERN—A Carnotaurus knocks us both off of the cliff and down where the Alpha is and I think you know what happened next..
I have a lot to say about these Dino’s bc they’re so great, I tried shortening it but this is helpful info so plz read...ENJOY ;)
They’re great takes all around, just upgrade its stam, they can get really OP so I suggest getting one when you can, super useful early-game through realty any game
: encountering : if u encounter a wild one don’t try to outrun it try to outsmart it, it will lose intrest and just go attack other animals, or if it doesn’t get off your tail run around a few rocks and you should be fine, but it doesn’t go after raptors so don’t try it,
They’re spawn is kinda everywhere, I find that they’re usually surrounded my raptors but it’s kinda random with these guys, they spawn is forests, swamps, snow, all sorts of places
They don’t take slow but not fast either, you don’t need a lot of narcs....like I used two but I only needed like one sooo they’re great tames
GET ONE OF THESE DINOS!!!! 4 AND A HALF STARS! Lol
Just killed a Carno with a pike by running around in circles with it #Legendary
