Prep:

1. Bring fodder cryopodded dinos (preferably a rex for instant friendship bar; gallis and rhinos will take a couple of feedings but it will work too).

2. Tek Suit (If you don't have the engrams learned make sure to have a fast mount on stand-by to run/fly away)

3. Kill off any annoying garbage around the area. Leave harmless creatures for the 2nd part of taming.

Tips:

1. Don’t use traps when taming. They will often refuse to eat.

2. They will sometimes walk away after sniffing a corpse (garbage pathfinding). If this happens, use the SAME exact corpse. It will not eat any other corpses. Keep trying until you can get the corpse into eating distance.

First try to tame one. I hadn’t been able to find a good level one but if you need creatures to kill- you can give several babies or low levels.

I used Wyvern babies- didn’t even trap it- I did have to run after him but other than that he was an easy tame.

Make sure the area is clear of anything that can kill you. And ensure you sit your flier a bit back

Keep in mind if you find one of these and it sees you, you are very dead.

When you trap it and start feeding it if it stops eating and glitches out then you need to fly out of render distance and come back and then it will start eating. Also a good way to tame one is to tame a breeding pair of rexes and cryo a baby Rex and when you find a carchar throw the baby Rex out the unclaimed the baby’s Rex the kill the Baby Rex then feed it to the carchar and his taming will go all the way up then hop on it and kill everything around you to tame it.

Is it in the island mobile or no?

Always use a trap because if you don’t and I know this from experience that they will almost always agro on to you after feeding it the corpse

To tame, place Dino gates in |_| shape lead carchar into close in 🔲 shape now feed two gallimius then ride kill everything possible don’t bleed too much takes away effectiveness now u run out of time repeat process boom you have carchar

Their healing ability is overpowered. At 100 bloodrage, they regenerate health faster than any healing dino in the game. With a decent Carchar, you can kill wild gigas with ease if you have the bloodrage. Their healing out heals the bleeding effect. Not just that, they don’t rage, and if a fight is looking bad, they can zoom away at a speed as fast as a tek suit. They have a very nice turn radius, and they have better stamina management than a giga has. Overall, these guys are insane for osds and element nodes on extinction. Tested, I ran a purple osd with one tribemate. We had 2 carchars, both non mutated and only 36 base melee points. At 100 bloodrage, we were out healing the damage against us. At wave 7, we were around half hp, but the Carchars were already healing thousands of health by the second. With an extra tribemate, we could have gone for as long as we wanted to. I would definitely use Carchars over gigas in everyday use. The only purpose I see in gigas now is to run bosses on extinction and the mini bosses on fjordur. Even then, gigas may be completely discarded once Carchars are mutated enough. (Gigas will probably always have a use, I’m just being a silly Carchar fan)

If you really need one of these perfect tamed, and accidentally get hit during taming, you can get off and KO it to feed it Archelon sushi to restore effectiveness. Might take a while for it to wake up however…. Debatably worthwhile

If it takes damage while u ride it it will lower tame efficiency

The Charchar is a extremely fast and deadly creature.Its believed that a tamed charchar can even kill most of the largest creatures in Ark!I also tested and saw that no matter the stats of this beast.You can tame a Charchar at ANY level!Just be warned...if you approach it with a dead dino in hand to feed.It might bite back.

You can find them on the Island too. Just look in giga spawn zones, kill mobs if no sight of it. After a couple of months playing solo I found two of them, one was on the northeastern snow peak, 100 meters from a wild giga lol

When taming do not go in water! I tried to swim across a lake and it was soooo slow in the water!

Since I saw people asking where to find these on Ragnarok you can find them in the Highlands

You don't need baby rex's, it's just extremely helpful. I used rex's but it's really up to preference

I saw one of these for the first time on my 225 Spino me being the goober thinking that it would be an easy kill 1v1ed this thing…. Mind you this thing was way lower less than 100 than my spino and my spino was all malee and health…. I died… avoid these at all costs even if you think that you have the tankiest Dino.

All you need is a baby rex, unclaim it and kill it, then aproach carca and when it starts sniffing drop it.

Bring few baby rexes just in case.

These share the spawns with Giga. If you have Gigas on the map kill them to refresh the spawns for a chance of one of these to pop up. Tried and tested on gen2.

Can be found any place on any map you would find a Giga on, it can not be found on SE, AB, or Gen 1.(which is stupid as the picture we got was in Genesis bog biome) The best place to find it is Rag Highland. By the way it cannot be brought into boss fights. up if you found helpful!
