First dino I ever tamed and bred. In my opinion its a slow breeder. But hell of a defender. Its just a good tame all around especially due to the fact its 10x better then a trike (in defense) and the saddle is relatively easy to unlock. Plus its got a cool swimming animation.

If you want the kraken on ocean you will need this guy, if you want a quick bronto you will need it's eggs if you want to raid a base with turrets you will need this guy.

They are like trikes that can swim under water

If you are too lazy to tame but need an effective small creature defense hop on one's back in the wild and some small creatures will hurt it instead of you.

Fun Fact: The dead turtles you see on Valguero are actually abberant! It does make sense because of the abberation zone, though. You can see the abberant glowing parts on its legs.

They are nice guards and have high health I have 2 just outside my gates call Security 1 and 2 they have 10000 health each 👌👌👌

When u tryna run away from something like a raptor or something, find a turtle and hop on its back. Then when the animal tries to hit u, it will just hit the carbonemys instead and u can easily run away while its distracted

I haven’t seen anyone mention it might not have looked long enough but this fat slow moving turtle acts an early fridge. Not at good as the fridge in the game but still works until then. It’s also good for eggs and can carry a lot of supplies. Underrated tame still use the at outpost around the map for mobile chests and fridges.

Hello! if you are not level 10 and you have already tamed one of these, I suggest raiding a beaver dam! Just be careful.

you can cheese this guy by hitting em with any weapon after he bites, also put hp and melee on this guy, good starter, just pick a low level like 17 and you’ll be good

These are great stealth navy mounts, they can go underwater forever and you can shoot of them there great!

Encounter one of these tame it or kill it because it gives lots of keratin and they ARE TANKY. A lvl 1 has like 700 hp, you can get saddles for these and they are super good early game

These are really good for defence, swimming and collecting berries, thatch and wood. Females are useful for producing eggs in order to make kibble for Brontos but also have food.I have one, her name is Carbohydrates and she is 254lvl. Make sure to use a slingshot or tranq arrows to tame it!!!

if your trying to make a saddle and need cementing paste, go to a beaver dam, just be sure you have a get away plan or a weapon :)

Carbonemys have a lot of health, and becuase of this i use it as bait when i am trying to tame carnivores to lure them towards me. These turtles can also be used for berry farming although they are not amazing at it.

So these behemoths of turtles are absolutely strong when it comes to getting berries and travelling under water.
