Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a carbonemys? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a carbonemys.
They are very slow so you do not need a trap
You can knock out these things using the metal hatchet, i dunno how but i’ve done it like 5 times ngl
if ur a lazy a** person like me knock it out with a stone or metal axe
if you wanted to to tame these things so they protect you no need for that because you can jump high enough to ride on them but the only problem is that you will not be able to control them ok let's get started
1.you need to jump on their tail
2.you need to carefully jump on the middle
done
things not to do
1.don't do things when in the swamp I don't know why but in that place they move fast and shake a lot
2.dont hit them while riding
They should update ark to be more accurate because carbonemys actually ate meat in real life unlike modern turtles.
The amount of turtles I had to kill for the saddle is sad. They only drop about two- three keratin per dino
Geta club hop on it's shell and bop it on the head it worked for me
ez tame. hit w’ slingshot while on a rock or walking backwards. shove the purple berrys (idk what they r called) down it’s throat, and bam u got urself a badass beginner dino.
Easy to tame shoot it with rocks from slingshot, until it gets scared to start walking away then punch it a bunch
if your new use a slingshot and aim for the head, make sure there are no dilos, they are really good pets because i tamed a lvl 12 one and it had 1200 health and 178% melee damage
These creatures are slow but don’t underestimate these creatures they are Also kinda strong they can harvest berries and to tame one you have to tranquillize it by just shooting them and give it some berries done hope it helps
The carbonemys is only useful as a tank, but as a cheap tame, they certainly can tank a ton, so here’s a guide to tame one (especially useful for Tusoteuthis taming)
1. These overgrown turtles can be found along almost all beaches on the southern end of the island (on other maps just look around the edges of large bodies of water) and sometimes they may be in the water. They are a knockout tame so make sure to prepare 25ish tranqs (for a high level) or 15ish tranq darts (again, for a high level).
2. You can use mejos, however, for a high level it is better to use kibble, for the extra speed and effectiveness. Beware, though, because these things absolutely inhale kibble. For a max level on single player bring 25ish regular kibble
3. The best strategy for taming these is to walk backwards away from it and shoot its legs or head. DO NOT SHOOT ITS SHELL OR TAIL! (It will take reduced damage and therefore torpidity). You can trap it if you are unable to maneuver well enough but it will cost extra resources. It’s torpor drops slow enough you won’t need extra narcotics to feed it
Happy taming!
Just use Berries on it to tame and Nocberries to keep it more unconscious!
You take a hatchet and try to kill it and surprisingly you knock it out.
I like to get a bunch of these when I face off against a toro or something, they make great weapons! When you tame one do not swim away, they are giant turtles so basically you have entered their domain. I usually just use a club and hit repeatedly but that may vary on our health, you may have lower health than me so uhm yeah… Hope this was helpful!
Go above, go beyond, plus ultra!🐢
All u need is a slingshot u can literally mine stone for sling amo they are so slow lol🤣
I was able to knock out and tame a 840 health guy with my bare fists, so don’t give up
The slingshot work pretty well. (P.s dilophosaurus are a big help.)
They can be knocked out by snakes but would like three hits, but I have four of them and they are CRAZY FRICKING AWESOME! They wrecked a sarco!!!
Let it lick you lick lick lick
