This is the only sea mount you should currently use for adventuring or the underwater caves. High levels easily tear through alphas and other hard to kill creatures like squids or mosas without the fear of dismounting due to squids or eels or jellyfish.

Do not be almarmed by it taking damage in deep water, its very small and takes a long time to kill your whale and can easily be healed by surfacing. The underwater caves have pockets you can surface at to heal. The surface healing can out-heal almost all wild dino damage and a lot of the cave damage. Fight at the surface if you can.

They also generate oil over time. They can only carry 20 oil at a time though so make sure you empty it often. The oil also spoils so use it quickly.

You can also press left trigger at the surface to jump and spray water. Careful not to beach your whale in the process though.

A basilosaurus is able to ignore a jelly-fish sting, disregard the grab of a tuso, and makes oil. Careful, everything arggos these dudes for no reason.

For that one guy saying these things are op and you need to nerf them, the ocean is already full of under powered, ultra nerfed creatures that you can tame, like seriously man what are thinking, the ocean is fun but a bunch of animals are weak compared to alphas, and can easily die to electrophorus and cnidara, the basilo is the only exception, so you wanna nerf it.

Do not feed It with meat while on the deeps, It damages instead of healing the basilo, but when at medium depths and on the surface the meat will heal them normally, Upboot If you found this useful, i learned by myself.

These dudes Are gods of the seas cuz they don’t get effected by jellyfish and they have lots of hp and they are tanky and they can go very deep and mine killed a level 90 megaladon and he was level 29 and he won without a scratch I tamed a dunkleo with a Basilo long story short always tame a basilo (mini tip) always bring scuba gear if u have some if ur going deep in the water

Haven’t seen anyone talking about this, but wild Basilos are useful in another way: taming lots of Mantas!

The Mantas that spawn around Basilosaurus are still dangerous, but unlike other Mantas they WON’T aggro if you’re simply nearby or accidentally touch them. With enough AnglerGel, you can tame a whole school without a problem and then tame the Basilo after you’re done. Plus now it’ll have its own personal bodyguards!

Just watch out for other wild Mantas, though. If you aggro them, even the Basilosaurus’s Mantas will attack you.

I have a level 300 basilo and it has a hp of 42000 and a melee of 404 ,now it is currently a beast which can't be killed even by Alfa moso

It will keep you warm while you are underwater. It is also immune to Electrophorus and Cnidaria, but it will lose life when it is too deep

Very useful for both caves in the oceans as also carrying tons of stuff though the oceans to let’s say a water base. One of the best ocean creatures without a doubt. Easy to tame... only issue is the mantas swimming next to the Basilo.

Quick note wont produce oil for force feeding. Will only produce oil when they eat on their own. So if you want free oil, don’t put a cone of shame on them.

best creature ever can't be shocked by jellies, can't be grabbed by squids, does LOTS of damage, heals super fast at surface, and drops only raw prime meat and oil.

Best underwater creatures to tam. They produce oil but the oil CAN spoil. Weight is wonderful. Stamanis is decent. Not very fast under water. Rgains health quickly. Don’t need to knock out passive tame. 1st underwater creature in ark to tame.

These creatures are amazing, I use these for the water caves due to their immunity to shocks from eels and jellyfish. Plus their the health of regains fast. And generate oil, definitely a creature to have

just tamed one of these only to drown mid-fight against some megs. terrified that i was about to lose my tame so soon, i hurried back to where i died as fast as i could... only to find my basil had WRECKED all the megs. he can kill one shark in less than a minute! we traveled from herb island all the way to carno island, and he gained 10 levels along the way from killing more megs, plus he collected so much fish meat he was almost encumbered. definitely a must tame--you'll never have to worry about megs, mantas, or jellyfish again.

These things are like superman and wolverine. They are invulnerable to tusos, jellyfish, and eels. When they get to the surface they get insane health back. They only have one weakness depth in the ocean, they get damaged.

Yo, basilosaurus are the goats. If they can't be grabbed by a tuso and stunned by electrophorus and cnidarians, the ocean' annoying wonders, it would mean it's in grabable
