Before you can passive tame it, you'll need to kill off all of the mantas that swarm around it. A low level Plesiosaur can easily get the mantas' attention and clear them out without much hassle.

Why r u all trying to kill the predators around it? I just got an itchy, tamed it, put on its saddle, rose to the surface and watched as I killed all of the megs like it killed my family!

When I tried to tame this beautiful basilo, I was taming it with cooked meat. I got to 95% on taming, but then the tame bar started to rapidly decrease. When your taming a basilo remember, use theriz kibble... (don’t do what I did...)

Make sure to kill all the sea pancakes before attempting to tame as they do NOT like you getting close. An easy tame once you get rid of the threats.

Just find one near the shore. Get a crossbow or something and shoot the mantas on the shore. Then just feed it. Their a passive tame.

Take a rifle and snipe the mantas...Problem solved

On genisis there are no mantas guarding them so it’s a free water mount basically

If your on genesis, it’s easiest to do some wave ray missions to get some focal chilli and then go swimming to look for your basilosaurus. Once you have found it, you can begin the passive tame due to the speed buff. Make sure your inventory isn’t full and that you make sure there aren’t too many mantas around because you’ll have to slaughter a couple.

Tame with raw prime fish meat NOT just fish meat! This will just make the tame percentage creep down when you want it to go up. ( at least on mobile)

Ignore the comments saying you need anything. Tame these naked on Genesis with raw meat quick and easily. Theres 0-1 mantas and after they aggro on you after the first feed kite them away and they will reset far enough away that you can easily continue your tame with boosted swimming and oxygen. Refill stam in bubbles or surface close by. Buy your meat from HLNA for a near free top tier tame. (Swim up and down to dodge the mantas as you kite)

I’m taking a level 10 one at herbivore island with just a level 12 bary and a level 30 Diplo with levels only in oxegen and the tame is going well

As soon as you feed one of these the first time all the surrounding mantas will swarm you! Bring a baryonyx to wipe them out before they do it to you!

They need meat constantly and for some reason they loose stamina for no reason.

After fully grown it will slowly start to fill up and then you can start your new powerful basilo journey

On Mobile the ichties and mantras will swim away after the first feeding but the ichties will come back after a few minutes but the mantas will go forever and will be very far away

Cannot be Tamed with raw or cooked Meat!! Taming Effectiveness will Hit 0 before it hits 100%!!!

This is great for players who want a lot of fish meat,just hop onto a ichty and go near this thing and feed it kibble(20-100 depending on level) it will take some time through so be patient,once tamed equip it with saddle and boom!!!,no megalodon or dunklectous will survive because your new pet menaces them all!!!,it can take on 100 megalodons and stay intact but watch out for stamina !!
