Don't waste time with bolas. Their sprites got bigger and bolas are old news. Use ranged weaponry while standing up above on a high rock. Would definitely recommend being at least level 21 for tranq arrows- it's especially more effective to be able to shoot the bary from a far distance to aggro it while safely perched up above a high enough rock. At level 21, I was able to tame a level 200 on mobile. My first bary. It took 5 hours of patience and grind. It will torpor run really fast; be prepared!

tamed easily with tranqs, no trap needed, just shoot when attacking another creature. do not approach in water due to spin attack that stuns you. this attack is very useful when tamed and combined with another strong aquatic tame set to attack target, such as a sarco.

They are very underrated. While they aren’t great on land in the water they have a stun locking tail spin which can stun those eels and even Alpha Megalodons and are one of the best aquatic mounts. There is also an Aberrant Variant of the Baryonyx which spawns on Aberration, Valguero, Crystal Isles, and Fjordur. The Aberrant Baryonyx is better than the regular Baryonyx

(The Island) They spawn in the swamps and rivers.

These are probably the best mounts to use while taming basilosaurus. The basilosaurus usually has a large group of stingrays around them. I have found one without the usual mob surrounding it, but it’s still a good idea to a baryonyx along for safety. What makes them helpful during the taming process is their ability to stun multiple creatures and then to dispatch them quickly. To do so I think you have to tap the left trigger(this is for Xbox)to do its stun attack. After stunning the rays you just bite them and swim to the basilosaurus and passive tame it.

Tame a male and femaleand 200% movement go on an underwater fish killing frenzy. Be careful to unload your inventory you fill up on fish meat fast.

Baryonyx is carryable by argy on mobile!

1. Craft 10 bolas (just in case)

2. Make sure you have at least 40 fish

3. Have 2 clubs or 40 tranq arrows

4. Bola the creature

5. Knock it out

6. This only works for lvls 1-10

This dino is actually pretty good. People call it a temù spino, but it doesn’t deserve that! To tame this guy, you are going to need tranq arrows, crossbow/bow, and a large bear trap. 1. Aggro the baryonyx onto you. 2. place the trap and get the baryonyx stuck in it. 3. start shooting tranq arrows at it. 4. feed it raw fish meat, raw prime fish meat, or cooked fish meat or cooked fish meat. (WARNING: ANY OTHER TYPES OF MEAT DONT WORK)

You can also use the preferred kibble to tame these guys quick.

One of the easiest tames EVER. All you have to do is bola it and knock it out in a few shots. After that feed it fish and botta bing botta boom you have yourself a Baryonyx.

Tip: If you build a trap for it you just need to build a 2x2 foundation trap and it just needs to be one wall high so 8 doorframes/walls, finally build 4 ramps for it to go in the trap. Hope this helps!

These are great for doing fish meat runs. Most water mounts such as Basils, eat fish meat as fast as they can gather it. Others such as spinos simple are a pain to use in underwater combat due to turn radios and hit box. Baryonyx gathers fas much fish meat as a spino, but better due to its stun ability and unlimited oxygen and maneuverability. Just swim right up to a megladon, stun it, chomp. Rinse and reappear. Best at fish meat gathering in my opinion. Never underestimate their stun ability!!

They heal really quick by just killing fish, they heal quite quick eating fish meat but actually just killing fish is much faster.

A good way I learned to tame these is to put a large circle of bear traps on the ground, then shoot it from the opposite side. If it breaks out of one of the bear traps, it just runs into another

They can no longer be bola'd or picked with an Argy. Best way besides a bear trap is to kite it into a taming pen and then tranq it out. A 2x3 pen with doorframes and ramps works wonders for me.

These things, as said, are incredible! They are good both on land and in the water, they are recommended for almost all the caves and only need simple fish meat to tame. A youtuber named Schwallbe has an insanely good one ( 10000 + hp 300 - 400 + atk. ) They are powerful, spawn singularly allowing you to tame it without dealing with others, and have, on brutal, high levels and lots of good stats to accompany it! Get one soon. Also, they can be bolaed, meaning you don’t really have to worry about getting hit! They take 5 - 7 arrows on easy, and yes, that may go up to something like 25 - 45 on brutal, but if we’re being honest, it’s worth the hustle.
