Tips & Strategies

What are tips for baryonyx? Tips and strategies for baryonyx in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
This thing is overpowered, and I highly recommend you tame this.
1: It's fast. This is a good utility, since mainly they're found in swamps and saddles are easy to make. This could allow a quick and safe getaway from there. It's also faster than a spinosaur in water, also a helpful factor or escapes.
2: They are easy to find. On the Island, if you go off that little water barrier thing that disconnects the main island and that Island next to it, you're almost guaranteed to find one.
3:It can jump. While it may not seem like the best factor, it can really help when escaping a spino or a Rex if you're not near water.
4: Extremley powerful. Due to its fast speed and jumping abilities, it can easily take down larger animals, like a carnotorus or even an allosaurus. This can also help in pvp situations, with a special ability I'll get to later.
5: It's easy to tame. While it cannot be bola'd, it can easily be trapped using a wooden box. Since they're found near water, fish is easy to get and is an easy knockout. (With tranq arrows)
6: It has a large health and stamina pool. While it doesn't match that of a Rex, it can certainly help in sticky situations, along with its strength and speed.
7: And lastly, it has a special ability. This is an ability I like to call, "The Spin & Stun" which is exactly what it does! The baryonyx would spin and stun everything around it. Sadly and gladly, it can only be used in water. It's sad because, well, it's in water. But it can also be very helpful for taming say, a megalodon or a mosasaur, and can be used to drown enemies. The stun lasts for around 7-8 seconds which could drain oxygen and fast, also giving the Baryonyx enough time to regenerate its stamina and fire the attack again.
And these are 7 reasons why the piscivorus Iguanadon but better, should be tamed a lot more often. Thank you for reading though, and I hope this helps!
Best early-late game dino this guy will make the ocean exploration so easy and can also kill alpha meg alone with the stun lock just avoid the cnidaria and eel
Traps are great for taming high leveled ones too
Never ever ever take one of these guys on with a pteranadon even if your friend tells you to. These Dino's can knock you off your mount and stun you for ten seconds, this is no dillo blinding attack when stunned you cannot do anything at all except watch him eat you and your dino.
These take around 8 kibble of Pachyrhino. Will take around 3 tranq darts from a longneck rifle. 4 or 5 minutes until tamed. I've tested this, Baryonyx is my favorite dinosaur. So I tested on what I'll need.
Maloi the Baryonyx.
To the guy that was wondering how to do tail spin on mobile, I don’t know but I do know that it needs to be in water. Oh and also, if you want answers on how to do something, don’t ask on Dododex because there is no ‘reply’ feature so it is completely coincidental that you find the response. Instead google it or ask around on Reddit or something.
Cant bola them anymore, learned the hard way:)
Argy’s can carry them. Carry a Bary to a taming pen, it’ll make it super easy. Plus the swamp is a horrible spot to tame anything.
Do NOT underestimate these guys. They are insanely fast and agile. I have tamed a Rex, Spino, and Theri, with 137% movement speed, and yet these still managed to kill me with full Flak armor. If you are trying to tranq them, don’t do it at even remotely close range or they will likely wreck you. My Theri, Machete, was left on passive so I could tame them without him going apeshit and killing them- turns out I was gonna need him on neutral cause I was NOT making it out of that alive because I’m dumb. I got him onto neutral pretty quickly, but not soon enough, so I was annihilated. Don’t be me, be smart. 😂
