This is for the ark mobile players (including myself) before taming anything I recommend sleeping in a simple bed before knocking out the creature you're gonna tame because it helps and I mean it HELPS alot with decreasing the food of the creature

Kill an alpha carno which can be found near the volcano and you get a bunch of prime mean, knock out the argy then bam give it all the prime meat and it’s so quick

YOO GUYS I think I just made up my own Argy trap randomly from meh brain :O Its cheap, it works well even on mountains.

I used this for trap testing:

1. A Stone Foundation

2. 2 Stone Ceilings

3. 4 Stone Railings

4. 2 Stone Pillars

After building the trap I got attention of an Argentavis and I run trough the entrance of the trap and put 1 railing behind it and BOOM. It worked lol

Quick easy tame for beginner players, make a trap with dino gates and its game on

Definitely must have tame when playing on The Island, get a decent one and you should be good for combat and transport.

How to tame an argentavis:

A lot of people like to build traps for this, but I just don’t get why

Materials:

A high level pt or another good health Dino if u have cryopods.

A bow or crossbow. Doing the hunt dilo mission will give u a good bow and I use it instead of crossbow.

40 tranqs is enough for crossbow

Process:

1. Find a high level argy

2. Feed it until full health with corpses

3. Use your tanky Dino to tank while you shoot the argy. If the argy’s about to die lead it to a corpse and it regens insanely fast.

4. Leave prime in its inventory. U do not need narcs but if u tame on normal meat then bring some narcs.

Uses:

Super useful weight reductions on I think metal crystal and other late game high tech stuff.

Carries medium-sized animals such as doedic anky and beaver so u can farm with them.

Has high damage and great stamina.

Looks very cool basically collect on the island.

If theres water nearby you dont need any traps or anything like that. Just keep going in and out of the water because the arge cant hit you if your in the water. (You can only use a crossbow because it can shoot underwater)

The saddle level should be lower. I am not a very skilled player and I could have been flying with one of these 20 engram levels ago

Argentavis can no longer be tamed using the starve method in which you activate the regen buff before you knock it out so it drains all of its food. It’s been patched my friends.

Easy trap for argy! Materials: 3 giant door Gateways and 2 gates. You can use wood or Stone, but know that wood is risky and It can escape. Place The Gateways in a LINE and keep a medium space between tem, only The sufficient for your ptero to pass through. Then, place The 2 gates in both slides, keeping The middle free and open one of The gates. Go get an argy's agro and push It to your trap. Escape by one of The sides and quickly Go close The open gate and start tranquilizing It with darts or arroz, but keep an eye on The argy's health. Good Lucky! Dont need to bring narcos If using prime meat or raw mutton. Superior Kibble is recommended, but I usually use prime or raw mutton because The level gain is almost The same.

Drag corpses to it if you want to tame it but it’s low health. They heal ridiculously fast when eating corpses.

I just tamed up a boyfriend for my female argy and I named him striker all you need to do to tame one is get some tranq arrows and meat you only need nine arrows depending on it's level once it's nocked out just feed it meat and you have an argy up this if it helps.

Real people tame this on the redwood mountain with no trap and just fish meat and tranq arrows.

If you on ark mobile use you ancient amber to buy soothing balms they are the only reason why I have one and it is super worth it

Mobile Argy Taming Guide:

Step 1. Go to the top of the volcano and start to make a trap out of either; 3 stone dino gates + 2 reinforced/normal dino doors

Step 2. Get a pteranodon + saddle and find ur argy, attack the argy so that it will follow you (argys have bad following distance to u may need to attack more then once) once its followed tou to top of volcano lead it into you trap, once in close the gates and get a good distance away from it so it dosent attack.

Step 3. Make a tiny box house place a bed or sleeping bag into it and sleep, after u wake up start to tranq the argy, when asleep the argy will have no food in so put ur meat inside the argy and it shouldnt take a while to tame, once done u have ur very own argy!

Extra Tip. If u get a breeding pair breed them at the top of the volcano since it will only require 1-3 torchesto incubate, once fully grown the original female will be ready to mate again!

It’s really easy to tame these early game even if you can’t ride them yet, I’ve had them as a air defense for a bit, just make a 2x2 or 3x3, bottom walls are actually doorways and top ones are actual walls and don’t forget the roof, leave one wall completely open and have a friend or yourself shoot the argy with a tranq and run in and block off the wall, they’ll damage the walls but won’t break, I’ve done this with a 145 argy

What they don’t tell you is that the head hit box is so small that you’ll end up getting a body shot no matter what so make sure you have more than enough tranqs

I always find the easiest way to k.o them is pulling them to the top of the volcano and running towards its feet fired darts or arrows. At the top when they attempt to run away they don't really fly up.

I was so lucky with taming me first one, as soon as it was close to being knocked out it flew away and I ran out of darts, it glitched into a wall and I was able to punch it unconscious lol 🤣

There is no point to have a trap have a pt and shoot it fly away make it follow you then shot it again then repeat
