Dunno if it’s a bug or something but on mobile, nothing seems to ever attack it, tamed or not. However, hostile mobs will still Agro onto you, so just be careful not to use this in caves (you WILL be swarmed) I learned the hard way with that last one.

Fun fast tame. I flew around my base on one and every little bump can send you flying. Be careful if you are on a tame because I was attacking a bronto with my spino and it died.

When I tried to pick one up from a tree in the redwoods with my pt once I picked one up it literally would disappear immediately afterwards. Someone tell me why :(

These are hard for me to tame but here’s the steps:Step 1: Get bola tranqs and chitin

(aka bug drops)Step 2:Find archa they spawn in redwoods near and on trees .Step 3 once tamed can be used as a parachute.Step 4:Enjoy your archaeopteryx!😄

Realy more of a question but how do I get it to attack sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t

Sense breeding and taming takes chitin I recommend taking a bary or your preferred cave creature and kill Spiders and Scorpions I got 300 from one trip :)

While the Archaeopteryx is sitting on yoyr shoulder, you CAN'T target anything to make your tames attack. Also wasn't able to use the Awesome Spyglass (the mod that tells you dinos stats).

It seems like it's legs are blocking your vision. A shame, I hope this gets fixed soon. With this bug it's currently useless.

What I would do is take a tapejara over to the redwood forest, hang onto the trees, and shoot tranq darts from a crossbow.

The reason why they eat chitin is possibly a reference to the real life archaeopteryx.Since chitin is dropped by insects and bugs,The paleontologists who discovered the archa thought it ate insects, therefore having chitin as kibble to the Archeopteryx

Make sure you have loads of chitin before going to the redwood forest because there’s barley any there unless you attack a giant bee hive

The Archeopterx.....ah.....one of the newer additions to Ark. I find them to be a very fast creature(I'd use a Bola to tame them), and a useful one at that.

Worth its time limit for tame. And remember one thing, not that easy to find.

However, It's easier to find in Scorched Earth than the normal one.

usually one or two flying around above the tree tops. use a ptera with full stamina to grab it and fly to a taming building. easy and quick tame using chitin

gets scared very easily, flys away really fast too, try to sneak up on these or use camo and bola it

I finally tamed one I was the same guy from tape Jara section who lived in redwoods I loved these little guys so I wanted to tame and I did today he actually saved me from terrorbirds because I almost fell off my tape Jara and he glided so I named him earl the and my Otter Wilson are good friends who chill on my redwoods tree platform he also saved Wilson's live by camouflage him also these guys are the most best creatures they are a living parachute also they don't eat chitin after tame on mobile they eat raw meat I think because my one only ate raw meat not the chitin so I guess it wont eat chitin so I'm saving it to tame earl a female archeop the guy seems lonely so I'm gonna mate and take da lil guy on adventures

Someone said you can’t tame by bola on ground on mobile. That’s not true, i try to catch ones with bola then shot with bow and tranq arrow, it WORK. but have to use something like larger storage bc it high enough to cover you from wild animals and it won’t let archa run if they awake
