ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Tips & Strategies
This is what bug repellent was made for . To tame insect type Dino such as these !!!!
Tamming effeciency is way off and amount of spoiled meat needed. Time to tame is accurate though. Just grab the spider with an argy and drop it in 1x1 2 walls high and you look at its legs and feed it
(ArkAscended, might work on evolved idk). If taming these in Lower South Cave you can aggro them from across the water and wait for them to start swimming across. Then jump over them into the water and they lose interest in you. They will try to swim back across and return to their original spot. You can then swim up under them and feed them without worrying about them attacking. Rinse and repeat. No bug repellant or Ghillie required! You’re welcome!
I was very noob when I first entered a cave. I walked by one of these dudes hiding inside a bush. Then, it spat web at me. I was very alarmed by that and thought I couldn’t move so I didn’t bother run. I tried killing it with my stone hatchet but after all I was still noob so I died in the end.
They should make this effect same as net gun or shoot zip lines that decay
Go to extinction. Put a tent over the spider. EZ tame
fairly easy tame. take a kapro and something a bit better at fighting into the lower south cave. clear the cave out of anything dangerous and make sure u completely empty one of the water pools of enemies. then go find a max level spider pick it up and dunk it in the water, hop off the kapro, feed the spider, drag the spider back onto land so it won’t drown. give it few seconds and dunk the spider back in to feed it again. repeat till tamed. putting these things in the water forces them to deaggro and allows you to feed them without bug repellent. usually they drown before you can complete the process but with a kapro you can dunk and redunk ur spoodler to keep them alive during the process. hope this helped
(Mobile) After tame: Abysmal speed, health, and weight, 10 damage on main attack that does 10 torpor per 10 secs, stacks for a maximum of 2 times for 20 torpor over 20 secs...honestly, what is the point of taming this? Just like the Pachy(again, mobile), there is literally nothing that this creature can do that others can't do better. Invisible glitch? Get a scorpion. Better torpor? Scorpion. pvp? Arthropluera, which is somehow easier to tame than this spider. (lv 150 takes 2 spoiled meat with 10× soothing balm when spider takes 6-7.) Web attack? If you can do a cave run easily, what do you need that for?? Besides, dilos can do slow too. Again, before you attempt to tame one, think about why you want it in the first place. *Stares at newly tamed lv 224 araneo* Useless.
Tame rate for the araneo in ark mobile is super nerfed, in single player, a level 100 got 3.1% with rotten meat
Found a heap of them in lava cave got webbed and died up so others don't suffer
ARK! I hope ark devs see this. Anyway to the point. Araneos need to take bubbles of air down with them when they go underwater! In real life spiders will carry air bubbles down with them on their tiny hairs on their body. This way they can breathe up to four hours. Depending on body size in air amounts. Anyway do you think we could see some of the bubbles and as a rider breathe from them too? I’d like this as a realistic update and not for fun. You wonder why that one spider never dies when you try to drown it in the toilet? It’s a fish. A fishspider. A hairy brown fanged fish. Vote up so devs see this and we get us some fishspiders! Araneoooo

Overwhelmed in South Cave on mobile. Shotgun was way too slow for the numbers. Going to return with a Sabertooth. I’ll post results 😳 Hold me mommy I’m scared 😱 😂
Lots spawn at the castle on Rag
If the araneo is in the water, you are invisible to its Agro
Go in cave and tame it and no no no don't knock it out use rotten meat and bug repellent
Kinda wish these guys had a turret mode for the webs. Prettyuch be free plants you don't have to fertilize. To compensate though I just tamed a few high level dimorphodons to follow it, waited it down with stone so it couldn't move, and set it on aggressive with the highest radius. Set dimorphodons on attack my target and boom. Free turret.
Cactus broth and bug repellent help a lot
