As of the latest patch they collect pearls when you bite them.

This is kind of horrific amd not the most humane thing, but here goes. You can get a few of these, breeds them, and kill the children for angler gel. Just saying 😶

On ASA go to bottom left of the map all the way to world border corner for loads of pearls

Want infinite fuel?

1. Get yourself a simple underwater tame like a meg

2. Kill anglers for gel

3. Store and keep burning in standing torches or refinery

( STANDING AND WALL TORCHES BURN BLUE)

I collect this with a plesiosaur and can burn 700 metal with just 30. Lucky I collected 5000

People keep saying use angler gel for fuel, but that’s a waste. Use wood so you can then get charcoal for gunpowder, something that you constantly need.

5 Tips for Anglers

#1 They are found a bit deeper in the water

#2 They are a pain to kill you might want to have a dolphin with very high melle to kill these guys

#3 You will mostly find them in big groups

#4 They are calm until you hit 1 of them

#5 They are creepy and are all around Herb Island on mobile

Best creauture in the game for silica pearls, but are week so will need a strong bodyguard

I don’t know what use they have when tamed but the gel is needed for the electric prod which is really good for pvp

The tek cave update gave the anglers the ability to gather pears, according to the wiki

- Main use is after tamed they will attract more anglers which can be harvest for gel

- Secondary use would be a mobile underwater tame that also has a built in light

- Lastly they can be harvested for gel which tames Manta's

(Angeler gel is the longest burning fuel source at 6 min per gel)

Within 10 minutes, I can get 5k pearls with him. Provides lots of light, and he lights my underwater base. Very fast. A must have tame

They get a lot of silica pearls when you attack the shells with it.

Anglers are pretty useful for getting pearls under water. (You can travel them around in fish baskets or cryo pods) but they also drop angler gel which could be useful

Need a lot of pearls ? ... Then you really want a lightbulb fishy :)
