Fun fact, Arks anglers are only half correct, you see only the females are big and powerful, the males are tiny and puny and all they do is attach to the female and then get absorbed by her, she steals his privates and then uses it to reproduce. She can do this as many times as she wants, with multiple males fused to her sides as she so pleases. This may sound disturbing, but there's a reason for this, angler live in the deep sea where it's dark and death can loom around the corner, and food can be quite scarce an elusive, so by having the males fuse to a female shortly after birth, allows them to co exist without competing with each other. This is also seen in spiders, but the spiders are less extreme, with the males just being smaller and eating something else, or hunting on the ground in opposition to the female on the web. Of course just like how the titaboa doesn't constrict its prey in ark, things like this are hard to program and difficult to balance. This would no doubt make angler breeding in ark absolutely OP, with allowing the female to select between differnt males to breed with on the same creature.

It seems there is a strange circular underwater hill near herbivore island that is apsolutely crawling with anglers, how many does that mran? Well I've seen about the entire rest of the ocean's population of anglers all at that hill

Whether it's size is caused by adaptation to The Island's other inhabitants, or by cross-breeding with another larger species, Melanocetus anglerpescum is the largest form of Anglerfish I've ever heard of. Typically found among the deepest, darkest expanses of the ocean, this creature preys on smaller fish while being an excellent source of food for larger predators. Melanocetus has an array of bioluminescent light pods at the end of stalks on its head. Like typical Anglerfish, it primarily uses these to attract smaller creatures and trick them into coming close enough for Melanocetus to consume the prey. This often makes wild Melanocetus itself relatively easy to spot among the briny depths.

They spawn a lot in the Ice Cave on the Island. Since they’re in a cave they respawn fast too. My tribe leader made it out of there with multiple stacks of angler gel. It was actually starting to encumber him.

If these angler going after your tame just bite them they are like “why this thing so strong” “this is not good i must swim away” and just like that you can chase them k i l l them and harvest with an axe

If u are for some reason in the deep water (witch I very much don't recommend) and u run into this thing just use a crossbow but if u don't have one yet just use a spear -Big Bill
