Tips & Strategies

What are tips for angler? Tips and strategies for angler in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
I dont have one yet, but id guess that a sarco would be helpful to tame one as they are fast and u can use weapons while mounted.
Best pearl gatherer on abberation hella useful but if the angler is too low of level they die easily to piranhas so be careful
Why don’t they attack you in the snow cave?????
Use their melee attack on pearls to gather more pearls. Decent little water tames to farm pearls with.
Beware: can be in schools of over 100 in some trenches.
If you only have access to a crossbow, trap it get it low but if it isn’t knocked out but bleeding bad, bring a dead fish to heal it then keep tranqing it with cross bow. It works without harpoon
Anglers do aggro on you and your tames on ark mobile. They aren't neutral.
They flee after getting bitten once. Weird.
Anglerfish will damage wood. With that said, build a cage on your plesiosaur platform and trap it like a quetz. So much easier.
Since they tend to retreat and charge after taking some damage, having a fast water mount (or at least flippers) is good to get off and back on when trying to ko or kill. I prefer the Sarco for its AoE bite against multiple and infinite stamina in water (however it only has one speed in water anyways, but it's still fairly quick depending on level). If escape is necessary bite it with the Sarco when it gets too close and swim away when the angler retreats. Crossbows (and most, if not every, other weapon) do work on its back, if you'd rather not get off.
They can now harvest silica pearls, much easier to farm on the island now
These are THE best tool now for pearls! Hands down.
kill a really good one from the ice cave and revive it. DONT REVIVE IT AT THE OBELISK. instead, put a revival platform in water then revive it. make sure to put it at the shore for easier taming
Make a small two by two trap in the water then use arrows or a harpoon gun to knock it outo make sure the area is clear before taming
Prefer REGULAR Kibble, not simple.
