To get a lot of angler gel, tame a direwolf and take it inside the strong cave(Snow cave). Clear the area around the first water body near the extrance and kill anglers to get a ton of angler gel. You can go further in the cave of you can handle that to get even more gel.

To make the anglers respawn, move out of the just until to just reach the opening of the dome entrance, wait for some time, and repeat.

Adventure log- Angler aka goofy fish is one of the many creatures that lurk in the deep oceans of various maps. The have a light source that holds angler gel, which is bright and can craft light sources, like the attachable flashlight for tools an weapons. They are the only way too get it so far. On the Island, (Map) You can find them in the deepest layers of the surrounding ocean, specificly at the Twilight layer (there are layers in the ocean that differ from how much sunlight each layer gets) when observing them, make sure that you have SCUBA gear, acuatic tame, and that there are no dangerous creatures around. I belive that we need to know more of creatures that lurk amoung us in Ark!

Emerald forest Valguero has ones in shallow water and are easier to kill and to tame.

Use a high damage crossbow to avoid accidently killing the angler. If you dont have such a crossbow its highly advised to use tranq darts: however you need to lure the angler into a water cave and shooting it within as longneck rifles cant be use in water. Good luck

There angler gel is a amazing fuel source and when u put them in standing torches the anglergel puts of a blue burn

Anglers are found in the deeper parts of the ocean, finding them is as one would guess easy as their lures are easy to see at a distance, they are comparatively easy to kill for gel ( taming food for Mantas and the best fuel in game ) but in groups exceeding three then I suggest running, best take a megaladon.

Also can be lured by other tamed anglers lures.

I tamed a lvl 46 and he is all I ride underwater
