Utility Tips
What is a achatina used for? achatina battling strategies in ARK: Survival Evolved.
TIPP: Achatinas can produce organic Polymer. You can just craft a fridge with the organic Polymer and destroy it. Every time you destroy a fridge you get normal Polymer back. That means you can transform organic Polymer to normal Polymer. I found it out yesterday by myself.
Pls ⬆️ this Tipp so everyone can read it!
(It also works with organic Oil from the Basilo)
Pump levels in food if you don’t have much resources to craft more veggie cakes. Tek troughs best to preserve veggie cakes longer.
Can’t recall if pump more levels in weight if it increases the amount of paste and poly it produces.
Turn org poly into normal poly by crafting in into frig or ac’s, place frig/ac down and then tear down frig/ac.
Can place in a cage or a small 1x1 pen, it can’t go through fences.
Passive snail paste. It’s same as cementing paste.
On mobile if it dies, just keep its implant in its inventory. Click on the implant and should give you option to revive without needing revival platform or obelisk. Can’t recall if it saves you from using amber to revive it this way. But this glitch can save from taming a new one.
I have 10 of these and never have a issue with paste... ever. I have flown 3 argies full of obsidian back to base and ran out of that before the paste. Also makes repairing gillie suit so much easier. Any time it breaks I run to the snail shed and have enough organic poly to repair pretty much anything.
It has 100 organic polymer and 100 cp everytime you login if you put it on wandering. If you has 2 achatina you can get 200 polymer and cp. So, here the trick , you just collect it in their inventory and manual save and logout and login again and collect again in their inventory. Repeat until you get the amout you want. REMINDER!! You only can put below 700 organic polymer in fabricator. If you need to craft something that use above 700 polymer in fabricator , you need to craft normal polymer for it. As example, you need to craft ascendant pumpup shotgun, you 2000+ polymer. So, you just craft 1400+ normal polymer and use 700 organic polymer and you get 2000+ polymer.(sorry for my broken english)
So... Achatinas! The Snaily Bois!
These will give you Cementing Paste (or rather, Achatina Paste which functions exactly the same as Cementing Paste if left on wandering).
Found in the swamps and usually killed by the stronher creatures around, tanes these bad bois up, set them to wandering and get as much paste as you need!
(or use the big frog, but where is the fun (or snails) in that!)
If anyone’s having trouble getting lots of cementing paste for crafting stuff, this is the tip for you! Since achatina paste is similar to cementing paste you can use it for crafting stuff that needs cementing paste.
First, build a small building without a ceiling. Make sure there’s a door so you can get in and out and collect the paste. My building is 4x4 and made of thatch. It can probably fit 3-4 or more snails. Then grab a pteronodon or argy and fly to the swamp south of the redwood forest.
Go somewhat near the mountain with metal on it and you’ll find plently of snails there. Pick the snails up with your flying mount and drop them in your building. Then whenever you need cementing paste just go to your building and collect the achatina paste and get crafting!
Make sure you have a pteronodon or argy because you will need a flying mount to drop the snails in the building.
Only get one of these AFTER you have set up a redwood platform for tree sap. And AFTER you have mastered stealing honey from bees, or tamed 2 or 3 queen bees. Once tamed, just build a little 2x2 room with no roof and keep the snails in there. I level only food stat and I have 6 snails right now. When breeding, THEY ALL GET PREGNANT! So you can easily increase their numbers if you have the cake production. The snail team produces like 100+ organic polymer by the time i log in each day(each snail has 16 on it currently and over 3k food each so I dont need to feed them everyday) which I use to turn into metal arrows and any upgraded guillie suit pieces and use crafted polymer for the major items.
