Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a achatina? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a achatina.
they love knockoff hostess cupcakes
More cakes required than said they wait 30 seconds so their game meter goes down
Lvl 150- 130 narcotics, 44 sweet veggie cakes, 1 hour 30 minutes tame time
Level 100 took 2 tranq arrows, 29 cakes, about 60 narcotics
Taming time for this is really inaccurate as well as the amount of narcotics
I just stole one from the swamp with my Pteranodon and dropped it in a little thatch home because i didnt have any cakes
I don’t know how the frick I can get giant bee honey i put a beehive on a redwood tree and it wasn’t working btw I’m in ark mobile
Cake + rear = tamed snail,
Achatina can be hard to tame and maintain but they are well worth it, so here’s a guide to tame one
1. You MUST use tranq darts. Tranq arrows will do too much damage, and make it hide in its shell, and it will not knock out. You will also need to prepare veggie cakes before you tame it, because it is the only food that it eats to tame.
2. These are found in the swamp, and on the edge of the redwoods. I recommend using a flyer like an argy to pick it up and move it to a safe location. You can knock it out and tame it in the swamp but there are lots of hostile crocodilians and snakes that would like to eat you and your snail, so be prepared to deal with them you don’t need a trap because they are slow but if you want to use one to keep it safe you can
3. It will take at max 10ish tranqs to knock, so you don't need to make a ton. I HIGHLY recommend NOT starve taming it, because if you starve it too much, it will be really hungry when it is tamed, and you will need to feed it even more veggie cakes, because that is the only food they eat when wild or tamed.
Happy taming!
When dealing with the taming bug. Keep 2 cakes in it's inventory at a time. As soon as it eats deposit another cake. Depending on how fast you do this, you should only lose 0.7 taming per bite.
Kill effectively to increase everything and tame a lot of animals
Taming
For general info about domesticating a wild creature see Taming.
KO Strategy
Since damage is significantly reduced by the shell, it is best to hit it on the soft, fleshy parts instead. If it takes enough damage, it will retreat into its shell, making it very easy to kill it before the torpor from tranquillizers can knock it out. Be mindful of how bloody the Achatina gets, and use Shocking Tranquilizer Darts or normal Tranquilizer Darts to minimize this risk.
Can be tamed using vegetable cake
At level 86 I dropped 30 narc arrows into this thing and it still didn’t pass out.... we may have an addict on our hands...
They actually lose a little bit of taming percetage each time they eat a cake. This is because the 30 second cooldown timer on the cakes. So during this 30 seconds it is loosing taming percentage. I had one losing 0.8 percent each time, which made me need 10 more cakes than what dododex says, also needing much more narcotic to keep unconscious longer because of the loss. The game devs need to fix this bug or you will be short everytime.
NOT carriable by tapejara. I tried it, I could not pick it up. Ptera worked however.
You know it out by hitting it in the face hole or the but hole when you knok it out you will need sweet vegetables cake to tame it.go look on dodo dex stew page to see what it takes
Even though I have 10 veggie cakes in his inventory, it says "put food in inventory to tame" and I'm losing small amounts of taming percentage (but not taming effectiveness). Weird bug, must have something to do with the cool down everytime it eats.

Once tamed, even on wandering it's hunger will go down slower than when you are almost full on weight. Takes around a week for it to need to be fed. So no need to rush with the sweet vegie cakes!
So it seems it's taking longer, using more cakes and narc then what it says it's ment to.. also effectiveness is lower aswell
