Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a yutyrannus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a yutyrannus.
When I was taming my yutyrannus it was a little ez, all you need to do is kill the carno or when the yutyrannus and carnos are fighting hit the yutyrannus and trap it,pit 9 stone block on the ground where you want to team it and 24 walls and 4 or 2 lage trap and leave 1 side open and if you want you can leave a dead body in the trap and block off the open side when you get the yutyrannus in the trap
How to tame a Yuty with 3 large bear traps, a longneck and some tranqs:
1. Locate Yuty.
2. Align large bear traps in a straight line (each one has a bit of distance in between) a good distance away from the Yuty.
3. Clear area of large creatures, as they may fall into the traps.
4. Wait until the Yuty and it’s carnos move in to attack something.
5. Shoot the Yuty with a tranq after it has roared. The Yuty will then chase you while the carnos continue attacking their first target.
6. Shoot as many tranqs into the Yuty as you can while running back to the bear trap line set before.
7. Yuty will run over and become trapped in the bear trap, allowing the player to pump tranqs into it.
8. Kill the Yuty’s carnos, who were far too late in their task of defending their master, and feed the Yuty the carno meat >:)
9. Name it Abunga
NOTE: technically only 1 bear trap is needed if you perform perfectly, however I like to have backups placed in case a trap or two are tripped on accident, or it takes more than 1 trap for the Yuty to knock out (the higher the level, the higher the chance this will happen).
In my opinion this is way more resource and time efficient than a traditional stone wall trap. Hope this helps! :3
Last time I tamed me one seemed the Yuty yell did not effect my Quetz in any way.
The carnos are simps kill them so that they don't kill you and your team end up messing up your taming.
Easy to tame with a net gun and managarmr, kill carnos with mana jump away to a safe distance net the creature and boom you knocked it out
I once perched on a wall with a desmodus while trying to get a good look at a yuti. Obviously, it saw me and roared and scared my bat but my bat didn't even move, he just stuck to the wall with the dark blurred fear effect or whatever. So if you are taming a yuti, I highly recommend a bat as you can also shoot off of them while flying or perched.
For those that don’t want to make a trap to tame this dino (due to their posse of Carnos), there are other ways!
I rode a Quetzal to taunt and draw the Yuty away from the Carnos since most stopped to attack mammoths and megatheriums.
After you get the Yuty alone, dismount your Quetzal while standing on top to fire tranqs (or other KO ammo) over the side.
Sometimes the Yuty will stand underneath the Quetzal completely, so don’t push it and accidentally fall off the side, just move the Quetzal to a better vantage point and keep going.
Once knocked out completely, I noticed the Carnos never came back to where I drew him off to making it much safer!
I don’t tend to use traps for my tames so this strat seemed easiest for me.
Land on ice burg snipe out carnos and tranq the yuty build spike walls around
No need for a lot of narcotics it’s a slow torpor drop
Ease tame
My new favorite dinosaur. And pretty easy to tame if you have a doedicurus for stone
Build a 2x2 stone trap with 2 high stone doorways (so u can get out and with a ramp of your choice and kill carnos that will follow it and just tranq until it drops. I got the help from a yt so credit to him for getting me a yuti. Have fun with your new dodo on steroids
When taming on Scorched, it’s good idea to use the Lymantria gas to slow it down while your partner can run after it and tranq it, if you don’t want to use traps. Works with other dinos too 🙌🏻
I would highly reccomend getting on a high place or use a Dino as bait
You can use stone behemoth gateways and gates
I recommend being extremely careful flying around areas where a Yuti may spawn, as it’s roar attack will send your flier into a frenzy and potentially into danger. To tame, try trapping it and shooting tranq arrows or darts (I wouldn’t recommend anything else as this may either 1. Waste materials, or 2. Damage the Yuti so it either loses taming effectiveness or kills it) into its side/back, as the head does more damage instead of more torpor. These are great fighters and amazing for boss fights, especially when paired with Daeodons for healing!
Once you made your trap you fly your creature (if it can get fear roared), (argy for example)a little high that the roar cannot reach you but the yuty can agru on you then guide it to the trap and knock it out and then it's yours
That's actually the method that I've used and it worked:D
I swear every time I see one it’s level 130 or more lol just my luck so now we got the best yutys on the server.
Here’s how I ko
I make a 3 by 3 foundation
Then enough doorframes to make it 2-3 tall then 4-6 ramps depending on how tall the trap is
Then I find the yuty or yutys and trap them
After that I grab my wyvern, darts and some podded ovis
Ko each yuty
Un pod the ovis
Use the wyverns ability fire, ice, poison, lightning or the others and kill the ovis then feed the mutton to the yutys
My yuty stats are 9.2k up 1930 Stam 356 damage
No mutations
Hope you get better all

These guys are usually difficult to tame just because they stupidly go ahead and attack everything in the area. They just love danger.
The Yuty does have one very exploitable weakness, as it fancies itself a good swimmer. It is not. Lead it into the water to get away or separate it from it's cronies.
You can net them and place gates around it
I made a trap then lured it in with a kangaroothis thing had like 20 direwolfs with it and it scared me so much I almost died
Super simple trap:
4-5 stone pillars
1 large bear trap
Building it:
Place a pillar and then place a bear trap right in front of you and then to the left and right of the bear trap place another Stone pillar. And for more ease put another Stone pillar behind one of them and then lore the yutty into the trap once the bear trap is activated place the final Stone pillar closing the gap.
