Tips & Strategies
Sprints slightly faster than an allo, easy to maneuver, can go over obsticles similar to an allo, stamina drain and recovery somewhat similar to allo, slightly more than a Spino and slightly less than a Rex with damage per hit, health and weight equivalent to a Rex, one of the roars can scare off almost all dinos (some need to be roared at more than once) which is great for protecting an unconcious tame, the other roar bolsters the combat prowess of nearby tames and can temporarily make wild carnos an ally. Yutyrannus is an amazing mount to have. There are a few cons though. Very slow attack speed, if standing still you have to wait for the attack to finish before you can move again (sounds silly but try it and see what I mean), has a lower starting melee damage percentage when tamed and gains less per lvl when compared to mounts of similar size (ex. Yutyrannus starts with about 260% and gains about 4-5% per lvl up, Rex starts with about 330% and gains about 5-6% per lvl up), low dps.
I just use the large bear trap method
Depending on your level and Materials you have. large bear traps are pretty cheap to craft. Craft five or more depending on how comfortable you feel.
And use any method of tranquilizing you like.
Tip: when your timing something it never hurts to go a little bit above of what you need in materials.
1. Find the fluffy t Rex. When you find one make sure you’re pretty close but not too close for it to notice you.
2. Place down all the bear traps in a line.
3. Once all your Bear traps have opened. Try to get the attention of the fluffy t Rex. Just shoot it once or go up to it (if you’re brave enough). Once you have its attention run to the first beer trap in the row of bear traps you’ve place down.
4. Once it’s caught in the bear trap you wanna run to the last bear trap in the row. You Want to have the bear traps between you and the fluffy t Rex. And that way you can start shooting it. and as it breaks each bear trap and try’s to come toward you it steps on another Bear trap getting it’s self stuck.
And depending on what tranquilize method you use you probably won’t have to worry too much about it running away but they’re pretty slow. I use this method for almost every dinosaur I tame that can fit in a large bear trap.
Be careful encountering these on a high mountain while on a non flying tame. Long story short your tame will get so scared it'll jump off and commit suicide. Its roar is no joke....
Easy tame method:Make 2 by 2 trap stone with doorframe as walls and 4 ramps on one side then take a wyvern and run in front of yuty he/she will follow you then lead them to trap
I use wyverns to tame these, as wyverns are not affected by the scare roar thing. Just find a place it can’t climb to get you, then just tranq it. Once it runs get on your wyvern and chase it, then corner it and knock him out. Not the most safe way but it works.
My first time seeing me of these:
Yooooo that’s a troodon
It has feathers, its fluffy, it is the tickle chickens brother
My new favorite dinosaur. And pretty easy to tame if you have a doedicurus for stone
Build a 2x2 stone trap with 2 high stone doorways (so u can get out and with a ramp of your choice and kill carnos that will follow it and just tranq until it drops. I got the help from a yt so credit to him for getting me a yuti. Have fun with your new dodo on steroids
Here’s a tip for early to mid gamers on Crystal Isles! If there is a Yuti, get a flyer, prolly a wyvern and lead it off a cliff, you can also kill off the Carno’s with its breath! Then use a Thyla and shoot it from whatever angle you can manage!
I was working on building my end-game base, when a 140 started stalking a little too close to my base. I funguses since my base was pretty big I could just shoot it from inside my base and it would be fine. I shot her until she started running, and for the next few hours I kept doing that until I got her into a ravine and she was knocked out in no time! I still have her, my first ever Yuti!
Happy Taming!
This thing got the same base stats of the rex, it's just a smaller and fluffy rex that has a buff roar and a debuff roar, you can literally skip the rex unless you want the tek rex or the tek saddle but you'll have to do boss fights for the tek saddle, but I still think the Yuti is better unless you put him against a tek rex, anyways you can just try to skip the rex and tame this also because it's a big fluff alpha dodo
Yuty's are almost the perfect ground tame for rampaging (outclassed by shadowmanes and so on) and the perfect tame to bring into a boss fight as a support, but because of their ludicrously slow stam regen, you're better off not using them in really dangerous environments or in the ocean unless you mutate their stam to high hell or plan to sit still for 25 seconds after 3 or so fights
Why are yall fighting broodmother with rexes?? The megatherium is where its at. They get a natural buff with insects and plus the yuty roar they are down right beasts that can take on anything
Easiest way to tame one: go find one(I found a lot near the blue obelisk), pick off carno's with argy. Place behemoth gateway and gate, open gate, behind behemoth gateway place another behemoth gateway without gate this time.
Place a third behemoth gateway with a gate closed behind the one you just placed. (Make sure behemoth gateways are close to each other, I mean... CLOSE!) Place large beartrap inside the trap, then lead it into trap. Close gate and tranq. When done tranqing wait for it to starve (bring narcotics just incase) last step... feed it. Now it is yours. (Try to bring an empty cryopod)
Use a netgun, trust me It'll be much easier to tame.I actually foumd the 2 150 x yuti males today very close to each other tamed them both, and named the first one call of yuti World at roar
It take 6 hours to tame it with fish meat!
1 hour for normal meat
