How to tame a Wyvern!

First, let’s prepare!

What you need: A fast flyer; a pteranodon will work, but put a lot of points in stamina.

Some points in fortitude; it is very hot in the Wyvern trench.

How to tame

Fly to the Wyvern trench and find a nest. Make sure no Wyverns are nearby so they don’t aggro on you. Be very quick and fly down to the nest, dismount, grab the egg, and get the heck out of there!! Once you take the egg, every Wyvern will aggro on you and follow you for hundreds of meters. If you are on ragnarok then you can fly to the redwoods and use the trees to trap the Wyvern. It also doesn’t matter the level of Wyvern yet, because you can always come back once you have a full grown Wyvern and get actual good eggs.

Now that you have an egg, you now need to hatch and raise it. I would put down standing torches in a semi circle then light it up one by one until it starts incubating. Once hatched, you will then need Wyvern milk to feed it or it will die. To do this you need to find a female Wyvern and knock it out. In its inventory there will be Wyvern milk that you can take and feed it to your Wyvern. I would recommend the universal flyer trap, the stone gateway (Behemoth stone gateways) trap. If you don’t want to do this you can use a snow owl to heal it up too. Imprinting will also sometimes need milk also.

Now for some neat utilities!

Wyverns come in 4 different types, fire, lightning, poison, and ice. Each has their own abilities based on their type. They can pick up other Dino’s up to the size of an allosaurus.

Now you have tamed a Wyvern!

To get milk easily watch captain fat dog trap on YouTube it works quite well

F Bison with a baby/juvenile/adolescent out will produce milk that can be used for Wyverns in place of wyvern milk.

IMPORTANT:

Wyvren eggs weigh 50 kg, so make sure that you have decent weight

ez as heck to tame mid game on fjordur. just get a desmodus, fly in, grab the egg, and bolt the hell out. Just spam a buncha standing torches and now you have a wyvern on fjordur. Got one before I got a fabricator.

Hello, would it be considered cheating if I spawned in zombie wyverns on non-modded Xbox ASE?, considering you cannot obtain them properly ever again?

I just think it’d be cool to have them, and they’re a part of ark history in Ase that I never truly got to tame back when they were obtainable,

So is it cheating ? And can you even spawn them? I assume you can since you can keep them forever from the event after it ended,

Get in grab egg and get out fast

The way I get eggs on Ragnarok is I fly down into the trench on a griffin and I have my tribemate on the side of the trench wait on a rex. When I get an egg I fly up towards the rex and it kills the wyverns then I go back down into the trench and repeat. Hope this helps sorry for the bad grammar.

If you want to tame a wyvern, read this:

#1: Get a flyer that has good health, speed, and stamina. (I recommend a pteranodon or griffin for speed or bat for near invisibility at night)

#2: Fly to the Wyvern Trench and land outside of it to regain stamina. But be careful of the wyverns inside.

#3: Drop as much gear as possible before you go in because wyvern eggs weigh a lot.

#4: Get the first egg you see. If you can't find one, leave because the wyverns could kill you. After a bit, you can go back in. (Force new egg spawns by killing nearby dinos or killing wyverns if that doesn't work)

#5: Once you find an egg and grab it, fly out as fast as you can. If wyverns come out of the trench farther than excpected, fly next to a bronto or anything big so the wyverns will attack it instead. (I'd say before you grab the egg, turn your flyer around so you don't waste time turning around after you grab it)

#6: If you escaped successfully, get to your base and place 15-20 torches because wyverns need extreme heat to hatch. Egg Incubators and campfires also work.

#7: Wait a few days for the egg to hatch. Egg Incubators make it take only 30 minutes.

#8: Before the egg hatches, find some female wyverns and milk them by knocking them out because wyverns only eat Wyvern Milk until adulthood.

#9: Once the egg hatches, claim the baby by naming it. Then immediately start feeding it Wyvern Milk. (If the baby won't eat the milk and you're panicking, force feed it the milk)

#10: The maturation will take days but Egg Incubators make it a day and a half.

#11: When the maturation bar is around halfway full of almost full, the wyvern will want either to walk with you, be hand fed, or cuddle, by having a sign above name. I highly recommend do this because it will give 100% imprint. (For example, the pacifier sign means it wants to be hand fed)

#12: Once the taming bar meets 100%, you can finally ride on the wyvern and it doesn't take Wyvern Milk anymore and instead eats meat. (They eat all kinds)

Name tip: If you have a male lightning wyvern, name or Thor or Zeus

You could put turrets down so while you leave the turrets can shoot them down

Trust me use a griffin for this they are so good for getting eggs especially since they can dive bomb

You can give the wyvern babies bison milk. Tame a few bison and you are set

You do not need milk all you need is a cryopod.

SURVIVOR GUIDE: WYVERNS

Wyverns are large dragons missing their front limbs. First appeared on scorched earth, the wyverns terrorized a small town. In a few Raja tablets they mention the dragons were real but no one took them seriously. 5 types of wyverns including a subspecies called crystal

wyverns. Fire is found in Balheimr, lightning in Asgard, Poison in Vannaheim, and ice in Joitenheim fjorder.Crystal wyverns can be found on Crystal isles.NOW STORY TIME. I just finished getting a rock drake in fjorder and wanted to see what it could do. I found the trench so I went invisible and got a very bad egg (LvL 13) but wyverns started to see me so I got out. I named him Thor and as I am writing this he is adolescent. Thor is of course, a lightning wyvern. HOW TO GET EGGS.

You need to locate a trench and do what you think you need to do. Gas mask for poison wyverns! Use a rock drake or desmodus to do almost all of them.go invisible and steal an egg. All the wyverns will see you if your invisible or not. Get out of the trench and use an egg incubator. RASING. You do not need milk just a cryopod. Cryopod the wyvern and it will change what it wants.

You can use a rhyniognatha to get wyvern milk, here’s how, get the attention of a wyvern, then fly backwards and slightly down, this should give enough time to knock out the wyvern

It’s really easy to get a wyvern on a maewing and maewings spawn commonly in the plains of lost island and the redwoods of fjourdur and gen 2

So, I've been a wyvern breeder for several years and the only time I worry about milk is to imprint.

If you have the time, just keep HEALING the hatched baby wyvern WITH a SNOW OWL instead of farming milk. It's entirely unnecessary.

For the Snow Owl I recommend 5,000 STAMINA as a bare minimum requirement. You'll be healing very often at first.

Personally my snow owls usually have 10k stamina. Investing in the food stat is actually quite pointless. I've never understood why people invest in that from day 1.

MORE STAMINA = MORE HEALING It's just that simple. 15k and you can heal boss tames with just 4-6 full stamina charges.

Use for food consumption, f is amount of food baby dragon has, h is hours till it hits zero. This formula works for when a player of the same tribe is active on the server. The food consumption decreases when there are no tribe mates on

Kill an alpha or any gender

Or

KO a female wyvern and milk it

Only you can prevent starvation

Got myself a nice lil level 95 lightning egg. Incubated it. Raised it a little bit. Had to leave the game, yeah sure it’ll be fine, i mean the baby won’t mature while i’m off the game right? WRONG. Came back and to my horror and found a dead corpse. Don’t make the same mistake i did.
