Need help on getting some eggs? Heres a tip!
STEP 1: Use a flyer thats speedy, has decent weight and a decent amount of stamina. Make sure you can outrun wyverns and have some range as they can easily spit breath onto your mount.
STEP 2: Find a "wyvern trench", check the ark fandom for trench locations. Ice wyverns and the 4 other variants are in seperate caves.
STEP 3: Stay as far from the wyverns as possible, don't get picky with eggs and find a clear exit for the trenches. Quickly nab the egg by getting off your mount and make a run for it!
TAMES YOU CAN USE:
-PTERNADONS: disposable, easy to tame and quicker than a wyvern. To get away from a wyvern coming to close for comfort barrel roll by clicking "c" while on shift. Weight might dip when you carry the egg
-SNOW OWLS: As fast as a pternadon , you can dive bomb from a height and pick up speed. (Just remember to remove your mini map)
-GRIFFIN: The stamina might be alittle risky, considering most griffins have 200-700 (you can level them), same with the snow owl you can dive bomb and glide with faster speed. Remember it chews up stamina, don't forget to remove the mini map aswell while doing so.
GUIDE THE WYVERNS TO OTHER LARGER CREATURES! THE WYVERN AGRESSION RANGE IS LARGER WHEN THE EGG IS TAKEN!
GROWING
Incubating time (normal): 4 hours and 50 mins (use 15 standing torches lit to incubate, spark powder is suggested to light the fires as it lasts long).
Growth time (normal): 3-4 days
^^ these differ depending on server rate settings!
MILK
Baby wyverns only eat "wyvern milk" which is obtained from knocked out female wyverns (5 wyvern milks) or dead alpha wyverns (which give 40 wyvern milks!).
-Wyvern milks give 1200 food, but spoil quickly on hand!
-Wyverns needs can be reset with a cyropod so you won't be wasting your milks.
NO MILK? HERES A HELPING HAND
All you need isβ¦
-Lots of cooked meat (you might need a industrial grill for this..) atleast 1000, daedon, lots of stimberries or stimulant and your baby wyvern.
-Put the meat in troughs and place down the daedon nearby, drop the baby wyvern nearby.
-You won't need to feed the baby as it's healed by the pig, however you need to check on it's torpor - feed it stimulant and keep it atleast less than 500. If it sleeps it's gonna end up losing health and dying!
-Don't get out of render distance, the daedon will stop healing and the baby will die.
Remember to do meat runs and check on the baby!
REMINDERS: babies are hardy, food doesn't drop quickly, atleast 10 milk will do per day.

More Wyvern Taming & KO Tips
To make milk last much longer than preserving bin, add the milk to barrel storage(bobs tall tales) seal the barrel and youre good for about 24 hours!
Works for nameless venom too
People usually try to put the milk in a fridge for to make it last longer. It doesnβt let you. But I found out that you can put it in a preserving bin.
READ THIS IF YOU WANT A WYVERN
To have your own wyvern you need to steal its egg, so there is a few things you need to have to go for a wyvern egg:
1. You need a flying dino that is fast and has decent stamina.
2. Locate the wyvernsβ cave in any map you play (Ragnarok, Valguero, Scorched Earth, etc.).
3. Go near the cave and stop to regenerate stamina.
4. Try to see hoy many adult wyverns are flying around the cave. If there are too many you donβt have many chances to successfully steal an egg
5. When you are ready, fly into the cave and take the egg (I recommend to take the first one you see, because if you stay too long inside the cave, wyverns might kill you).
6. FLY AS FAST AS YOU CAN TO GET OUT OF THE CAVE.
7. If you can get out alive, you have made the hardest part, but you have still work to do.
8. When you arrive your base, put down and light around 10 or 15 torches in a circle, and place the egg in the middle.
9. Wait for it to hatch.
10. When the egg hatches, you will have to take care of the wyvern until it grows. You have to do the things that the wyvern asks you to do. The hardest one is to give it wyvern milk. To acquire this you need to knock out an adult wyvern or kill an Alfa. BUT THERE IS A MUCH EASIER WAY. If you have cryopods, try taking your wyvern in the cryopod and then let it out. Sometimes it changes the thing that the baby is asking for.
11. Keep doing the things that your wyvern wants until it grows.
12. Congrats! You have a WYVERN!! :)
I tamed a 150 perfect argy, beefed him up to 20k health and 800% damage, straight up yoinked a level 165 wyvern egg(which i didnβt know existed, thought it went it 150), annihilated all the angry losers, hatched it, forgot I needed milk and it died, donβt be me
I got a level 150 lightning egg and I was so excited to hatch the egg...that when I went to put the egg down I accidentally ate it instead. :( ps4 users: R2 ISN'T GONNA DROP THE EGG YOU'RE GONNA EAT IT LIKE ANY OTHER EGG. REMEMBER THIS. LOGIC BEFORE EXCITMENT.
I got two eggs a fire and a lightning and to hatch I made a House and put a hole lot of fire places and they hatched and how I made the fire house I made it two stories tall and I put fire fill the hole floor I put a ladder so I could go up there make sure you have a lot of wood have fun with your wyvern
I'll give my two cents on how to raise one without wyvern milk, as it can be difficult for newer players.
ASE: If you don't have the means to kill an alpha or knock out a female for milk, use Daeodons. Make sure their inventory is filled with cooked meat. Once the baby starts losing health from starvation, use Daeodon's healing to keep it alive. I recommend making a cryopod as well, since the baby may ask for milk as an imprint, and this can help reset its need to something else. You can also cryopod it to make more cooked meat for the Daeodon if it runs out and just release it back later. This will not hurt the Wyvern or ruin the imprinting process, just freezes it. Snow Owls are also useful, though if you have a high level one for this then you're probably at a stage where you can at least safely trap a female wyvern anyways.
ASA: Bison milk. Yeah, it's very simple and much easier. Get some bison milk (have a female bison nearby a non-adult for her to passively produce it) before stealing an egg and then it can be used as a replacement for Wyvern milk. No need for Daeodons unless bison aren't on your map and/or you don't have any milk to transfer. In that case then it's back to Daeodons or Snow Owls.

The highest wyvern egg you can get is 190.get higher level eggs to hatch rather than low levels as high levels have more food and need to eat less often.
LIGHTNING WYVERNS ARE THE BEST 4 STEALING EGGS!!! They can outrun the fire and Poison Wyvern population of the trench and they are immune to lightning breath.
