Kill on site! At a low level they’re just little weird things, but at I high level they’re a extremely needed kill! They drop oil which I suggest storing for later. You’ll need it for the fabricator. This also goes for leeches which I believe, drop loads more of oil.

Grab an otter, set it to attack target and go down to the south shore towards the east. Theres usually a lot there, you just have to go into the water to find them. Took me 10-15 minutes to get 3 black pearls and I collected a load of chitin while I was doing it so it’s worth while

I saw two once, I hit one then the other one got away. But I got the 1st one (: . You can make a farm with them. If you trap one in the spot it spawns for me it worked when I logged off and on and their was then two there.:)

These guys are either herbivores or scavengers they don’t any beef with the living. They have tough outer shell witch is resistant to projectiles like arrows but is less resistant to melee weapons like axes, picks and of course swords. They cannot be tamed on mobile or switch they can only be tamed on pc or consule. They are a handy source of chitin, oil, pearls, and a small amount of meat.

The Trilobite can be killed for chitin,oil, and silica pearls so if you need chitin or oil and silica pearls, Triliobite is the way to go

These little guys are just there, chilling. Unless you need chitin or silica pearls. For me, on the Steam version, I have a base on a peninsula near Weathertop. There is a shallow river by my base. Sometimes I will see these things in that river. Sometimes I will see them at Herbivore Island. If you have SCUBA gear or some kind of fast and reliable aquatic mount, you can find them in the deep ocean.
