The ultimate herbivore island guide
First to get to herbivore island get a raft. There are megalodons around the island and maybe a basilo.
After you get to the island make spike walls around your base to keep phiomias and parasaurs away. Make your house in the walls. A nice house design for now is the “second little phiomia” house and upgrading it to stone later is good.
After you have a wood house start taming. A first tame can be phiomia, parasaur, or anky. To tame an anky walk backwards while shooting a slingshot. Then feed any of the pets mejoberries.
On herb island there is 7 creatures that live there. They are parasaur, phiomia, trike, ankylo, stego, bronto, and titanosaur very rarely. I have only seen a titanosaur once.
Once on the island keep leveling until you get pteranodon saddle. Once you have the engram build it and bola a pteranodon, slingshot or tranq arrow it then feed it dodo egg kibble.
A good idea for leveling is taking the pteranodon out and then getting explorer notes.
Another good idea is to make a mejoberry farm and then replace it or add a crop farm, I used carrots.
Keep progressing through the game and move to the mainland whenever you want. Remember, herbivore island is good for starting but in mid-late game it gets less useful. There are only 7 creatures on herbivore island so it gets boring after a while. Ps If you need keratin hunt ankylos.
More Triceratops Utility Tips
Utility Roles for Trike:
1. Tank. When faced with head on damage, they have a damage reduction. Be sure to pair with mate for extra damage resistance (level Health).
2. Short Range Scout. The Trike is not very fast, but again, due to the damage resistance it has (and it's just general beefiness), it can serve as a good scout for early game. Much better than the Para in that regard (level Health, Stam, and Movement Speed).
3. Harvester. This boi can collect quite a decent amount of wood and fiber, much more than you can by hand. Use with Charge attack for extra resources! (level Weight and Stamina).
4. Defender. Use him to defend your base and smaller tames. Really the only early game threat a Trike can't handle are alphas and the occasional Theri. But trust me, I've seen one of these things face down a Sarco and live (level Health and Melee Damage)
My name is ShinyChimchar01 and if you like these tips, please up (next tip will be on Raptor)
I can not stress enough to my friends how useful the trike is. Early game it makes a great pack animal. Late game in groups of three or four it can be used as a decent battle mount. Taming a trike early on can be a great way to start a large base and keep you well fed with berries.
A triceratops is a very special dinosaur in this game. It is easy enough to tame at a low level, yet powerful enough to take on raptors that could kill you easily. It can collect enough berries that you would never go hungry again, and still have some berries leftover to help tame more trikes. They are very slow but it can make up for it if you increase the weight, attack, and stamina stats. It is an extremely good pack animal because it can carry a lot, but still defend itself, especially if it is in a large group. Overall, the triceratops is one of my favorite and most versatile dinosaurs.
