Taming & KO Tips
How do I tame a thylacoleo? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a thylacoleo.
Can be picked up by wyverns easily on SE near the mountains by Green obi. Be careful because they tend to climb the sheer cliff walls and pounce on unsuspecting metal farmers.
The Snow owl is amazing at taming these, because the thermal Vision makes them a bright orange tiger on a grey tree
Breeding: Babies can and will climb trees. Dont lose them! Plan safe pregnancies! XD
Whoa whoa why does this guy prefer cooked meat rather that raw ???
Get yourself a tank lady's and gents. By tank I mean a high level stego. Can't get knocked off, high health, half damage from all things. Perfect for getting through the red woods
If your on Ragnarok, I suggest taming them in the desert, in my opinion its alot less dangerous b/c the thylas are on the ground. Make sure to go on a flying mount and watch out for rock golems and other bugs. The thylas are near the bottom of the desert.
If you are playing on Ragnarok, they are easier to tame in the desert biome, very common around lat 86, lon 63.
If you see one on a tree, shoot it so it will come down and pick it up with an Argentavis to bring it into a taming pen
So. Taming a thylacoleo isnt really easy. Today was the first time i have tamed a thylacoleo and i must say, trying to find it is a pain. I used my quetzal and a parasaur called "bait" on turret mode to find him. If you cant use a parasaur try just going around the waters near redwoods and try to spot 1. Note: Better use a quetzal if you have one, dino's cant dmg you while holding them with quetzal. Find a thyla, shoot it with a single arrow and when ut falls go and grab it. Carry it into a cage or tranq it till it falls unconcious. You will need around 40-60 cooked meat depending on lvl (i am on 0.2 difficulty). Around 20-40 tranq arrows and at least 200 narcotics. When it falls asleep put in the food od choice and narcotics and wait for it to wake up. It takes about nearly an hour to tame. I hope this helps. It's torpor falls down really quickly so watch out for that. If you need help ask. My name is WakeyJakey

We just tamed 2 lvl 110 thylacoleo and trust me it requires a lot of narcs
Go to Ragnorak in the desert with trees and metal and you'll.fijd them strolling the grounds. I hate the redwoods thylas
If you can't find these guys easily, I recommend using a Snow Owl. Flying high in the redwood, and with the Owl vision you can spot every creature in there from far away. If you don't have the Extinction DLC to tame Owls, just buy one from a player of your server, or use a command to spawn them.
A good way I found to find these is to go to the redwoods riding a parasaur and walk into the forest spamming the parasaur’s ability. It will alert you to a thylacoleo in a tree if there is one, just make sure to look up at the trees near you if it finds enemies. Also would recommend bring a dino or two to protect you and your parasaur. Just signal them to passive when you find your thylacoleo. Hope this helps.
As an Xbox player it took me 50 cooked meat and 30 narc to tame . I hate that everyone on here says it takes thousands . I WAS ON ARKPOC . - Holland
When I did my own tests on day one of the patch in single player, 4 kibble was 25% for 150
I wouldn't bring anything short of 16 kibble.
just use a large bear trap and shoot it down with narco. Watch out i needed for a lvl 7, 25 narcotics so its wrong here with 0.
OK boys and girls, you see this creature right here^ yep that b*****d is the devils own spawn.. catching it on the island is pure hell. (Much easier to catch on genesis 2 with bear traps) but I digress.
I would suggest having a fast flying mount like a pteranadon for this.. fly above the redwood trees area towards the mountains to build your pit trap. (Make it bigger if you want to make it multipurpose.)
4× stone foundations, stone Dino gate, 12× stone walls (make one a stone door wall for quick in out escaping), and 4× stone ramps.
From just outside of the redwoods you can spot them in trees.. DO NOT FLY OR RIDE PAST THEM, UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE A BAD DAY. When you see one from OUTSIDE the redwoods that you want just shoot it once to aggro it over to you.. (when it's on the ground it shouldn't be able to rip you off your mount). Fly over to aggro it into your trap. Voila, tranq it in safety ;)
Don't know if this tip has already been added, but when they jump off of trees, they can't get back on the trees until you leave render distance. So if you see one on the ground, try to tame that one!
You can find them easily with a snow owl hunt mode or an argentavis with a para
Prefer cooked meat, don’t use raw meat, better cook it
