Don’t even try to tame this until you have all the right equipment... you probably wont make it out alive

In the redwoods, be sure to fly above the lowest limbs or they will surely jump of the tree and kill you . There's nothing you can do about it. But if you are careful and use a spy glass you can see them on the side of the tree. Then if your using a argi. Just fly above him and pluck him right from the tree. Then take him and drop him in a taming pin. One last thing , don't let him run out of food or you will have to start all over. Happy hunting!

For Fjordur (found in redwood forest, Vannaland NE):

These guys like to wait below you if you latch onto something with bat. I like to kill all other predators and then latch onto giant tree/mountainside (hit A/X when you see blue crosshair xbox/PSP to latch), then just shoot from bat. If you have extraordinary kibble ready this goes really fast.

If you hit "honey rock" with anklylo you will get a lot of giant bee honey, saves a day with a fridge and/or preserving salt. Combine this with deino eggs found littered in nests all over grasslands you will have the hard ingredients for kibble very easily.

Bats are tamed very easily with a ton of blood packs and a bunch of parachutes. Anklyos can be tamed easily since they can be outrun.

The easier method is with an argie. you need to build a jail for him out of redwood, because it is very dangerous to build there. An 1×1 jail is good, but hard to put him in it, so a 2×2 is better. Thylas can't break stone, and use doorframes, it's cheaper. Then, fly on redwood with an argie (BE CAREFUL, THEY CAN GRAB YOU BY JUMPING FROM TREES, AND IT DEALS A LOOOOOT OF DAMAGES, SO FLY ABOVE THEM) when you find the one you want, make him fall by attacking him. When he's down, you can grab him with argie, and place him in the trap. Knock him down and give him cooked meat. Yes, cooked meat. You have now the coolest creature in ark.

makes some bear traps then find one and shoot one down with a dart then they will come for you but before that put the bear traps down then when it goes on it build some stone strutures around them

To climb a tree with your cleo walk up to tree while on its back and hold x (for ps4) and they will climb the tree

These guys are all over the southern coast on Ragnarok, where the desert meets the sea. This is great as they don't have the redwood trees to hide in and they just kind of stroll about.

There's a large flat topped mountain that looks a bit like Tabletop Mountain. I build a taming pen on top of this mountain, then pick up a thylacoleo with an Argy or Wyvern. and drop it in the trap. Their torpor drains quickly, so pack loads of narcotics! They're fussy eaters too and prefer cooked meat, preferably cooked prime meat. Also as the trap is high up it's out of range of other predators and you easily select which thylo to tame with a spyglass. Piece of cake!

Ima tell you, these things arent great to tame, but amazing creatures when tamed. You should build a 2x2 doorway trap, with ramps on one side. Shoot the thyla from far away while off your mount, hop back on, and if you're using an argy, pick the thyla, the dop it on. If on something else, just bait it. Used cooked meat to tame, and dont go near the trap unless it's torpor running. Enjoy your new climbing marsupial. (Tip is for the island)

Find them in desert or genesis 2 easier to tame there than redwoods. You can net gun them. They prefer cooked over raw meat.

These things are a must have and relatively easy to tame. Basically all you have to do is get a tapejara and have someone sitting on the back seat with a bunch of tranqs. It’s easiest to have a nice open space. Then just shoot it and slowly fly away from it until it’s knocked out. Then just feed it a couple of narcotics and prime meat and bam! The best tame you could ever ask for!

Just let your quetz tank them or pull them into a trap, easy tame.

They can no longer damage wood so wooden pens will hold them or protect you

GEN 2 - bottom of the map there are loads! Just kill the bad ones to help spawn better ones

You should bring alot of narcotics because they wake up pretty quickly and they can be quite annoying

In Genesis 2, you can find them most commonly around the mountains over on the “day side”, the R variant pattern is very unique compared to the traditional thylacoleo pattern and makes them easy to spot, best way to knock them out is shocking tranq darts, this has always been my favorite tame since ragnarok

Go to the southwest island that looks like a paw print on Ragnarok. Build a taming pen, I used a 4 by 4, 2 walls high and lead into trap. Knock out thyla and starve tame, let it's food go down by about 400. Bring lots of narcotics/ bio toxin. Feed cooked lamb chop ( ovis is everywhere on rag) or ext kibble if you have it. Bam , you have a thyla

Use cooked meat instead of raw prime meat because it takes quicker to tame but still has the same taming percentage
