I just started a nice world (PLAYED FOR A COUPLE WEEKS 2 AT MOST) with my cousin. We went scouting for a house spot, and we found a beautiful island. Can you guess where it was located? THE REDWOODS. So we decided to stay here. (we are level 46 and level 50, not very far) I was flying my pt named carrot, when suddenly I notice my stamina is running low. I landed in a good spot, but my cousin's distance border thing pulled me back into the redwoods. I thought I was safe, but of course these little kitties spotted me from a mile away, severed my pt, holding me down to watch it suffer and die, then finish me off. luckily my cousin knows a trick where you leave the game without saving when a pet dies or something, and it takes you back to your last save, before the animal died. We do this trick a lot, but we just get lucky it didn't save as or after the pet died.

DO NOT GO INTO THE REDWOODS TO CHARGE STAMINA, these things will chase you to the ENDS OF THE WORLD if you do.

Theese things are actually marsupials.

Its my favorite creature in ark bec it has great heath, stam, melee and weight it can climb mountains and its fast so its a great mount

If you're ever strolling through redwoods, make sure you're dinosaur is on aggressive so they can attack the Thyla. And if your emotionally attached to your shoulder mount like I was, make sure it's on passive flee to it can run away.

Breeding: Babies can and will climb trees. Dont lose them! Plan safe pregnancies! XD

The Thyla is a powerful mount that can run up cliffs and trees and leap down on once you have tamed one they will be one of your best dinos and your forever friend

make sure to take lots of narcotics!!!! i had to make mortar and pestles and pick berries on the spot so my lvl 145 didn’t wake up.. not fun. barely cut it and got it tamed at 30 torpor

Awesome for a Attacker, They do bleed now! It’s definitely worth the try to tame one.

So after hearing about things in the redwoods that take you off your mount I went flying about for literally days with no issue what so ever, I’m thinking what’s the big deal? I start hunting for some prime meat and hide to take back to base in time for imprinting and suddenly out of nowhere I’m flying backwards off my argent and am chomped by this guy, lvl 10, I fight back and get released, I am lvl 98, tho I’m quickly killed before I can draw my mastercraft crossbow. My only imprinted bird and my xbow are now with my corpse near the edge of the redwood. My lvl 220 spino munched the tree hugger and I got my bird back after a second trip back to search. Moral of the story, these guys are legit savage and need be tamed ASAP

they are too op I killed 2 lvl 35-100 bronto and my thyla was ok did not even get bloody I named him jumpy but while I was afk on multi-player this mother****ker killed him. 1 like 1 rip to jumpy

One of the best mounts in the game. Can Run, Jump, Climb, and with a little lag it can even fly. In all seriousness, this is my favorite mount and always one of my first tamed. It’s an amazing combat mount that can easily run from anything it can’t kill.

If you ever go to the redwood Forest, watch out for these things they fly

One of the best dinos in the game! They are really hard to tame but once you get one of these that’s a high level you will be able to do anything!
