These guys are SO GOOD on Scorched. Make sure to tame one ASAP for a good wood harvester on a map where there aren't many good wood harvesters.

I obtained one on Ragnarok Ascended by butchering the others at its family gathering and kidnapping it

They have weight reduction on stone and wood, wood they collect good.

(Ryhma) and they look so cute. They are battle tames for small animals like dilos and raptors and they can shoot spikes that knock out small animals like dodos and dilos

I always liked these guys as knock out tames. While they don’t deal as much torpor as narcotics they also don’t need any narcotics to produce spines.

Don't touch it! It has a similar aggro range as gigantopithecus so just stay away and it won't hurt you

I tamed my first thorny by simply being on a rock ledge above it, paying close attention if any tail spikes were thrown and dodging easlie. The ledge took most of the hits and I used trank arrows to take it down. I didn't know what it ait so threw in everything. Meat, they like meat. So that's how I got my boy, Chibi.

Can be used to help tame large creatures. If you pull out your crossbow or longneck while riding it you can shoot your weapon and its tail needles at the same time allowing you to tank the creature and save tranqs. You would need to level health and melee though.

If you store things on this tame with a spoil timer it keeps it longer like a fridge or preservation bin

Solo, regular settings

1)Have a full stack of boomerangs.

2)Get to high ground.

3)Hit until it runs away, while it's running away run behind and finish it off. Stand guard as you let it eat meat. Got one on day 2 on normal settings.

Normally a stack of wood weighs 50 pounds but on the dragon of thorny proportions, it only weighs 10!!! Long live the Thorny Dragon!

Be careful of the thorny dragons torpor it I 10-20 torpor for a single spike and it throws 3 at you.

Use any type of shield to block its poison thorns and shoot tranq arrow or darts when it is walking towards you. Boomerangs aren't gonna be as useful as tranq arrows.

Below is the formula for collecting a lot of wood.

Chainsaw + (Thorny Dragon + Dino Escort) x 2Harvesting = All The Wood

A good thing to do for a lot of creatures is build a cage out of door frames and ramps once the creature is in just shoot it with tranq arrows or darts but the creature has to be big enough to not walk through the door frame

If you have a flyer carry one to a taming pen, it's gonna aggro and start throwing spines at everything it sees the minute it lands. Plan accordingly, and use solid walls so it can't shoot through them.

I first I thought these were cute and nice but hell no they started shooting spines at me

Did you know that thorny dragons when they hit other dinosaurs 🦖 with their thorns on their tails, it actually knocks out the dinosaurs 🦕 not kill them, it mite kill the but most likely not and it takes from like 540 to at least 600!!

Go on a cliff and boomerang from above if low level.
