HOW TO TAME THERI (from experience)

This is the ultimate gatherer you will probably ever have, though not for the faint of heart. I used a rock method, and began chasing it when it ran only to be killed shortly after. Don't fall for this fakeout! Guarantee your knockout with this simple method:

PREPARATIONS

- 4 stone gateways & doors

- Tranq/biotoxin arrows, bow or crossbow!

- Decent mount for getaway

- Mejoberries or preferred kibble

- Narcotics

THE TRAP

Place your gateways in a square shape, but DON'T snap them together! Have some gaps between so you can run in/out while also being able to shoot through. Test it a few times and see if you have enough wiggle-room!

Find your Theri and lead them to the trap. Be sure to have one door open! Once it's inside, slither out through your gaps and close it shut.

Theris can't attack your trap super easily, but might damage the doors. It won't be too much damage, but do not leave your Theri unattended.

THE KNOCKOUT

Unleash all your wrath on the amount of times you lost everything to this tickle chicken, and shoot the living crap out of it with arrows.

Once knocked out, shove at least a full stack of berries, or some of its kibble, and narcotics- LOTS of them!

(I'm not talking about 40-50, you'll need a bit more if you don't like topor around half)

—TIP TIME—

PASSIVE, AGGRESSIVE, OR NEUTRAL?

Theris are aggressive, only if you approach within touching distance or hit them first. The Explorer notes are slightly misleading, saying that they are full aggro. Basically just don’t bother them and they chill.

TAMING

The easiest way to tame a Theri is through a trap (search one on YouTube or just use one with metal billboards) BUT be wary as those long claws can slice through thatch and wood! KEEP IN MIND that they are herbivores (idk how because they go on rampages) so make sure you have berries on hand or it’s favourite exceptional Kibble at hand. AND make sure to bring a plethora or narcotics/biotoxin as torpor SUCKS.

USES

Theris are the ultimate gatherers, having 3 different attacks, each gathering different things. The primary attack, which utilises the claws, is good for damaging enemies and clearing areas while also getting wood. It mainly harvests meat from corpses. The secondary attack, which is a bite, is extremely useful for gaining hide from corpses and berries from bushes. The tertiary attack, or, as I like to call it, the tickle attack, literally is the Theri just tickling. This does DOT (damage over time) during the animation, landing a few hits, and is extremely useful for fiber and thatch.

Looking to tame a Tickle Chicken! Welcome! Before we start, let's get packing!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

-Knockout ammo (Tranq Arrows/ Darts or Shocking Tranq Darts)

-Knockout weapon(Bows, Crossbows, or Longnecks)

-Taming food(Mejoberries, Crops or its prefered Kibble)

-Lots of Biotoxin/ Narcotics

Now that you're all ready, let's get to taming!

Here are methods that you can use:

METHOD 1: Trapping

This is the most classic of all methods. Here is what you will need:

-Stone Foundations (4-9x), Stone Doorframes (Depends on how much foundations you're using) and Wooden Ramps(Depends on how much foundations you're using)

Now that the trap is built, lure the theri into the trap! (Make sure to use a flyer like a RG or PT, as theris are quite fast) After this, shoot down the theri and feed it your taming food. Make sure to be careful as their torpor drains rather quick so regularly feed it the biotoxin/narcotics you have packed. After a load of time and patience, name your newly tamed Theri and enjoy your Vegan Rex(or Tickle Chicken if you prefer)!

METHOD 2: The Cheap Method

This method is extremely cheap. Get onto a high rock or cliff where the Theri can't reach you and start shooting it down. When it starts running, chase it down. It may be a little annoying but you will eventually knock it out! After it's knocked out, just like the first method, make sure to feed it your biotoxin or narcotics from time to time(Also watch out for Raptors, they are a thing)! Wait a while and voila! Enjoy your new Vegan Rex/ Tickle Chicken and congratulate yourself!

Now, here are the utilities of the Theri:

The Theris have three attacks for gathering different items (They are also sometimes called the King Gatherer)

-The Bite Attack

-The Delicate Attack

-The Claw Attack

NOTE: There are different names for it online, but these are what I call them.

These attacks deal great damage and also gather a wide variety of items. A unique thing about the Theri's attacks is that they can damage both the mount and rider if you're on a PVP server (Tadaaa!!!)! They are also fast and are great mounts, with good health, attack and speed. The saddle is unlocked at level 69 (;) ) and is not too expensive!

1: get like 70 narcotic if want do right (I learned the hard way :( )

2:get narco berries it can be used constantly

3:get in a stone tower and the boi with 50 tranq arrows until it runs

4:when it runs go after it and knock with tranq arrows

5:put in 100 memo berries and sleep stuff from earlier

6:wait…

Knocking it out is the easy part. Keeping it down? Better have a few hundred narcs

Ok so these might seem a monster to you, but these are actually the ultimate gatherers in the mid game, to tame this follow these steps:

1. Use the 4 stone gateway/2 door trap( make sure that you don't take more than 1 hit since 2 hits will murder you).

2. If you don't have much weapons, then use 2 primitive crossbows to knock it.( trust me 2 prim crossbows with 180+ tranqs is enough for a 270 theri )

3. I suggest using a balm or bring at least 150 bio toxin.

4. 3x balm with berries and toxin is enough.

5. Enjoy your theri.

If this dino spawns near your base and you are low and mobile player then just do one thing. Put your all stuff in your base and go near the dino then run in opposite side of your base and lead him to far away from your home before he destroy all you have even your pets. just don't uninstall the game bcoz of this😂

Dear survivor

Do you want to have your very own therizinosaurus? I have just the guide! Follow this and you should have one pretty soon. I did not include traps because they are too expensive for a small Dino like this and can be spent on bigger Dino’s.

LOCATE

1: find a tickle chicken

PREPARE

2: get more than enough tranq arrows (or your preferred on hand knock out method if it’s long ranged)

3: have a weapon that is long range (crossbow or longneck preferably)

4: pack lots of narcotics (you will need them), I learnt the hard way and had to frantically run around and get every bush in the vicinity for narcoberries

5: have an escape/tanky dino to travel on (iguanadons are quite fast and pteranodons can fly so they are both good)

HUNTING

6: pack your stuff and track down the chicken

7: once your tickle chicken is found again (trust me it’s a lot easier to come across one randomly then find it later) scan the area for other threats

8: find a nearby cliff/vantage point where the chicken will have a hard time tickling you

KNOCKOUT

9: hope your a good shot and hit the oversized turkey, the goose will run at you

10: if you picked a good spot the bird won’t get you and you can shoot it until it starts running, if you didn’t then hop on your preferred method of locomotion and get out of there. If you can find another vantage point then go to it. Either way this part can be difficult

11: if you shoot the chicken enough times it will run away, when this happens chase after it on your biological vehicle or just run after it. Try not to run into some bigger Dino’s or off a cliff

12: you shoot it and knock out the chicken of tickles

TAMING

13: feed the beast some majoberries (idk how to spell the name) or some kibble

14: watch its torpor, it drains really quickly. Force feed it narcoberries or preferably narcotics

15: rinse and repeat

USING YOUR GIGANTIC GOOSE

16: once your tickling terry wakes up, craft a saddle at a smithy (if you can, I’m actually making a saddle whilst writing this)

17: have fun with your therizinosaurus!! Make sure to level it up to make it stronger, faster and tougher. Also upgrade it’s harvesting abilities.
