Before you attempt to tame it I suggest you trap it first

These guys are TANKS. They’re stronger than a Rex, but slow on land. I recommend though. Use them for getting around in water areas to fight off creatures like a sabertooth salmon on megapirhana. 10/10! Tame one!

Alright guys. Thank you so much for persuading to tame one of these bad boys. I haven’t yet but here is my game plan (im the person that said the spino is my fav Dino and I needed 10 👍🏻 By Christmas to be confident enough to tame one) thank you so much for 26 Ups!!!

Ok here it is,

There is a swampy river by my base. I go there a lot for fish and to get chitin. It has, as far as I know, NO sarcos andNO ku- ke- ki-? Whatever the other death croc is. But it dose have a spino spawn. I will get all the stone I can get and then put it in my paras inventory. Then I will ride him to the swampy river. Once I locate a spino I will hop of my para and unload him. Then I will craft a trap that someone suggested. 3x3 stone platform, a wall then a doorframe then a wall on three sides. Just wall on 4th. wood ramp going in on fourth wall. I will lead spino in trap then hit with tranqu arrows. I have ALOT of bio toxin so I won’t need to worry about narcotics. Thank you again so much. so cooked fish meat takes less time to tame a spino? also prefer scraping from scrape meat fish to tame

If you have a pteranadon, 4 stone Gates and a large bear trap with around 20-35 tranqs in a crossbow you can take it down. Imagine a square of Gates, except there's one missing and a L bear trap in the middle. You lure It from the side with the gate missing. when it gets stuck, cover up the last gate and you can fire away. You can use whatever you want for taming. You can also do this with the rex.

It is actually Really easy to tame These.

You Need:

1 Longneck Rifle

10 Tranquelizer Bullets

15 Normal Bullets

To be Good Leveled in running Speed

100 Narcoberries

First you Need To Help him fight Every other Creatires in His near (there are Always some) when Hes done fighting with them and has eaten their corpse, He will Chase you, Just give him easy headshots with the Tranquelizer Bullets, (that is easy cause He constantly Looks at you). Then knock him Out. After knocking him Out you Need weapons or Dinos to clear the area of ANY Predators, (thats what the Bullets are for).

After knocking Out, give him Prime meat and fill him constantly with Narco (Berries Work too).

And congratulations! You've Made yourself a "Mister Spy"

When taming make sure u get a lot of prime bc that will help much more. Spinos are honestly the best tame ever so u want to tame one.

How to tame a Spino!

2 METHODS

Method 1 - Trapping (Easiest, Most Expensive)

Materials: 9x stone foundations, 24x stone double doorframe, 6x stone ramps.

Place the foundations in a 3x3 square, then 2 layers vertically of double doorframes along the edges. Then make a place the ramps along one wall.

Use a flyer (Pteranodon or Argentavis) and get the Spino to aggro on you. Then lead it up the ramp and into the trap. Then land and start shooting it with your tranq ammo of choice.

Method 2 - Pillar (Harder, Less Expensive)

Materials: 10x-15x stone pillars, 10x-15x ladders.

Place the pillars on top of each other, then ladders going up the pillars.

Get the Spino’s aggro and then go up the pillar on the ladder. When you get to the top, turn around and start shooting it with your tranq ammo of choice.

Where it gets difficult is when it starts torpor running . You must go down the ladder and follow it while shooting it, but it is faster than you, so this is easier said than done.

USES

They have good stamina, melee, and okay health, and they also can breathe underwater.

They get an infinite buff when in the water and lasts for 30 seconds after you leave the water.

They have 2 types of stances, the 2-legged stance and the 4-legged stance. When on 4 legs they will run faster but less attack ddamage. When on 2 legs they run slower but have more attack damage.

I got mine by going up on a cliff and it's really easy. so today I decided go to tame a spino with my argy, when I saw one I shot him a tranq dart then immediately hopped on my argy and flew up, after many shots it finally started running and I immediately started chasing him and after a while I finally got him down. then I started making a bed so I could save some time, I gave him the fish meat and a soothing balm, then I went to sleep and after coming out I saw this beast standing right next to my argy, at first I thought he just woke up but no... I actually tamed him

It can’t destroy stone so just make a stone foundation and build the stone walls about 10 high. Be sure to bring ladders and ceilings to make a little snipers nest. Also bring some narcotics because torpor drains fast. I used cooked prime meat to tame mine but just any meat will suit. Pretty easy tame this way for a big scary dino

Just build a tower out of 8 or so stone pillars and some wood roofs used it to tame lvl 95 (watch out for therizinos and dimorphs while taming)

It's easy to tame I had 2 of them in the last game but I tamed them with a trap because I was a beginner,only u need is at least 8 dino gates straight on a track,and then put the door in the last dino gates,so find this bad boy and run from him,so he'll follow you to kill,simply run to the trap and then close the dino gate,he'll busy in breaking dino gates to kill you but at that moment you'll use tranq arrows,that's how I tamed them.

Im a mobile player and i REALLY WANT ONE OF THESE so i keep caving for soothing balms but i cant get them! any tips for taming a spinosaurus? I dont have kibble also so should i use prime fish meat? If i get a soothing balm i might wait for it to starve then get bio toxin and prime fish

I tamed a lvl 22 spino without any traps or flying creatures i climbed a high rock that was attached to a mountan so if he hits me i wont get launched from the rock i started shooting him whit crossbow and tanqr arrows and he fell down BRING AT LEAST 100 NARCOTICS OR 80/100 BIO TOXIN AND DON'T USE REGULAR MEAT LIKE I DID USE PRIME MEAT OR FISH MEAT

One of the easiest tames out there!! All you need is to have a high ground and about 10-20 narco arrows. Make sure once it starts running away that it will bump into rocks. Tamed a lvl 5 and only needed a 3x soothing balm with 50 narcotics and fish ✨️ only thing that sucks is now i gotta get to the lvl where i get a spino saddle

How to tame:

Step 1: Build a trap near but not too close to your desired spino.

Step 2: Lead it into the trap. (Don't underestimate their speed!)

Step 3: Shoot it with tranq arrows/darts until it goes unconscious.

Step 4: Put your taming food into it's inventory, and wait.

Step 5: Enjoy your new spino! (These guys are really good :D)

I had four spinos but one died saving my life from a meg (he was low like 100 hp) but and the one I just tamed I tamed with one piece of prime and 10x balm

This is a must have on solo play. My level 76 can take out an Alpha carno lv 1 and an Alpha Raptor level 6 back to back with no problem. When fighting with them don't forget to be near water as they gain increased movement and damage being in (Spino foot) foot deep water.

If you want to catch one properly you can setup 1-3 large bear traps in a row a good distance away from the Spino, then aggro it into one of the traps and tranq it. Don't forget, large bear traps take a few seconds before they become activated.

Bring a shield in case it gets to you before it gets to the traps, they're fast.
