Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a spinosaurus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a spinosaurus.
Hello I am the person who tamed Hemlock and posted the following tip:
Spino is my absolute FAV Dino. I haven’t seen one in ark cus I kinda like to keep to my own little area. There is a spino spawn thing a little farther than I have gone. Should I?
10 likes or up by Christmas = yes
At the time of writing this that tip has 184 likes. Not only was I convinced to tame Hemlock, my beautiful buddy, it gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone.
After I tamed Hemlock (who I named after the poisonous water hemlock) I noticed he was getting lonely. So, as any good master would do I decided to find a mate for him so he can stop feeling lonely. I hopped on my ichy, Mint Chocolate, and went for a swim to check out spino spawns by the coast. Wile I did find many promising spinos, none of them where female. At last I checked the last spino spawn I could get too by ichy. Nothing. Hemlock grew even sadder when I returned empty handed. It turned out Charlie, my baby raptor, over heard me talking to Mint about finding Hemlock a friend, then told Hemlock. I was heart broken watching Hemlock pout by the river all day. I checked a map that could show me the locations best to find spinos when I saw something awesome! There was a spino spawn just up the river by my base! I also remember seeing a spino there awhile back. Of course it chased me off before I could really take a good look at it. Immediately, I jumped onto my iguanodon, Nerra. Then road off to the river. As I arrived at the river I took out my spy glass to get a better look, and there she was! A beautiful pink and tan female spino! I noticed then that she was injured. Either way I would of helped her but, this was perfect because it meant less chance of her hurting me and Nerra. It was easy to calm her down with my traqu arrows and cross bow, and with a few narcotics and a lot of fish meat, she became happy with me. Ever since I brought her home Hemlock has been happier then ever. I named her Lilly, and she loves Hemlock and all of our tames.

PLS UP THIS ME AND MY PTERONONODON GOT KILLED BECAUSE I DIDN’T KNOW THIS:
They can break out of large bear traps in seconds. Beware of planning a trap and tame.
He protec
He attac
He eat ur biotox stack
The best way is to be on something higher than it’s standing up head. Also I recommend that you use the grappler attachment on your crossbow to cling to a high tree(you might die if unprepared)
Lots of tranq arrows and around 100 narco berries
Hope this works(don’t forget to bring a paracute
Ok i will give tips for taming spine boi( hes my personal fav dino)
1. If you want a trap, craft 14 stone pillars and place them like this
-
- -
-
With the front ones 4 pillars tall the middle one 3 pillars tall and the back one 1 pillar tall. Or you can just find a cliff and shoot it there.
2. Tranq the spino(i reccomend you do hunt dilo quest it gives an ascendant or mastercraft bow)and bring at least 70 tranqs if you're using crossbow(by the way thats the amount for a 150)
3. Feed it prime fish meat and your narcotic of choice to keep it asleep.
4. Saddle it and there you go, a killing machine more versatile than the rex.
Extra facts:
Spinos can swim faster than megs.
Spinos get a hydration buff after touching a body of water(+25% movement speed, +10% damage and +10% stam)
Spinos have a bipedal mode where it gains 1.5x damage but reduces movement speed.
Lookin to tame a land and water behemoth! Ok but first you need this stuff
Tranq arrows tranq darts what’re you prefer
If you want to tame a high level use a trap to make sure it does not run
Give it prime fish you can get it from using a sickle on a sabertooth salmon
Feed it naracotics every now and then
And you now own the behemoth of the beaches
*extra tip* if you want to level it up quick go to rivers and slap a bunch of fish till you level up a lot
(Ark Mobile) So you’ll need to bring plenty of narcotics (100 should be good but I bring more) about a stack of tranq arrows or darts, a good flying mount (health, speed, and stamina wise), and plenty of the food to tame it with. First what you’ll want to do is find it and lure it away from any body of water, becuse if you knock it out in water it will drown (it did for me twice). Then you’ll want to keep shooting it until it runs away this is where the mount speed and stamina is helpful. Chase it and if you can try to keep it away from water. When it’s knocked feed it the food and plenty of narcotics. And boom enjoy your new super powerful Dino! Hope this helps :)
These guys are ridiculously fast if taming them is really hard unless you have a pteranodon
Despite being big and burly, didn’t take much tranq darts to knock out one (especially an X-Spino)
Always have a bronto with yourself or any other high hp dinosaur this will take spinos attention from you to your dino and start shooting with crossbow tranq arrows
I found a easy method to taming these guys (and anything else) I used a stego with lots of health aggrod a spino and shot tranqs off the stegos back as the stego tanked the spinos hits.
Aliños are not immune to jelly fish as I found out the hard way losing my high lvl to a lvl 28 meh 4 jelly fish and a titan when tryna kill the titan for lvls
Got my first Spino today. Thing has been tormenting me on the Center forever, so I decided to build a trap. After countless deaths and lost Dino’s, the trap finally did it. She is mine, and her name is Cruella. Up for converting those who eat us to those who love us and the 101 dinos I lost in battle
The first day of ark I played I thought it was friendly bad decision…I walked up and it chased me…I ran into another one I lost everything
How to tame a spino if you are bad at the game like me.😁 You will need a cross bow, fifty tranq arrows and a large amount of narcotics and biotoxin, and most importantly a flyer. -First locate the spino, I found mine on the west Coast near the water falls, then use your flyer to lure him out and get him to fall off a cliff. Once he can't get you start shooting him with a lot of tranq darts bring around 50 to be safe (you may need more or less depending on difficulty and level). Once he's down feed him fish meat and narcotics and protect him. THINGS WILL AGRO ON HIM. And then boom you just got yourself a spino AKA one of the best dinos in the game. Next name him Nokia and remember he gets a crazy stat boost in water.

Bro if it's low get crossbow tranq lead it to the forest stay distance away from it😀
To tame a spino you need about 4-5 tranq darts, you can tame a lvl 10 spino with 2 darts and an raptor, use the raptor to rush the spino and tranq it once, it will agro, so run away, then go back and dart it again and it is knocked. To find they are most active at beaches or any place with water, you can find 1 in a beach, 10 in those water fall type of valleys.
When you tame a spino, ALWAYS BRING BIO TOXIN. You need a bunch of it, because here on do do dex, and in the game, spino torpor drops high. What I mean is, the spinos torpor goes down fast. So I recommend if spino torpor gets to the middle, feed it bio toxin until its almost full of torpor. When I tamed my spino, it was a close call. A very close call. 1. I ran out of tranq arrows.
2. No more Cnidarias were in the area, (OR SO I THOUGHT), so I thought hope was lost, when suddenly, boom, a group of cnidarias were in the water. I killed them all for bio toxin. At that time, when I got there, the Spino was only at 280.1 Torpordity, so I quickly started feeding it bio toxin. I tamed it with raw meat ONLY. Fish meat was scarce where the spino was, and Bio Toxin, was a need. Also, take a direwolf with you along with a flying mount. Put them on stop, and make sure the direwolf is far away. 1. Direwolves give a boost on the drops of the creature they kill. (On Back Only). So they can gather lots of meat, more than your metal tools.
3. Direwolves are a good source of protection, and very floofy.
If you are planning on taming another spino, please take lots more tranq arrows. Sorry if I have bad grammar. I posted this on my Phone. I play on mobile, so some of this stuff may not work. Check Do do dex for more info. It really helped me!
I tamed my first ever Spino. She/He, can kill other Spinos. Now when I have it out, I am not afraid of anything. It can even kill a Rex. I wanted to go easy mode, so I picked Casual, and Easy. My Spino is now lvl 40 something. Thats a lot. With great power comes great responsibility. Get yourself a Spino. If you plan on taming a high lvl, I recommend taking loads of raw meat,
And a bunch of Bio Toxin. I had a few close calls when trying to tame my Spino. I named it Rexy. Spinos have underwater buff, they are stronger when attacking with their front claws. Bites are slower and weaker. Spino also knocks back. Be careful! Spinos are strong. Get to a high cliff, then shoot it up with tranq arrows if you are a low lvl. Feed it with raw meat if its the only source. Feed it bio toxin if torpor is almost gone. -TinaZ, with Rexy.
Be careful there fast dangerous and can kill you
