I tamed a lvl 105 with cooked fish meat give me a medal

Bruh, people just making this thing hard. The tip to tame a spinosaurus is just going for him riding a carbonemys (it will need lots of health, I think 2000 is enough) while having a crossbow or bow with tranqs. Just shoot him repeatedly as he will hit your carbonemys instead of you, and when he starts to run away, get out of the carbonemys and keep shooting and chasing him until he gets knocked. Then feed him lots of meat and use lots of narcotics (biotoxins better). Thx for reading and hope it helps ^_^

What confuses me is that people choose this for a power mount, specifically for the purpose of having a power mount. Guys, these are WAY faster than carnos or allos, and they regain their stamina faster, AND the water buff makes them utilize their stamina more. So you also have a speed/scout! Put that together with lightning fast dps, large size, sort of good hp(it’s a lot of hit points, but compared to other creatures the same size, it’s pretty fragile) you have the IDEAL tame.

Oh, did I mention that they swim?

AND they regain stam almost instantly when swimming?

Boom.

We can’t forget the rex vs spino part of the tip:

You’re looking at an even match here, I’d say. One on one, your level one spino will beat your level one Rex, but you’re not necessarily getting one of them specifically for beating the other one, if that makes sense.

Spinos are MUCH quicker, and have a considerable edge on the damage output, but they’re not made for the beating that a Rex can take. If you’re looking at going to battle, it makes sense to choose a rex… much more health, and has a poop roar, which can be useful against smaller creatures.

Spinos are good for travel, and guerrilla tactics.

The only things that can easily catch up with one are pteros and gallies(to be honest, who is going to chase a spino with a gally…).

Quick, good swimmers, great damage, but low compared to Rex.

I have both, and I’m just being honest when I say I prefer the spino, mainly because it’s way more fun to ride, and because it’s faster and more powerful damage-wise. I still love my Rex though.

Note: tamed rexes are actually quite fast.

Another note: spinos are disliked for their turning radius, but in bipedal mode, they have virtually no turning radius, instead turning with the screen like a human or gigantopithecus.

at 40 damage a hit every 0.46 seconds, even they're lowest is 11 more DPS than the rex's 74.5 dps, and the highest at 108 dps, dps demons, approximately 38 mph in quadrupedal mode and faster than a megalodon in the water, forget tankiness, they blitz the dragon before they have to deal with it's 20% total-health fire breath with casualties (with enough melee damage and the courage buff), they get the hydration buff from the smallest puddles of the broodmother cave or the river in the megapithecus fight, even if they're in quadrupedal mode they deal more damage than the rex, 396,000 health vs a collective army of 25,000+ dps (if you spread them out before the swarm), 648,000 health vs 25,000+ dps, 864,000 vs 25,000+ dps. maybe I'm living under a rock because I see way higher damage in videos and way higher potential than just 500% melee damage.

Hands down my favorite tame. I have twelve of them, maxed out, and am incubating more. They're super fast and can kill anything they encounter. 100% worth dying 20 times to tame!

Spinos are way better than rexes cause… well people have already said why and I don’t feel like ripping off of them so I’m just gonna add to them

1: spinos are better for the overseer boss fight cause they are faster

2: spinos are smarter than Rex cause Rex has attention span of a nat

3: spinos are faster than Rex and can easily breeze through animals unlike rexs who would get wrecked

4: spinos can collect raw prime fish meat better

5: spinos are better imprinted than rexes (I 100% imprinted a Rex and a spino) both level one I made rex fight spino and spino won

6: spinos have knockback, rexes don’t

7: spinos don’t waste time roaring before every fight they do

His name is Hemlock (after the water hemlock poison plant 🌿) as soon as I tamed him we had to head into dangerous territory to get back to my base. He protected me and my raptor Delta (who I tamed with him) from a therizosaur and a gang (like 7) of dilos! He was on low health too! I will protect him forever! This is an absolute killing machine just get water buff switch to two legs and its unstoppable

They best way to find spinos is by any river. Also there very large, colorful, and have giant spines (duhhh) they spawn at any river.

They’re heavily nerfed in ASA, the bipedal stance doesn’t swing as fast as it did in ASE, making their Rexes outshine them in hp dmg and dps now.

Multiplayer tip, this works well! How tame a low level, easy as taming a dodo almost.

Step 1: Have a pteranodon with good stamina.

Step 2: Scout the area for a spino (any level).

Step 3: Carry your tribe-mate to spino (keep your distance in the air)

Step 4: Have your friend tranq it.

Step 5: Use soothing balm/starve tame.

Easy tame, somehow.

If you see one run away from the water and it will agro something else but they actually get distracted easily so even just putting something in between you and it will stop it from attacking you they always attack the closest thing to them because they prefer defending their territory rather than hunting food

I am a noob just started the game a week ago, I was super into spino. As one killed me the first day. I am level 27 and tamed one, can't ride it but still looks so cool.

This is how , first you need butt load of stones, wood and thatch. Like 2700 stone, 1600 wood, 1000 thatch. I made 9 stone foundations in 3×3, then put door frames around it and make it 3 door frames high so it can't climb it , put stone stare case from the side spino is closest to, put pillars under it to support. You are 1/4 way there. Get Tranq arrows( depending upon level of dino)and a crossbow. I shot it once and it caught and killed me, i got back and he was still there so i did it all again and got him in , tranq him till he feel asleep, used fish meat and bio toxin and there you go now you have a spino , go wild

For anyone trying to find spino they mostly spawn on south zone,rivers and swamps (I only know island spawns) if you can't find them kill some creatures so the spino have a higher chance to spawn I tamed of these beasts and they are so cool they wreck everything even with non imprinted ones they are still beasts

Is it just me or does someone else thinks that some ark creatures are like pokemons. Like for example the dimetrodon evolves to spino, the dodo evolves to terror bird, the kaprosuchus evolves to sarco evolves to deinosuchus, microraptor evolves to raptor, carno evolves to rex evolves to giga, fjordhawk evolves to argie, diplo evolves to bronto evolves to titanosaur, Titanoboa evolves to basilisk, patchyrhino evolves to trike and so on
