Tips & Strategies
My favourite Dino is a Tapejara- I love them. My friend’s favourite Dino is a Spino. I convinced him to tame a Tapejara with me, so we did- and he doesn’t regret it. On our way back I spotted a mid-level Spino, and as my friend’s new he didn’t know about level stuff, so I knew he wouldn’t care. I stocked up on loads of narcotics for both of us and during our shenanigans I tranqed him and snuck them into his inventory. After I said that we were going on a ‘field trip’ on the Tapejara and flew him too the Spino- you could hear his face light up.
Now, Spinos LOVE big bodies of water with cliffs and one or two beaches, and the Tapejara can latch onto cliffs- so I latched us to a wall and we started firing. After a while it knocked and I spent the rest of my time hunting for prime as my friend admired the Spino- I put it in its inventory and it began to tame. When it woke he loved it- playing about, killing fish, grinning, all that kinda stuff. He still has the Spino now and loves it to death. I make sure it’s fed and he just kills stuff.
What too take from this:
•Spinos love big bodies of water with a few beaches and a lot of cliffs
•Tapejara are perfectly suited to taming Spinos as they can latch onto the cliffs to help you Tranq the Spino
•It took us 200-275 Tranqs for a mid-level: for a high or max level you need even more
•Bring taming food before hand- it took me 30 minutes of hunting then coming back to feed it narcotics again and again and again
•Bring narcotics- even if you don’t need them, just in case
-Two guns are better than one: it took the both of us shooting it to actually knock it within 20-30 minutes- either have some high level Tranq gear or bring more than one person to do the job
•My friend lost sight of the Spino at one point and almost ran off the cliff- LEARN FROM THIS: The over-eager will not think about consequences when making decisions: if you have a goofy tribe mate or someone who loves Spinos a lot consider: would they let their excitement get them and their tames killed? Although they might love the Dino, would it be safer to have them sit one out?
I hope my tale helped you- learn from my experiences

More Spinosaurus Taming & KO Tips
If you hear your mobile ring and you misplaced it.. run like hell because a spino is staring down at you.. right now..
Why tame either a Rex or Spino… when you can take both? 😏
A good way to get it unconscious without a flying dinosaur is by making 10 stone pillars, 10 wooden ladders then climbing up the pillars and shoot it with tranq darts or arrows, it can't break stone fast so ur safe. Pls don't use less than 10 pillars, I tried and I got pushed of the pillar and just died:( Sorry for my bad English. Hope this helped
Want to tame a super dimetrodon? Read on! Before we get to it, you're gonna want to prepare these things:
DIFFICULTY:
5/ 10: Intermediate
WHAT YOU WILL WANT:
-Taming weapon and ammo (Bow (Tranq arrows), Crossbow (Tranq arrows), Longneck rifle (Tranq/ Shocking tranq darts)
-Taming food (Meat (I prefer raw over fish) / Mutton, Kibble)
-Biotoxin/ Narcotics
Now that you have what you need, let's get taming!
For this dino, there are 2 methods (Honest). Here they are:
METHOD 1: The Trap
The usual. 2x2 stone trap (4 stone floors, 16 stone walls and 4-6 ramps), cost efficient and simple. Lead the spino into the trap and tranq it down. When taming, make sure to watch its torpor as it drains quite fast!
METHOD 2: Trapless
Very easy to perform. Find a spino and tranq it down, and chase it when it runs (Do note the spino is EXTREMELY fast). Also clear the area of nasties (I lost my spino to a Therizino), they like to aggro on everything. Now repeat the taming process and welcome your new spino to your family!
Now, onto the features of the Spino:
UTILITIES:
Spinos are glass cannons, typically having lesser health but more damage than a Rex. They have 2 stances -- The 4-legged and 2-legged stances. The 4-legged stance has a high attack rate but lesser damage, and vice versa for the 2-legged stance. They also have a Hydrophobic Boost, which boosts their stats when they enter a body of water. This increases their movement speed, damage and damage resistance.
That's pretty much it for the Spino! Thanks for your time and check out my other tips!
PREVIOUS TIP: How to tame a Baryonyx
-Your average ARK Mobile player ;)
Here's how I tamed my first spino, I used a diplodocus with a health of about 3000 and used it as a distraction for the spino, so while it was hitting my diplo, I was shooting tranq arrows at it. Keep in mind that the diplo will also push away the spino, so it won't get hit much.
Their babies are insanely strong. I breeded my lv 40 and the baby was even stronger then both of them combined! I definitely recommend breeding these guys. Also. Now I can take on that stupid alpha Rex. Don’t worry. I fully imprinted this little guy just like all my other ones. Every one ☝️ is one strength for my baby spino
I just knocked out a 140 spino
It's terrifying
Sam: I heard your mobile ringing
Dad: That's impossible, I lost my phone on the boat.

Hello survivor, if your reading this then you want to learn about the spino and how to tame it! So welcome to the ARK taming and egg stealing guide on all ark creatures
To tame a spino you will need: four Dino gateways and gates preferably stone because they can damage wood. A lot of tranqs, for a 150 I suggest around 100-135 arrows and if your using darts grab a few less, And a large bear trap or two.
Finding the spino
Finding spinos on the island is pretty easy when they spawn, but they share spawns with fish so the fish might make it so spinos cannot spawn, if this happens just run up and down the river killing fish, once most are dead leave render distance and come back, there should be 1-2 spinos now. On abberation (the map I mostly play on) finding them is easy but it’s more the avoiding them that sucks for abb players. On most maps they spawn in small lakes or rivers and sometimes streams.
Taming the spino
Taming a spino seems like a hard task but it’s really not, all you need to do is make a square out of the Dino gates and it’s one wall missing, that wall should be where you lead the spino in, once you have the square place large bear traps in it and take a flyer or shoot the spino from behind the trap to get it in. Once it is stuck in the bear traps that you put in the trap go up behind it and put the last door and gate. Congratulations! You have trapped a spino!
Knocking it out
I know your wondering why I did a section on this but it’s to warn you, spinos need a ton of narcotics and you will need to be constantly monitoring the area for threats like a Rex or ravagers and you will also need to be constant monitoring it’s torpidity so it does not wake up. I suggest eliminating al hostile creatures around and have you creature out on neutral and set it somewhere to protect the spino and then you can watch it (neutral makes it attck anything that attacks you or the Dino itself).
You now have your very own spino!!
Hope this was helpful
Good luck in your adventures

Are you considering taming a fish-eating apex predator of the amphibious (but mostly land) variety? Who am I kidding, you probably are! But for starters; in this tip is what I would recommend bringing or using! You, however can tame this beast in whatever way you think will work! However it’s also good to know what your getting into, now let’s get started! Let’s start with supplies!; Since we are dealing with a apex predator, Be sure to consider packing flak armor sets! As this is the best, cheapest armor to make! Next on the shopping list is the narcotics! When taming this beast it’s best to know that it’s torpor goes down exeedingly quick so I would suggest about 100 / 200 biotoxin to keep it asleep, next be sure to pack taming supplies! I would suggest packing kibble, It likes superior kibble I’m pretty sure, (be sure to check as I might be wrong!) if you don’t have access to kibble, the next step down will be prime fish meat! Also i suggest bringing a fast flying tame, why? For its size, do NOT underestimate its speed, it uses it to eithor run you down or, in this case run away! Now there is two stances the spinosaurus will use! The primary stance it most commonly uses
Is it’s quad-pedal stance, it will stand on all 4s and grants it with a very quick way of getting somewhere, it’s downside is it’s maneuverability to turn! It’s other stance is Bi-pedal, this stance is used primarily by the spino for a damage boost and maneuvering, it’s downside however is it moves way slower than quad pedal, quad pedal doesn’t do nearly as much damage as bipedal! I suggest using bear traps, as the net gun won’t bring this apex predator down, (chain bolas work too!) also consider bringing about 100 tranq arrows or more cut that in half will be the amount of darts you will need,! Taming is similar to that of the most renowned apex predator of the ark commonly known as the giganotasaurus! The spinos torpor goes down half of a 1/3s of that of a gigas! Taming might take a while depending on what you are useing! You now have yourself the fish eating apex predator known as the spino! A very quick and great battle mount in diffrent stances! Also makes a decent bossbattle creature! Hope this helped, and as always happy taming, and take care! :D
