If you want one super early game just spawn at the gloomy coast and get a moshchops to kill leaches (they give like 90-100 each) then get the leaches off and get a good sino with the chitin to get a jet pack. I like using them to safe spot or follow maewings to tame them.

Idont know if anyone mantioned it but babies eat chitin

They eat chitin and only chitin. Even after tamed. They do not like water so you cannot tame it if you’re in water or it will fly away fast and lose taming effectiveness. You also have to make sure your other tames with you are on passive or the wild sinomacrops will know and fly away scared. When you find one, get near it and it will get hearts around it and fly down to you. When it lands at your feet equip chitin in your end quick slot and feed it. Unequip the chitin from your quick slot. Then activate the taming tracker so you don’t lose it as they’re small. Follow it and wait until it gets hearts around it again and lands at your feet. Repeat process until tamed.

Spawn on the beach middle left of lost islands, find some bugs, kill them, harvest, puff in last item slot and crouch walk to sinoma crops feed passively.

Careful while flying because if you run out of stamina you will fall and die but any item you put into its inventory the weight is halved

1.Make sure you have chitin in your last item slot and make sure you have a decent amount of it. 2.When you find one you should get as close as possible while in regular walk mode and crouch and slowly walk toward them until you get about 18-22 feet away from it or until you see the hearts sprite. (never sprint or jump while near it or you may scare it, resetting the taming timer each time) 3. once you see the hearts pop up slowly back up while in crouch mode and the sino will follow you when it lands it will either slowly crawl to you or jump when it gets close enough simply feet it the chitin when prompted. Once you have the sino in the taming process be sure to track it in the taming log so you know where it is. 4. It will be ready to eat another chitin every 16 seconds. Repeat step “2-3” until tamed. Make sure to clear out all hostile and big Dino’s before you do this big Dino’s and your own tames like wyverns can scare Sino’s if they come to close while taming.

dont chase them they will fly away from you. instead once u see one stay a little bit away from it and wait it will come to you. feed them chitin in last item slot. dont wear chitin armor they will aggro on you. also put on the taming tracker go see where it is. but once u feed it once just stay still till it comes to u again for more food.

*READ BEFORE TAMING*

1. Have chitin in slot 0.

2. Get in vincinty

3.CROUCH SO IT DOESN'T SCARE

4. Bola and build 4 torches in a star shape then 1 sign over it

5. Profit

Using a pt fly over till you spot a sino

Leave your pt and go to the sino

Stay in place while crouching an fit will come to you

When it lands near you don't sprint or it will be scared

Walk and feef it chiten

Boom you basically gave a Tek chest plate

Crouch within 60-50m from it, when it reaches 19m it will have hearts to you, have the chitin in the last slot for it then feed it with your corresponding button or key, it will eat it, fly up and fly away, you can chase it, just chase it while crouched unless it's 60+ meters away, then repeat

There supposed to be a passive tame probity with chitin

Sooooooooo basically everyone finds low levels and they don’t care and neither do I buuuuttttt my first one so happened to be a 150 and he’s still alive to this day and I’m on day 13 or 14 he’s insanely good too also don’t where chitin armour in the jungle they target that piece of armour and that piece only they have a fly ability glide ability and if you double press the jump button your guy can basically jump higher into the air so if you want one go to lost island the only place you can find them and tame one if you want one to transfer they are great for getting out of tricky situations maybe transfer to aberration if they have radiation immunity that would be op have fun with your new cheap but sometimes better poor man’s tek chest piece

To tame get one out to the water if possible then follow it with a raft bc they can only land if on your raft like if this helped

Trapping it in a cage doesn’t work it will tell you “must be out of cage to tame” if you leave it in a cage it will just try to fly away it won’t land

Since caging and the stranding torch trap doesnt work anymore, here's a Suggestion how i tamed quite a few of them:

As someone already mentioned above the best Spot to find and tame them is at about 20/35 - 20/50.

Make sure you bring around one piece of chitin armor and a raft.

As soon as you get to see one place your raft, put on your chitin armor and let it aggro you. Jump on the raft and lure it away from the Coast (this way you can spot and track it far easier and it can see you better as well!!). Now take of your piece of chitin armor and wait for it to calm down.

When it calmed down, get your raft near it and place yourself in a corner of the raft. As soon as it got the hearts it will Land on your raft and let you feed it. Rinse and repeat.

Congratulations on taking yourself a sinomacrops!

Having another Sinomacrops on your shoulder will not spook a new one and makes it easier to follow them, especially in hilly terrain.

A semi-easy way to tame one is to wear chitin armor and go to the jungle on Lost Island. When you find one they will attack but when you see hearts and if they land, put chitin in the last slot of ur hotbar and hand feed them.

All I can say is: RAFT

These silly birds kept flying out into the ocean and a raft is your best friend as you can follow it and as soon as it changes direction dismount the raft and crouch and it should come to you and land on the raft to be fed some more. Oh and I went to the scorched earth area in the bottom right of the map to find the ones I tamed.

You cannot tame one in a cave. I found one and he went into a small resource cave in the swamp behind a waterfall and he would not come to me. When he landed he ignored me. so do not chase them into a cave. he was a high level to 😢
