Tips & Strategies

What are tips for sarco? Tips and strategies for sarco in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
It's common knowledge these overgrown lizards are more than fast in any body of water. They are great for survivability where situations turn un-winable(eg. gliding across shallow puddles as you escape, with you & dino still alive) & have great damage output particularly on land.
I want to highlight the swipe-up lunge attack on mobile which, with enough stamina & some directing practice, will increase the effective chomped area, can 2x or more your hit damage output, get you the 1st(& 2nd) hit. You need to skillfully slam against the target in order for the next lunge to do it's damage(2, 3 or 4 times) before shooting past & having to turn around/readjust.
Combat IN the water is much less effective. Your speed makes it hard to score hits & water combat will drain your sarco's food very quickly. You have to adopt a hit & run tactic which will work fine as long as your sarco is prepared with plenty of meat & you keep in mind DROWNING while focused on a drawn out fight in the depths (due to sarco's speed).
Sarco's great instead for gathering information underwater or traveling large distances. Unlike travel with a pteranodon, sarco has a bigger weight capacity, so it can be handy for moving what you need to quickly, carrying pick-ups along the way & bodyguarding while you are busy. Thanks for reading!
For beginners, these crocs will make your life on ARK so much easier and you will NOT regret you obtained one. You can ride them at lvl 35. They are super fast swimmers and even travel quickly on land too. To tame quickly:
1 ) Shoot with tranq arrows until unconscious
2 ) Fill it's inventory with Fish Meat or Prime Meat
3 ) Protect your croc from nearby enemies
4 ) Enjoy your new dino !!!!!!!!!!!!
Pro Tip: These guys are great for obtaining tons of meat on land, but bring lots of meat/fish in your crocs inventory before travelling into the water, the croc will eat and drain it's food supply very quickly while underwater. Fish gathering I DO NOT recommend with this dino.
If you're having trouble getting one to show up, kill a few fish and leave their corpses in the water. The sarco will show up no problem.
These guys can spawn near the beaches in south 2 on the island
Get some tranque arrows then a crossbow. and then get on high ground.make sure it's day so you can see him/her.and then shoot with a normal arrow to get it aggrowed. Then start shooting with tranque arrows. Tame it away from water these things are fast in water. 🐊
Back away slowly while shooting tranqs at it then once their Torpor is high Put kibble or taming food in the inventory.
I play mobile(phone) and I learnt it has 3 different attacks. 1) Basic bite, 2) Lunge(swipe up) and Death roll (swipe down). I was able to grab: raptors, moschops, dodos, litros, monkeys, fish and piranhas with the death roll attack. My sarco was is lvl 36 and her damage is 97+ .These guys are underrate!
If your still new to ark I wouldn’t suggest going near these puppies there absolute beasts
Imo, these dudes are better than barys or ichthys for underwater exploring... LET ME EXPLAIN!!
So basically these guys are EXTREMELY fast underwater and also regain their stamina instantly when underwater it doesnt have a stum attack like the bary but its faster so you can just run to escape and like ichthy and bary you can use weapons on it. But barys are better for underwater caves.
If you want to find one, go spawn in south 2 or go to the southern islets, they are like everywhere, I’m taming one right now, her name will be dismal ( like the Great Dismal Swamp) and she is brown on top and green on the bottom.
Fun Fact for ark mobile: it is very easy to tame sarco at lv 3 if you have a couple clubs you can stay around the middle of the sarco and keeping moving so you say in middle this is because on ark mobile the attacks only can hit you at the front and I would recommend staying in tween two of the legs for easiness and then just worry about having enough meat and narcoberies
Most people say that they aren’t fast on land, they’re lying!!! Mine is the fastest sarco I’ve had, and I’ve gone through 4. Scar is a lvl 9, and was really easy to tame. I distracted him, knocked him out, then fed him fish meat and barely a half a stack of narcoberries. Once I got him, he changed my life. Up if the helped you!
Step 1: if you see a Sacro nearby prepare any weapon that is melee Step 2: run up to it and make sure you stay on land NEVER DO IT IN THE WATER Step 3: allways move circles and stay the side of his torso and keep smacking it Step 4: if you keep going in circles and avoiding the front of its mouth you have more chance to survive AND beat it Step 5: let your pets eat his junk.
I live on the little peninsula next to the swap on the bottom left of the map I had heard about how good the parcars were good mounts and managed to knock out a sarco but i didn’t have any meat on me so I killed some fish that were next to me and thank god for fish
Sooooo, just saying, dont put it on aggressive. I accidentally did, and well rip Scar Scar. He fought well, against a couple manta and fought as hard as could against a megalodon.
To tame this guy you won't need very many tranq arrows compared to other creatures, you might even be able to slingshot one. You can either stand on a rock and shoot it, or stand back and shoot it. Either way, the sarco is quite slow on land, and it would be lucky to hit you. You won't need to make a trap but if you really want to you could probably make one out of pillars or doorframes. Once you have knocked it out, you won't need many narcotics once again compared to other creatures and any meat will do really but kibble, mutton, or prime meat are probably the best option. If you are new to taming, I would recommend feeding it about one narcotic every time it reaches the last letter in the word 'unconscious'on the purple bar at the top when you are taming it. When the taming bar at the bottom is full, you have tamed your own sarco! They are the fastest on land, so if you are having trouble knocking one out and you are being attacked, don't run into the water! Hope this helped!
Basically an Iguanadon but in the water. Without sprinting it's still faster than anything including an Icthy. Icthy's are quick but only at full speed. This thing has a high cruising speed and if you do decide to sprint, then the stamina refills almost instantly.
In my opinion it is the fastest mount to get around on the island. It's not that slow on land either at dull speed. Also Piranhas will not attack you while riding it.
An absolute must on the island.
