Tips & Strategies

What are tips for sarco? Tips and strategies for sarco in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
I was in a swamp, ignoring the big danger sign, saying to myself, “ don’t worry” WORRY PEOPLE I WAS EATEN BY TWO SARCOS ANDA TITANOBOA!!!!!
This is a great tame from early game to mid game it’s easy to knock out I recommend for you to atleast get hide armor and I also recommend tranq arrows but if your desperate like me use a sling shot to the head they will still be knocked out if you get a pair you can breed them and they will be a good tame!
Some people are saying "Trap Sarcos", but I have a quicker and easier technique (MOBILE). 1. Find a sarco. 2. Lead it to a dino that wont attack it. 3. Make sure NO dilos are around. 4. Go to the sarcos legs by its tail. 5. Make sure your bat is equipped. 6. Hit the sarco repeatedly. 7. If the sarco is knocked out, on whatever taming food you are using to tame it, click "All Stacks" if you have alot, so more level can be put into the sarco, and it will tame a bit quicker, and the taming effectiveness will be a bit high. No matter how much fish you put in after the first batch of taming food or fish, effectiveness will not go up, so thats why I included No7. In this tip. You will also want to go for high sarcos, even though they require a bunch of meat. In that occasion, always bring 15-30 Bio Toxin with you. You might need it. Also, bring cooked meat of whatever kind in case you are hungry. And 1 more thing. Its important! Always make sure your sarco is NOT INJURED, or health has been stripped away from some aggro dino. If that has happened, make sure you RUN away from it, so it can heal. If you bat it or hit it after it has had hp stripped away, you will kill it. UP this if it is helpful. I managed to tame 3 sarcos with this mechanism. But one died to a stupid manta. R.I.P Princess Sarcos.
This giant crocs are really helpful at sea. They can swim faster a shark. In center, if you want to go redwood forest for just discovering something, go with it. You can travel in river and you can run away tigers. At the end, Sarco is one of the best discovering creatures. Don't waste them in a fight, take it and discover the lands.
If you encounter one of these
For the low level people find a Carbonemy (the massive spiky) turtle and run towards it the sarco will probably attack it the carbonemy it almost always wins. Then from a distance watch the fight and once it’s dead harvest it.
For the higher level people tranq it it will make a amazing tame it would take 35 pieces of Raw Prime Meat with a total taming time of 1hour 27-29 minutes it would take 18 tranquilizer arrows, or 67 hits with a sling shot to knock a Sarco unconscious.
Thank you i hope this helped!
Be careful with these things, I just tamed a megaladon and I'm coming back and randomly a sarco go s on my raft and kills me my friend and my megaladon
If a sarco is near your spawn you can respawn over and over again to knock it out and have some time to kill dinos and gather meat (you can sprint at it's tail and keep attacking it)
I killed one with my fist all you need to do is get to its hind legs or tail and stay there since it’s so long it won’t reach you also a good way to knock one out when use it a club that’s how I killed and tamed my first Sarco
The sarco has a variety of moves that can make it dangerous so I recommend learning it’s moves before you fight it. While ridden you can turn the camera and then press attack to make the sarco spin around and attack making up for its lousy turn radius. Like modern day crocodiles it can also do the death roll. The sarco grabs a small creature in its jaws and spins itself around doing lots of damage. If the death roll misses its target the sarco will instead lunge forward.
How to tame a sarco for beginners
Step one: find a place where they spawn in single amounts but uncommonly (I prefer the hidden lake and some bodies of water near the red obelisk since I don't go there very often, giving time for them to spawn, but they can spawn near the south island with the large arch)
Step two: make them waste their "stamina" (in reality its their food) in water
-There is a chance that if you stand still in the water, it will just circle around you and not be able to attack you
-Their health will start to drain if they are starved too much
Step three: knockout
-You can circle around the sarco if you have decent movement speed, going behind its back leg and repeatedly hitting it with a club
-This may take a couple of tries since they now have a lunge mechanic and you may run out of stamina
Step four: taming
-You can grab a few stacks of raw meat and watch as it gets tamed in under a minute
In my case these guys have a pretty calm taming process.
Bring Tranq darts (Accessible with a longneck rifle)because they are the most efficient. Next find a Sarco and land a safe distance away from it to shoot at it, And if it comes close to you, just get a small distance away and keep shooting. Or you can just build a trap, whatever floats your boat. And once it’s knocked out… well, you know what to do from there.
Meglodons, raptors, and silos don’t go aggro while your on it
To fight this fat giant amphibian lizard
Dance with him while punching his belly I’m sure you can tame it without anything but fist and meat with narcoberry
These guys are definitely the top 3 best tames for water. Don't waste your time with Megalodons, Kapros aren't nearly as fast (only unique factor is their ability to dismount enemies). I'd say aside from this absolute beast, Baryonyx is a good alternative. They're fast on land, have a combat buff of stunning and blinding (to my knowledge at least) and are good for cave exploration. But for real, Sarcos are the little kings of the water.
Use a couple of tranq arrows and it should be down
