If you have the same last two letters of a griffins name then you can tame that one at level 40 and up

This is my way to tame my frist griffin lvl 270

1. Kill a lot of griffins

2. Make griffin kibble in the tek kibble processor

3. Buy 15x soothing balm (or get 10x free from tributing artifact but you will need more kibble)

3. Use all my allo egg to turn it into kibble

4. Find high lvl griffin

5. Set griffin trap

6. After the griffin was trapped use hide sleeping bag for faster taming

7. Use whatever way u prefer to knock it out (i usually use toxicant arrow its cheaper than tranq darts, you could just use organic polymer wich is easy to get and make sure you craft the arrow right after u got the organic polymer as it can spoil)

8. Use the balm and put the kibble in

9. Enjoy ur griffin :)

So if you want to tame a griffin with name changing trick

Then you cannot tame griffins that contains

~GRIFFIN KIBBLE THE EASY WAY~

You will need;

~ Tek Kibble Processor

~ Element

~ A LARGE abundance of bronto kibble (If you find a better kibble to use for this method please post it!!)

~ A large abundance of dead griffin implants

It’s exactly what it sounds like; just kill a lot of griffins, take their implants, stick it in the processor with the bronto kibble, and click process.

The ratio is 2 Bronto kibble to 1 implant to make 1 griffin kibble.

Well, okay, let’s be real. This is only the easy way if you’ve already reached your late game plays and have tek and an abundance of element.

But it’s still easy in comparison to crafting each individual kibble one by one from breeding 2 griffins together and using the fertilized eggs for kibble instead of hatching. The pain…

~ BREEDING ~

First thing you need to know about griffin breeding is that they’re finicky. If you ever wanted to replicate what it’s like to raise a pet in real life in ark’s format, this is the best challenge you’ll get.

#1- Babies under 10% maturity refuse food if they’re separated from their mothers. They do not care about the sore, only the dam. After 10%, they’ll start eating from the trough and become independent from their dam.

#2- Once you fully imprint on them using candies, if they don’t reach 10% before the next imprinting time,

They will refuse food if they’re not imprinted on again, despite already being at 100% imprint.

I am not sure if this is accurate for all families of griffin, as this did not happen with my ‘Ra family baby, but it did with my ‘Yss family baby.

#3- Babies, even with toy yo-yos on a maturity boosted server, grow incredibly slowly. To put it in perspective, it only takes 2hrs on a max boosted server w/ yoyo to get a giga to 10%. It takes a griffin about 10-15 hours. HOWEVER, from what I’ve noticed they don’t eat much. They’re very sparing with food and get slots quickly, so they really only need to be sat with for the first hour if you have a good food supply.

#4- Unclaiming any griffin will effectively turn it wild and you will have only 15 minutes to knock it, and wake it up tamed after doing so, before it dies of neglect.

So if you are selling griffins as a part of your admin shop, as I am doing, you’ll want to sell adults by pre-trapping them, completely depleting their food value via stimberries prior to unclaiming, as well as a good amount of biotoxin to help it knock, and then giving your buyer a good longneck with shocking tranq darts and a 15x balm with allo or griffin kibble in order to instant-tame it.

Make sure your buyer is fully prepared and knows the sensitivity of time in re-taming your griffin, and if they do not knock it in time, I suggest doing so yourself.

It may also be wise to pre-collect your griffins implant invade of mishaps.

Im In a medium server on unofficial, I found a lvl 150 griffin (max base lvl for medium) I knocked it out starved it for almost 2 hours and 20 mins, I was nearly able to feed allo kibb when I opened up the trap gate and sabertooths came running In and munched it to death, I was able to get the implant and revive it at blue ob I built a trap there and revived it knocked it out and now it doesn’t have the (teaming affect 100% + 70) while it’s knocked out. Does this mean I won’t gain any levels on this beast? I need help I have a 15x balm ready to use I just don’t want it to go to waste. Thank you. Let me know if you’ve experienced this

Lvl 190 griffin and 15x balm used 112 prime meat it gave 0.9% per bite

Be carful but there’s a glitch to get a ton of soothing balms if you save your would delete it start a new the delete new restore old wipes map except for bad and it wipes the mega Piranha hunt which when done give a soothing balm

Its a cool tame to have in pvp but make sure to lvl stam cause it sucks

To knock it out I recommend you to put pillars between it with a big doorway.

To tame I recommend you to use bio toxin and raw prime meat if you have god mod then just keep on leveling it up.

For griffin kibble the snake plant seeds if you plant them with green houses effect and and collect seeds from planter before the fertilizer goes out you can stock pile the seeds I started with 2 seeds now turned into 12 snake plant crop plots to stock pile the seeds for griffin kibble

Get a name change ticket and name it the clan that Harry Potter was is( I forgot the name)

They sould make it so they grow faster and hach faster so we dont have to be on all day and it sucks bc breed griffins have the deast states but they take for ever to hach😶😶😶😶😶😶😶

For level 260 and up, use 5 kibble, Dododex is inaccurate, and says 4 griffin kibble. And ofc this is with 10x balm

I have a history of taming griffins easily but this one time I wanted to tame a second low level griffin (level 10) to make griffin kibble if I eventually came across a 150 royal griffin and the first griffin had the sur name of Ra and it was a level 60 I tamed it under 10 minutes. But anyways it was a female so the second one was gonna be a male I took it near my base and used one of my Dino to tank for me while I knock it out and since it was level 10 I thought it’s gonna gonna take a lot of allo kibble nor smoothing balm so I used a 3x smoothing balm and gave it 9 kibble and I was doing this little hack of mine to skip time but I accidentally skipped a bit too much and it woke up with those 9 kibble it only got it to 45 percent😓😓😓 and now I found a 150 griffin so I have 92 allo kibble saved and this time ima use the 15x smoothing balm BUT I gotta change my name but I don’t got 100 amber to change it😭

Get your hands on a tek kibble processor. Kill wild griffin and take their implant. Make 2 bronto kibble and use that with the wild Griffin implant and an element to make 1 griffin kibble. Griffin kibble with 10x soothing balm gives the same taming efficiency as the super griffin kibble. Just would take more time.

~Griffin taming~

Steps:

1: build a trap for it: 2x8 for the floor, 4 doorframes tall, ceiling, and Dino gates at each end. (2 pillars up to the ceiling in the middle if you want.)

2: lead the griffin into the trap using a pteranodon. (Or no flyer.)

3: tranq it. Recommended: tranq darts, shocking tranq darts, toxicant arrows.

4: feed it allosaurus kibble with a 10X soothing balm.

5: make sure you bring either a shotgun or sniper rifle to fend off wild griffins and allosaurus packs.

6: enjoy your brand-new griffin!
