Dont be like me and spend the time to knock it out to realize its a passive tame

Everyone seems to be a moron here. Put it in any slot. Use that slot when it burrows while you're looking at the hole. So if it's slot 1 then you press 1 to use it while you're looking in the hole. DONT HAVE MULTIPLE HONEY IN ONE SLOT. It will take all of them and it messes up the taming for some stupid reason, probably because the game is a garbage mess. Nobody here is clear. When people say "just drop it" you'd think to press O in your inventory to drop it, but that's completely wrong and anyone who says that is just a moron. Sorry but I'm a little triggered at how many tips I had to look at before I actually just figured it out myself.

You need to put the honey into your hot bar inorder to throw it

It's just like activating everything else you will not eat it in the hot bar

Only way I’ve found to tame is honey. Put honey in your last slot of hot bar and use it like you were trying to eat it but only when it digs and you have to be aiming at the hole.

When they go under the earth, throw honey at them!

Taming:

Step 1- get honey, 5 is good unless it’s a super high level.

Step 2- clear out all predators.

Step 3- put the honey in your hot bar.

Step 4- follow the Rollrat until it digs a hole. DO NOT TOUCH ANY GEMS IT DIGS UP!! That will aggro it and you will lose taming.

Step 5- immediately run on top of the hole, look down and throw the honey. The Rollrat will return and eat the honey.

Step 6- repeat until tamed😁

They’re comparatively easy to tame, all you need is ten honey for a low to mid level one. ‘Honey’ is not as daunting to acquire as it’s often made out, you can simply walk up to a nest (which are often located on the ground in Aberration) and take 5 honey directly from the nest, the negative side is you will be attacked by bees and will almost certainly die (if they can kill a Tek survivor then they can kill you) your only saving Grace with this ‘wild’ beekeeping is that you can use Ghillie armour and a dire bear (that’s what the Tek player failed to do). Once you get the honey all you need to do is throw the honey at the role rat hole etc.

High level RR, low level survivor Taming instructions;Put sleeping bags near-ish bee hive, take off armor, collect honey and die, rinse n repeat until you have enough (2 collections per hive every 15 mins) Put honey on hot bar and eat it. It may not make a difference...but to whom it may concern; you dont have to put the honey in your last slot...it can be in any slot. This might help those, who like me, have a broken right d-pad (xbox).

You drop the honey by putting it in your hotbar and clicking the number related to the slot and drop it on the hole where the roll rat just went underground

For ps4 to throw honey put it in your last spot in your hot bar and press L1 L2 and control pad right arrow and you throw it right when it goes into its hole however if it burrows down without you throwing any honey the tameing will go down

When the burrow throw honey on the hole and they will start to tame.

100% effectiveness regardless of event bonuses. Single burrow miss forgiveness but no more. After one miss the effectiveness drops ALOT. Much easier post patch. You must throw honey in its hole whether it’s ready to eat or not because if you don’t it loses taming effectiveness

Shoot a arrow at em it’ll chase you into your man made trap I used fence foundations with 2 stacked thatch doorways and it got stuck I had it keep lock on me while stuck then when it wasn’t looking I ran around and put the last pieces got a f 135 highest yet

You need to have honey in your hot bar. Then when he goes underground press the button of the hot bar which you put the honey in.and if that doesn’t work watch nooblets to understand better

Bring extra honey it will sometimes fake burrow as well as burrow and eat the honey but will not gain tame efficiency

Cannot be tamed with mejoberries or berries in hotbar, you'll end up just eating all your berries

Time, amount, and food are incorrect. They only eat honey and you have to throw it in the hole after it burrows in the ground. A 150 takes 11 honey and about an hour to tame.
