Have found 1 on the island south side of redwood by the swamp

How to tame one of these critters:

1. Kill a male one, they will drop a rhyniognatha pheromone that you’ll need later on

2. Grab a creature trike sized and upwards, things like gigas, brontos and carchars work best for this (the bigger the creature, the better it’ll be)

3. Feed the pheromone to the creature you choose

4. Find a female, the higher the level the better of course, and lower its health to 10% like a reaper

5. The rhyniognatha will then impregnate the creature and use it as a host to birth the baby rhyniognatha

6. The host will give birth eventually however you can increase its stats by giving it food. The host will ask for cravings, these cravings will vary between things like brews (calien soup etc), eggs (giga etc) and gasoline for some reason

7. Enjoy your new rhyniognatha, it eats raw meat to keep alive

The only wild one I have found was in the island swamp, I have heard people saying they are on lost island also. To get them you need to kill one and take the special item it drops, then you need to find the one you want to tame and get it below 10% health like a reaper, then feed the special item to a sacrifice dino and eventually the bug will lay its eggs in it, make sure your Dino can eat the special item first as there seem to be some restrictions. you need to feed the Dino with the eggs something special every once in a while like a imprint and eventually it hatches and kills your Dino and you can claim the baby and raise it.

Hey Guys! The rhynio dossier has been released it’s taming method is pretty much the same! It also seems that they removed the level mechanics where you have to be higher or the same level as the female to receive the egg which is good for players that have never ascended before!

If you are tired of sacrificing your tames for one of these, just use a mod called MSKYO it takes creatures that you normally have to passive tame or steal eggs for (wyverns rock drakes giant mosquitoes pryomanes etc) and allows you to just knock them out and give them their preferred taming food like meat berries or kibble (the creator of this mod is Trixt3r) I love this mod, this is how we got our first pyromane. I highly recommend this mod if you don’t want to go through all the work of those really difficult passive tames.

Ok so I learned you can knock it down using tranq arrows, I think it's faster to kill it this way.

SUPER EASY TAME STRATEGY,

Use a spino to kill a male for the pheromone, count how many hits it took to kill the male, find a female, hit the female a few less times than the male, or until she is pretty bloody, then eat pheremone and there you go, also constantly consume food while she is attacking to help keep your health high.

Some people use all their good dinos just full it upgrade a dodo and just feed it the pheromone it can eat it.

You need to kill a male to get a pheromone feed to a large tame (gigs Rex) let it lay its larvae satisfy the pregnant Dino’s cravings eventually the baby will bust out killing the tame and you can claim and raise the baby to adulthood hope this helps

I used bronto level 256 - health - 46000

I got it impregnated with Rhyniognatha lvl 125

I completed 5 cravings ( Max )

I got rhyniognatha lvl 174.

But still don't understand how it works 😕

For some reason, no one mentions to make sure your dino is fed so that they don't starve before gestation period is over or you lose your baby rhynio. If you don't want to waste your time, make sure they are safe, fed, and watched carefully or your efforts will be in vain.

To the one saying tek creatures can't eat the pheromone dropped by rhyno male i have to disagree. My first rhynio just got bred from female rhyno with tek rex as its host

Hi guys can someone help us how to feed this dino, like absorbent it will not put in inventory to tap feed the dino

Whoever said only 2 of these spawn on a maps full of crap, my game crashed and when i reloaded it of course i got unmounted apon loaded and fell to my death and where i thought i was in my base area ibdidnt pay attention to where i died... apon spending the next 3 hrs looking for my rhyna and my gear i got gang bamged by 6 of these at once they spawn in groups and try to hunt in groups, and will out pace and destroy anything you got if you try to run, best bet is to straf there shots while chageing and pray your tame can dish some damage, that being said they are the fastest flyer and in im gunna say the top 3 as far as swimmers and transition almost flawlessly my furst rhyna was lvl 5 lol lvled it to 55 and apart from a high lvl giga or carcha nothing could trouch it except by an assendant machete that woulda probly 3 shot it and of course getting arked.... so far any carcha, quetz or rhyna iv tamed thus playthru arks got me on everything except gigas but the fact iv only seen one giga above lvl 7 id say im getting arked there as well, but my tamed at lvl 5 with one craving fed itd still wreck lvl 100 rhynas in about 5 hits

Withe the introduction of tek Gigas, it ahould now be possible to create even more powerful Rhynios because you can breed even stronger host creatures for them.

I have not tested this, but a fully mutated tek giga should make for some awesome stats…

For the ping people. We did 9 pregnancies 1-28-24 with 200-350 ping. Used approx 25 pheromones. We use a large boxed in trap. Toxic server killed a 150 we had trapped. Anyway it’s about getting lucky with the angle when they go through their animation. If they miss when they make their dive no prego. Might be ping but I just think it’s the angle. I’m sure low ping helps but it’s not required. We’ve done about 25 prego and only a few had less than 100 ping. Biggest help for us is just flying out of render. Sometimes they’ll get stuck in the tame. But if you fly out of render and come back a lot of the time they’ll be up high kinda where they can start their animation. Sometimes this is hard because a tribemate doing other things. Or the person we are helping wants to watch. We just tell them to stay out of render and we will tell them when it’s done.

I used a net thats shot out of harpoon launcher to stop it. Then i used one shot from a ascended shotgun(227 damage) and hit it 2 times with a metal pick(200 damage). then it comes undone from the net and impregnates the dino.
