How do you trap tame it? I trapped seven and each failed and I did it just how you have to do it according to the devs.

From personal experience, pumping Narcotics into the host dino has reduced the health damage from cravings. The effect is very temporary though.

Tame a bronto, kill a male to get a phormone, find a high level female get her low on health, make her attack your high level bronto, she will lay a egg in the bronto.

Use a good pump shotgun and bring alot of ammo to weaken it to a certain amount of hp bring a tame u can shoot off of and make sure it has alot of hp so it won't die also bring a magnifying glass to check its hp and bring alot of med brews just incase cuz you need to be safe as well

I realized most of their targets to your tames are (pterosaurs)

Holy crap… this thing is the most useful tame I’ve ever used.

Ran a couple caves and built most of my base AND killed a carch while this thing was maturing, but I just took it for a ride and it completely blew my mind away, even without having any sap to put in its inventory for its resin attacks.

I can shoot while flying, it can do a yuty level roar, it can swim at two different speeds, run and walk, hang onto vertical surfaces, is easily able to kill three brontos at once, and has enormous weight capacity.

I’m bummed that you need resin to do any of its abilities except for roaring, but it’s still pretty amazing either way!

I ONE HUNDRED PERCENT RECOMMEND THIS DINO. TAME IT.

What is the smallest thing it can take impregnate

Use something with a lot of health to tame it. Diplo works great then lower its health with a pump shotgun

Here’s how I tamed one. You create a behemoth gated cage with stone door frames for bars and ceilings to box it up (I had to use creative mode to do that). And make sure you add a double door for your pteranodon to go through. Because once you find the bug monster (make sure it’s female), let it chase you and go through the double door to trap the bug. She cannot shoot through the bars, and while she was busy attacking the cage, close the behemoth gate quickly and you trapped her.

Once you have the pheromone (from killing the male) ready, I used it on my woolly rhino (make sure it’s female), and kept shooting the bug with both my primitive and apprentice bow till her health’s at 10%, she impregnated my rhino, and boom (RIP my rhino), baby came out after a while. You claim and imprint the baby and there you go.

They’re DANGEROUS if you’re on a flyer. Only way to lose their agro is by trying to pass it to another creature. On land though, a mid-high level rex or spino will do the trick at killing these F***ers. Just make sure you have a gun with plenty of ammo to take them down in case they stay out of your mount’s attack range at low health. Also bug repellent works on them.

They’re somewhat rare on pc but VERY common on ultimate mobile.

oh broo one day i was a beach bob i went on my petra to the redwoods to check out the new thylas next thing u know theres this giant bug with crab claws killed my petra killed me lost all my stuff but later once that beach bob became a good player i went back tamed a thyla left it at base pulled up on that exact same one and just pumped it full of bullets later i made a carcha army and went to the swamp and just killed em all got like 34 pheramones and made the females pump eggs into my brontos now i have a small army of these bugs :)

For everyone who wondered: YES, Rhyniogmatha gets 1.5x damage on it’s head.

These have been spawning on Valguero in the swamps as well.

It is very fast, be very careful when you fly on spawns, minimum needs for ptera so it can outrun it is ~500 stamina and 170% speed, if your ptera is 180% or above don’t be scared, also it can attack you while you ride something, you should fly lover to the ground so you can use terrain or use paracers to lure rhynio on them, don’t EVER try to kill them with ptera, it’s literally impossible in any way imaginable, use strong dinos with much attack, lure them on you and go closer to them until they’ll attack you in melee and then you can easily kill it. To get one of these you must kill one to get its pheromone and force feed your selected dino bring a female bring her health to 10% she will impregnate your dino like the reaper taming method complete your dino cravings(sometimes will require very weird things like carch, giga eggs and very weird things so keep in mind)and POOF your tame died but you got yourself a rhynio. to get high levels it doesn't depend on the lvl of the rhynio it depends on the dino drag weight here is some of the best drag weight dinos (giga,charch,diplodocus,brontos, and pretty much anything that is very big)
