You can use regular Torches to put on the saddle of the Rex to light up the area also you can put certain skins on the Rex too.

Got my first max level male Rex on 'the island' today, leveled it up to 45k health and 2k% dmg. Looking for max female then will try to lvl her up to around the same, then go for my first boss fight with the megapithecus.

Rexes are better at holding raids than anything else. They can soak Tek Turrets really well. In addition to Stegos, these dinos should not be overlooked when considering a raid or retrieval

Actually pretty easy to tame. If you’re near a convenient cliff just get on top of it and fire tranqs into the rex until it runs. They’re not fast, so chasing it down is a piece of cake. If you don’t have a cliff or a flying mount, kite the rex with something faster than it is and tranq it at intervals. Taming pens always work too, but in my opinion they’re a waste of resources when taming these guys.

Who else thinks the rex should be bigger. Like in real life the giga was only 3 feet taller or so bigger than the rex but in ark it twice it’s size!! Also in real life the rex could easily kill a giga , much unlike ark. In other words the giga should be the short one and the rex should take its rightful place as king of the ark! Also the giga should be around the same size of the rex and the spino and a tamed rex should be able to kill a wild giga

When comparing this to a spino, consider your own needs!

A spino is more versatile than a Rex, and the spino has small stam drain. The spino is a great swimmer, and has two stances. Basically, 2 legged stance is good for dps and rotation on-spot. 4 legged, the spino can run faster than the carno or raptor. The spino also has a water buff.

The Rex, in comparison, has almost 2 times the health of a same level spino. It has a poop roar, and has bigger spawns. The Rex is easier to tame and uses fewer narcs. It is great for bosses (not the titans). Spino AI forces it to use 4 leg weak mode, which makes it squishy.

Use the Rex for bosses and armies, and use spino for solo mount and overall

I just tamed a level 135 of these on mobile ultimate, and it’s stronger than my level 80 carch that just got killed. Really sad about the carch, and I will be taming another, but the Rex is a great stand in! Always loved this beast.

So I had decided to move my main base from a really nice area to living in a snowy mountain, and just tamed my first ever Rex (WOOOOOO) and since I’m lazy and the only two ways down aren’t too big well one is a death mission for a pack of wolves, I literally just get to my artifact of the immune farm (I don’t feel like running caves) and I get an artifact of immune and get to my base which is at the blue obelisk and I go to the obelisk and save make a save if I don’t get the potent powder I just restore my save and I keep going until either A I get an eerie pistol (WHY SO RARE) or B I get potent powder which is much more likely and once I get the powder I put it into the inventory of my Rex and I start increasing his levels and put it into health until it reaches 10k-20k and then put the rest into strength so that when it’s maxed out it’s the most feared thing in the whole multi verse.

If you can’t get the most recommended tame for each boss, this is one of your next options. Also pair with a yuty, and if in a snow boss arena, use a otter. Happy Rex hunting!

So I had a level 73 Rex and I was going home and I got in a pinch with jelly fish and found out that my Rex was partially immune to the venom and killed them fast and imagine a level 225 Rex with jelly fish that would be great for harvesting biotoxin because My 73 Rex on official gathering rates got like a full two stacks of biotoxin

When you vs brood mother don't use rex use a spino because of the water buff in the cave an when you vs the yeti use a rex then for the dragon 5 high level allos and 10 rexes and 5 deodans

I have a base with two rexes near two alpha raptors. I was always afraid to use the rexes to battle the raptors, but I eventually did it. The rexes killed the raptors, no causal ties on my side. If u r in an aloha raptor crisis and u have at least one Rex, I recommend u to use it.

if you encounter just do what i do with ANY other carnivore. go to a neutral dino. and let it attack that as you run.
