All you need to tank a few hits from it you need chitin gear which is the third gear in the game

For killing use a shotgun

For taming use a crossbow

I’ve tamed 5 by building with wood structures (stone recommended) above their attack range, then spam tranq arrows at them, they run away when they’re about to be unconscious, so make sure to ditch the platform and chase them

Whats the big deal with the tek rex?

Honestly, I’ve just been punching everything into unconsciousness to tame it. I have two Rexs and three Carnos ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

Wear flak armor so it can't hurt you then stick meat in it's butt after 25 minutes

Dododex is WRONG!! You can tame a Rex with regular meat, but it takes longer.

Kick it wit a horse... You'll be fine

Just take an argy with your friend, and be in its claws while you shoot tranq darts or arrows in its face.

If you have a griffon u can ride and use weaponry, chase and tranq it but keep an eye on your stamina.

It is only about 20 tran arrow to get a Rex

To capture the Rex you should build a raft with two high door frames surrounding it. Then you can kinda noclip the Rex into the raft then bring it to a safe area. Once you have it safe exit the raft and run through the door frames. Then the Rex is easy to knock out with tranqs and tame.

Ps I did this on mobile so it might not work on other versions.

you will might only need 22 tranq arrows and if ur playing on val use mutten due to the massive amounts of ovise (sheep) its like prime meat.

I guess there are a few requirements for this, but get a tapejara. I’ve tamed two spinos and two rexes by luring them to a cliff and shot them full of tranqs while my tapejara clings to the cliffside. I also got a blueprint Rex saddle at level 55, so it was all in good reason.

1:you need a 6 bola

2:arows 100 and 2 bows

3:5spears

Than go to a high place than shoot the rex he coms near catch him in bola shoot him with arrows and spearswhen he start movin g agan throwgh another bola and the T-rex is your friend

So to tame I just placed a weird trap I meant for sure wolfs but the Rex fit in the trap idk how but I set it up using wood stairs I think like ten stone door wants and four stone foundation place 8 doorways around the place the 4 stairs both making an x and place 2 or4 in the corner and boom I also rocemmend direbear for this cause it’s a tank good for farming prime also bring lots of narcotics and tame

Easy to tame just run a good distance from it, shoot it with a crossbow or wooden bow with tranq arrows it's not hard even a beginner could do it

Tamed it with iguanodon and a tranq .. and i didnt even unlocked the saddle yet lol .. just keep shooting it with tranq while running around and use other dinos as a bait so when it start attacking the others dinos your job of hitting it ass are simple as your future 😂

I just ran around a tree with tranq arrows in my crossbow lmao. He was a good distance away before I opened fire but having a meaty shield , like a bronto, is a good idea for them to munch on while you take them out. Just make sure health is stacked on your chomped boi. Happy hunting and good luck!

To tame a rex is “simple” knock it out with tranq darts and feed it meat, make sure you have a lot to narcotics to keep it asleep during the taming process, bring a weapon to fend off other nasties!
