Tips & Strategies

While most people think of a rex as a disadvantage, I think opposite.
1. Tank. These guys can deal quite some dmg before low, along with hp. I fought a lvl 9 alpha rex with my lvl 20 with ascendant saddle, and I made it up to 12/25K hp before I died & refresh my game.
2. High apex. This creature can be safe from most of the islands threats (NOT TERRITORIAL BOIS) meaning you'll be safe for long distances.
3. Lvls. While people say Luling up is hard, my rex levels up fast. It's pretty useful for combat (raptor dues within 2 bites for me)
4. Rarities/Farming. Albino Rex's can be hard, but truly worthy. Mine is albino for example. Female Rex's can give pretty good eggs as well to sustain hunger, or even kibble
5. Grinding. The rex is useful to collect TONS of meat and possibly hide within minutes of rampage. If your team is mainly carnivores, this rex is useful for getting the food you need. They also don't eat much, so it's also very useful.
6. Taming. If you have prime meat or better, it's possible to not even need narcotics. It takes a decent amount of time, but very time-saving.
7. Abilities. The roar can affect most creatures with a low apex lvl and if their lvl is lower than the rex. It stuns them for a short period of time, and sometimes can force them to drop feces. (Bleh)
Now for weaknesses.
1. Low speed. This dino has poor stamina for running, and can't escape fast enough for alphas (like how the alpha rex killed me) along with not recommending long travels.
2. Bad weight. A rex normally has about 500 weight before its basically sad.
3. Low armor/defence. Without a strong saddle or high hp/dmg, your weak spot on a rex grows.
4. Breeding. I never bred a rex, but It must be a pain from research. The egg takes s long time to hatch, and it eats about every minute, along with growth time.
5. Swimming. The biggest weak spot of a rex is swimming. They dont have enough stamina for long trips, and extremely slow in water. It's a good hinting method, but still.
6. Abilities. Above it showed the good advantages, but there's weak spots as well. The roar doesn't affect creatures with a higher apex or higher lvl than the rex, and doesn't affect alphas. Doesn't affect any aquatic creatures either, and some creatures might even target the rex instead of stunning. (Slim chance, but in some worlds its possible)
7. Saddles. Requiring a high lvl along with tons of material is a true pain. It's also very rare to get a saddle from supply crates as well. I tamed my rex around lvl 40-50, and yet the saddle is about lvl 75.
I hope these tips helped your taming for a rex! Pls up do others may see.

When breeding two max level rexes to have a super baby, DON'T EAT THE EGG!!!! I've done this twice on accident(meaning to drop it) and each time it takes me a couple seconds to register wtf I just did and then I have to wait to mate again. Sad day. Weekend ruined. Great way to start off the new year! Lol
It makes no sense that it canβt damage stone in real life t.rexes bite force was 6 tons and it could crush bone.
Rex baby consumes meat at about 1 meat per 50 seconds. Each meat gives about 50 food, with a food drain of 1 food point per second. So.. 1 meat = 50 seconds of feed. 1 stack of meat is 1000 seconds/16 min. A stack of meat takes 12hrs to full spoil. So.. on 1x, at 6% maturity, a baby rex can be left to fend its own till juvi... this is even with a 2 hr safeguard to be very safe. Honestly... 5% would work also. Hope these statistics help!
The reason rexes have a tek saddle is that rexes are famous. Same with megalodons and all the other things that have tek saddles. But really, let's be honest, almost nobody has tek saddles. You have to complete a hard dungeon to get a blueprint, or pay big bucks! At least those are the two ways i know of. Im on mobile btw. Really, argy's and spino's should get tek saddles, (you can find more info on argy tek saddle idea in argy, somebody left a tip about it, it has lots of likes so it's at the top too.) Because they're REALLY useful tames to have, in my opinion. I actully on two of each. Im going to put this tip in argy, spino and rex, so you will see it there. Please ^ if you want argy's and spino's to get tek saddles!
The T.Rex should be able to break stone. I don't see why it can damage only wood and thatch (The same as a carnotaurus) but a chalicotherium Wich is smaller and weaker can break stone ( I don't know if it's only from the throw attack which could make sense).Εͺp vΕte if agree so devs can see aswell
My female Rex has 21000 HP and 800% damage. So should I get another Rex to breed?
Just found out they deal more damage against herbivores than carnivores. Not sure on the percentage though.
TLC patch to be added in March 2018 to add a terrain bug fix that will allow it to not get stuck on rocks and add a roar that will force players (and maybe creatyres too) to poop themselves.
Rexes actually do 15% more damage to herbivores. Credit goes to another tip that said rexes do extra damage to herbivores. (Author note: Idk what the plural or Rex is so I just added es)
Since rexs are the second best land carnivore (behind giga) I would recommend just leveling it for PvP. Like on all my 150 kibble tame rexs I go for 10k health then 500 melee damage and then put the rest of my levels back and forth between health and damage.
PS: A good 2nd-5th gen Rex can and will kill tamed gigas
