If you are a beginner then I prefer you to run, unless you have a bola.

To tame 1. Bola it

2. Hit it with hands/bat NOT AT HEAD

3.Tame it with meat-beginner’s

Make sure to scope it out BEFORE attempting to kill or tame. If you enter an area that you saw it previously and no longer see it it may have hid to pounce on you. They can and will sneak behind you and surprise attack you. Make sure you see it from outside of its detection range, prepare a bola, get close enough to bola it, and then pelt it with a couple tranq arrows. DO NOT turn your Dino’s on peaceful until AFTER you’ve bolaed it. If it sneaks up on you or another one sneaks up on you the only way your getting out of a pounce attack is with Dino support. These are great hunters and defenders but that means that when taming there must be extra caution and your eyes but always be on them in the taming process. It’s an easy bola and two tranqs but they are crafty and will ese you alive if you do it wrong.

How to tame:

1. Craft bolas, a wooden club, and/or a bow and tranq arrows

2. Find a raptor (if you’re new, preferably alone)

3. Throw bola, but keep your distance

4. Get behind it and knock out (so it can’t hit you)

5. Put raw meat in inventory (you may need to get more)

6. Protect it and view its inventory to see how much meat is left

7. Enjoy this new and powerful pet of yours

I think you should get 12 raptor claws, 20 raptor scales, 10 raptor teeth, and 5 raptor feathers.

How to make your pet be very powerful:

1. Start by making your raptor kill 5 dodos

2. Make it kill 10 lystros

3. Make it kill 1 moshops

4. Make it kill 5 iguanadon (skip this step if none in area)

5. Make it kill 3 carboneys

6. Make it kill 5 trikes

7. Make it kill 2 raptors

8. Make it kill 1 carno

9. Make it kill a diplo

10. Make it kill 1 Rex

11. Make it kill a sarco/alpha raptor

Level it up health and melee attack only, sometimes weight, and you’ve got a literal hunting and killing machine. I suggest crafting a saddle. Also, create a pack of tames. They can be raptors or other dinos on the Island that are available to you. I have two raptors, a trike, two carboneys, a parasaur, two dilos, and two pachys. Create a tribe of tames and roam your land.

1. Bola it.

2.Tranq it.

3.put meat in his inventory.

4.have fun with your new Raptor. :)

You can tame these guys with just 9 and an club bolas just incase its an high level:

1-first if it’s not alone and you can’t kill them just go find another then if you find an alone one

2- bola it then start clubbing its back so it can bite you

3- feed it raw meat and get a few narcotics and if you don’t have narcotics use narcoberries

4- tadada you have an meat farming machine just saddle it up and focus on melee and stamina and health

The Raptor

Craft 8-12 Bolas 3 pikes a bow 30 tranq arrows and wear a shield 🛡 (incase)

Approach it slowly and bola it then tranq it 2-3 tranqs per raptor

I have currently 5 so just tame em until you reach 6 raptors saddle the strongest 💪

You can actually trap alpha raptors in regular cages!!!!!!

dont have raw meat?, use fish meat, any type of meat works on a raptor, ive tamed a lvl 60 raptor using raw prime fish, honestly, any meat works

Get a crossbow and get a few tranq arrows,bola it,shoot it In the head,get kibble and raw meat and voila! U got a raptor

To kill an alpha raptor you need a high level raptor and a high damage bowmake ur raptor jump on it and just keep shooting it

A way to get a raptor is to make sure your ready for a pack because that what they travel in because you can easily die to a raptor pack my tips are going to be helpful

1:prepare 3-6 bolas to bola and knockout your tame and the pack

2: bring your preferred knockout choice mine is a bow and tranq arrows

3: bring meat or if you have acess to it prime meat

4: put meat in the raptor or raptors

5: while it’s taming make a saddle

6: you now have a raptor you can now name it and raid with it or anything you please

7: note this is if you have two of different gender breed your raptors to get better raptors and more raptors.

The first time I tamed a raptor, it instantly got killed by three others before I could even name it. RIP whatever your name was.

When i was a noob i was starting to make a house, but then a alpha raptor attacked me and killed me. Later i tamed a red raptor who is level 20. I was wandering with my raptor, when i lost myself in the map. I suddenly forgot where my house is. I wandered the map for a long time till 3 raptors attacked and killed me and my raptor. I didn’t name the raptor yet. I finally found my house. Tip: never forget where your house is. I still don’t have a raptor, yet.

Hi I love ark and I just want to tell you that a raptor is amazing!!! They are very loyal and are strong Dinos. I have two of them a male named fang and a female named echo (and yes there mating😍) there the most reliable pets I have. Please get this Dino. to knock out you need a slingshot or tranq arrows and at least 3 bolas then it’s all about feeding (please make sure that you don’t accidentally kill it I have made that mistake before)

One killed me and I came back and it said it was tamed by me

Bola raptor so it can’t pounce on you cause when it pounces you can’t do anything except sit there and watch it kill you.

Raptor taming guide

1. Craft bolas (there can be a pack, a lone raptor is rare)

2. Bola the raptor and use either a club or tranq arrows

3. Feed it any type of meat (idk about fish meat)

4. Wait for it to tame

Just tamed a level 250 (after taming 317) raptor using bow and tranq arrow. Easiest way is to get yourself stuck on a ledge where raptor can't reach you (mere centimetres away from you so it doesn't move and you can headshot it a dozen times).

The simplest way to catch these guys is to bola them.

A high rock is ideal, but I’ve had that blow in my face a couple of times. Here’s how I do it:

1.) get in raptor’s line of sight with your bola already swinging. He’ll run in a straight line towards you… it’s hard not to miss.

2.) hit raptor with bola just as he is about to grab you, so there’s no chance of you missing.

3.) get behind trapped raptor and beat him unconscious with either club or fists. The reason I say behind is that if you’re in front and you approach him, he can grab and pin you still. Learned this the hard way once or twice…

You got him! Feed it raw meat, and enjoy. I have five lvl 10-20 raptors, and they kill theris and carnos in a matter of seconds. They’re a must have.
