When you are riding them u can have them pounce and u can jump off and they will still hold for a few more seconds

Raptors are one of the best early/midgame tames, because of their availability, easy taming, and balanced stats. Also their saddles are relatively easy to craft. To tame one just bola it and then club it on the head, just remember that they can still attack, and watch out for others

Easily killable wih a sword so keep that in mind :)

These guys are cute but deadly tame them immediately you can ride them and kill a therozenosaurus

If it's just one you can literally just throw a bola at it and then beat it to death with your bare hands

They will have “wander” set automatically so set it off once you put it in a safe spot (e.g your base, animal pen, etc)

How to tame for beginners

Supplies; about 15 to 20 meat (you can also collect it wile ur looking), 3 bolas, a wood club, hatchet or better weapon, 5 narcotics (incase high lvl)

When to do it: peek of dawn or early in the day, don’t be caught out at night

Where to do it: in a openish field or beach, not in a jungle because it is way to dangerous

How to do it: set out on a relatively fast rider tame. Look first at beaches, mostly rivers and bays. When you spot a raptor don’t get off your tame, first decide if this is a safe spot to tame it. If you do decide yes, get close enough for the raptor to chase you but then bola it wile it is close. Then quickly get off your ride and club the side of the raptor. (You can also do tranqu arrows to the head but if low health not ideal) the feed meat, and narcotics as needed. If it breaks free you can try to knock it again or kill it with hatchet

Get it’s attention then when it gets close bola it then stand to the side of it and punch it till KO then feed it at least 50 raw meat just in case

Raptors are basically devils in packs up to 5, but you rarely see any more than that. If you see one and you want to tame it,use a bola.Its not worth it to use stronger.What i do, if i want the females i just take out the males.The good thing with raptors is that they stay in a pack so you can keep an eye on them all at once.

As annoying as it may seem, the Raptor is a good early tame, so here is a guide. #1. The Raptor can spawn in the Desert, the Beach, the Jungle, and I think the Snow and Redwoods. To tame them is simple: find a raptor, bola it, and knock it out. Then put meat in its inventory, and there you go. The saddle unlocks at Level 18, and the bola at 7. #2. The raptor has 2 attacks: a standard bite, and a pounce that can jump on anything smaller than a human, including humans themselves! They also have a pack buff that I think gives any tamed raptor in the area a damage boost. Only the highest level raptor has this move. They also do a funny dance, which look like a baby bird wanting food. #3. Beware its speed thought, as it is fast, and in mobile will pounce you when it can. Also, if the raptor is red or white, and has an orange to red glow, stay away from it, as it is the alpha variant. It is twice as strong, and has twice the stats. Sadly, no alpha variant is tameable. Idk how many times I’ve tried to complete the pursuit, “Hunt raptor”. It’s super stressful. Any tips?

A basic Alpha Raptor Hunting Guide

You will need

A saddled Stego(any armor works)

Veggie Cakes(optional).

1. Find an alpha raptor

2. Clear the area of secondary threats

3. Start swinging at the raptor(it usually gets in roughly 1 hit per 3 stego swings).

4. Keep swinging until the raptor is killed(veggie cakes can be used to heal).

5. Collect your reward

Raw Prime Meat

Hide

Mid-High teir loot(includes metal tools).

T-Rex skull(hat skin).

The best way to tame a raptor:

1 Craft a bola

2 Find a lone raptor

3 When it sprints towards you throw the bola at it

4 Knock it out with a slingshot to the head

5 Put meat in it’s inventory and you have a raptor
