Step 1= Bola raptor or climb on high rock
Step 2= Tranq out (recommend tranq arrows etc)
Step 3= make sure not other baddies in area
Step 4= wait for the hunger to go about half way down
Step 5= after waiting give raw meat,mutton,prime,kibble etc

To tame velociraptor

1. Craft at least two bola’s

2. Search the west for them (most common there)

3. Throw bola before he/she pounces

4. Hit a few times with club

5. Bola a couple seconds after last bola (to not escape)

6. Feed at least 8 raw meat (depends on level)(more info on how to feed in Dododex)

7. Wait patiently for tame ready

8. Keep it alive...

I have a few raptors and a couple of fertile eggs due to the fact that they can incubate at beach temperature, where my base was set up. I walked out the house and noticed a second baby raptor (I birthed a claimed one days earlier in-game) and was surprised that it just showed up and I didn’t have to campfire-incubate like normal. Remember to spay/neuter so you don’t overpopulate for what you can’t account for. But if they lay fertile eggs they can be preserved for another day...

Bola raptor so it can’t pounce on you cause when it pounces you can’t do anything except sit there and watch it kill you.

If you are a beginner, on easy mode, this thing is COMPLETELY AWESOME. It takes about 50 cooked meat for a lvl 30 but taming is EXTREMELY FAST. Just bola its face! Then slingshot its face! Then feed its FACE. And BAAAAAM RAPTOR

feed it parasaur kibble it tames so quick here is the instuctions on how to make it: 1 parasaur egg, 1 cooked meat, 2 rockarrots, 2 mejoberries, 3 fiber, a full waterskin and a cooking pot. cook it and craft bola, find raptor (you can figure that out) bola it quick, hit it VERY quick it escapes fast then put kibble in inventory, and BAM! you got raptor! Just tamed a level 122 on Dead Island no kibble and only a few narcs on me. Had to fight off a scorpion and a sabertooth to keep from it waking up. As the tame was close to finishing I was attacked from behind by two scorpions and they knock me out. As I'm getting attacked by them and I am sure that I am a goner, the raptor tames, gets the them off of me, and kills both of the scorpions. I wait in horror as my consciousness returns, hoping that I am not going to die to a patrol. I didn't, and I turn around and see a Rex almost close enough to aggro me. I put my raptor on follow ran to my raft, and escaped the island as the Rex was chasing me. I named him Saving Grace on the way back, but as I am passing the swamp, a sarco attacks my raft. It knocks my beloved raptor off, and it was swarmed by the sarco and a group of megapiranha. I try to call it to follow, and it dies almost instantly. I am utterly devastated and heartbroken...... :'((

If you tame a good 3 or 4 raptors,you can not only take down bigger and better dino's, but get meat,recourses, and a lot of hide by killing other dino's.

Looking for a raptor but can never find one? Just take your favorite tame with you and all of the raptors on the map will be eating him/her and then eating your face of while you stare at the last place you saw your tame!

If u are a low level just bola a single raptor. After they are trapped quickly knock them out. Raptors eat meat. They are fast and decently strong. RIP Clyde.
