If you want to watch it’s Tpatty Plays but anyway I was always scared to tame a raptor but then I realized it’s really easy just bring 1-3 bolas for if u miss or it gets out always bring a back up club so ur not wasting time crafting a new one if it breaks and also DONT BE SCARED it’s not that hard!!!

Mobile players, be warned! There is a chance when using the pounce ability with your raptor on an extremely small target (cough, meganeura cough) or when pouncing into a tree the game can glitch and land u in the northern part of the redwood biome! (very possibly coordinated at 50 50- the same coordinates a wild quetzal will eventually reach and stay in if it's startled.) So far it has happened three times to me, all when I was in the south of the island. So far i still don't know exactly what triggers the teleport So it's more a nuisance than utility. The glitch will deposit u in the sky So ur raptor will take fall damage and will be left to face all the threats of the redwood. Because of this i recommend either do not use pounce too much in the southern regions of the island or make sure ur raptor is not very heavily burdened. (So it can fight or run if needed) It is not a life threatening glitch, my raptor survived all three teleports and made its way safely back to the pack at the southern coast, but it is annoying and might disrupt ur plans. So, just bear that in mind. I hope this helps.

I was making traps an I found that a raptor CAN fit through a wooden doorframe but CANNOT fit through a stone doorframe. 🤔 but don’t believe me, try it.

Tip:be careful cuz often times they come in packs so they will ✨GROUP POUNCE✨(aka softlock)

Knock out le raptor with item of choice

Shove a handful of meat (or prime meat) up it's butt

Wait a bit (keep shoveing narcotics down it's mouth so it doesn't wake up)

Name it Vicky if girl and Andrew if boy (in honor of this tip)

And it will love u till the end of your life!

I think you craft a bola and a club throw the bola at it an hit it with the club give it 9 raw meet and it’s yours

NEW PLAYERS BEWARE if you are looking to tame one then keep your distance and use tranq arrows. This might be upsetting for some because you don’t have tranq arrows yet but you can use a bola instead. Also you don’t need narcotics for it. And before you know it you will be taming a rex! When all of a sudden you are being eaten alive by the islands most annoying..

How to get rid of a raptor

Step one get a raptor on your tail

Step 2 hope you got the bole engram if you have the materials make one hope you got some levels in crafting speed

Step 3. Bola the raptor

Step 4 kill it with a pike or bow

If you want to tame one here

Step one find a good level raptor like lvl 15 or 10

Step 2 knock it out with bow or crossbow with Tranqs if you have any

Step 3 give it prime or regular meat if you don’t have prime

Step 4 bring naracotics just in case

Step 5 you should have a raptor get a saddle and boom ez starter

And if it does not work try again! But try it in your way of taming

Make a 9x9 wood or stone foundation and then place 2 door frames on top of each other all around and have ramps facing its direction and get it’s attention. And then run 🏃 on the ramps into the trap and then get out the trap or it will kill you . And shoot the raptor until you KO it. Then feed it and tame it!!!!!! Just stay far and shoot tranq arrow for 3 times to make it unconscious and feed raw meat.

Always have a bola in your hotbar, make it one of the first things you make. Like seriously there is no place safe from raptors so make sure to make like 5+ bolas the moment you get them. Bolas last for 20 seconds on dinosaurs, so take note of that to time your bola throwing when fighting these guys. If you don’t bola them they’ll pounce on you and rip your face out while you’re immobilised. Also DO NOT underestimate raptors’ damage output, they attack so fast they ripped through my 1000 hp para with 50% damage reduction in like 10 seconds.

If you want to tame the way that I do it is to just get a bear trap a crossbow recommend other then bow or get a longneck rifle tranc ammo go to the raptor make it chase you then place the bear trap shoot it in the head and give it meat

If you want this, take a lot of bolus and some necrotic arrows (a slingshot might also work) and some meat kill any Dino you don’t want in a pack first, then bola the one you want knock it and give it some meat. Boom. These are earlier tames and I recommend getting a different mount later on
