I have recently found out that the grapple technique doesn’t work very well for mobile 🤷‍♂️ In order to pull it off, you have to have insane “finger speed” to whistle and shoot at the same time 😔 I have found that the easiest way to get one without raging (me) is to kill it and make a trap around an obelisk and revive it via ambers. Takes quite a few resources but it’s better than having to go through the process of trying to get one downed in the air. 😉

I found out the hard way that the quetz is a huge pain to tame with any methods 🙄 I did use one method that worked perfectly while only wasting a few ambers for mobile players at least. So... what you do is kill a high lvl quetz, take its implant, build a roofed structure about 4 stories high around a revival platform and revive the quetz. Then you can just tranq it easily without going to through all the pains of trying to track one down

Quetzal catcher.. Tranq arrows

Quetzal is very essential to have, the best way to knock it out for begginers, is to mount on an argentavis and grab ur friend, let ur friend do the shooting ( pack urself with lots of arrows or trank darts if ur able to make them) and careful not to down it over the water. You can use tapejara, but to tame one is very hard so argies are ur way to go since their easier to tame.

Since the tapejara was added, this is the best dino to tame a quetzal with. Have a friend board the front seat and shoot the quetz. Tranq darts are best, but tranq arrows will do too. Once it's KO put spike walls around it and tame it!

These guys are actually semi easy to tame. You will need, harpoon launcher, high dmg longneck, multiple net projectiles (in case you miss), manny tranks bullets, narcotics, and food. First hit it with the net gun then shoot it in the head untill it knocks out, then pump it full of taming food and narcotics, then enjoy your new quetz! (Tip, tame a low lvl one first)

I used a titanoboa and an Archie. The snake needs to be on aggressive and a few levels into attack to increase the torpor damage. Hardest part of this method is getting the snake, have to use fertilized eggs and it can't get mad at you.

To tame a quetzal u need to have a quetzal. Dismount from the quetzal and whistle target to the quetzal while staying on its back. Tranq it and boom u got urself a quetzal

How to tame

1. Get rare flowers

2. Find a quetz

3.fly down from quetz and build some kind of trap that it will fit it

4. Go back up to quetz and eat rare flowers near it ( this will make it aggro on you as long as the rare flower debuff has not gone away)

5. Guide it to the trap and knock it out

6. Spend the next hour of your life waiting and feeding it narcs

7. GO OUTSIDE YOU FAT NECKBEARD

I have always wondered what would happen if you grappled onto the Quetzal itself and shoot tranqs up at it??? 🤷‍♂️ Might be easier than having to whistle your bird on and off 🤷‍♂️

Whatever you do and I repeat, NEVER JUMP ON ITS WING DURING KNOCKOUT!!! It will glitch you and automatically kill you 😡

then heres the step totally make alot of trand arrows like 50 or more than i recommend more trand arrows when you miss to much

step 1:you need a tapejara with saddle of course

step 2 get some biotoxin you can get some bio toxins to chidarians

or get 10x soothing balm

step 3: riding tapejara find some quetzal here where can you found quetzal you can found this guys near to obelisk i always found this guys near to obelisks

step 4: if you already found quetzal go near to quetzal sit at the back seat in tapejara whistle the tapejara (target) which the tapejara will attack the quetzal

step 5: while your tapejara is attacking the quetzal go shoot the quetzal with trand arrows

Step 6: if the quetzal is far away from you don’t shoot it if it is near shoot it!

step 7:make sure not to max torpor the quetzal look at your below before max torporing the quetzal if it the quetzal is in land not gonna got to water max the torpor if it the quetzal is gonna got to water don’t max the torpor or the quetzal will die in drown make sure to look below before 1 shot torpor safety first:)

step 8 now feed it with raw prime meat and put the biotoxins to its inventory while waiting i recommend no carnivore dinos around the quetzal if there is no carnivore dinos around go hunt for titanoboa and other creatures that you can get smoe raw prime meat only near but don’t be far to quetzal you might forgot the way

step 9: now you have to guard quetzal from carnivores until it’s full but make sure to feed it biotoxins when unconscious is low

step 10: now congrats now you have a quetzal name idea birdzal or gigantic bird
